2024 U.S. Elections | Trump v Harris

In response to several of the posts above I hate to say ive said this many times before but I still worry about DeSantis. I do believe Trump is a lost cause with many of those in the center now..or enough to give it away - what I still don't believe is that DeSantis won't have the support of the full GOP machine if the Trump shackles ever come off. Trump being taken out of the election prior to the general for legal reasons still seems to be a potential dream scenario for the GOP old guard.

Thing is, this whole time DeSantis keeps becoming more and more Trump like in his handling of things in Florida to try and win some of Trump’s base over for the primary. He’s gonna have a laundry list of cnutish behavior by the general

It is definitely true that DeSantis' political track record is a major disadvantage vs Trump with those in the middle and the left but that also means they need to show up in numbers again, they won't find a way to turn this into a young vs old guy election to sway some, and a spoiler candidate won't take votes from the Dems.

How funny is it that he’s performing so poorly vs Trump in his own party
Basically people who know him/hear more from him don't like him.

As tired and unpopular as Trump is, he still commands a solid following. Give the general public a year of campaigning from DeSantis and Sleepy Joe could win 400 EVs.

Alabama GOP approves congressional map that defies the supreme court, disgusting, hopefully this gets sorted.

I mean, that video has some redeeming production qualities, it’s just wasted on someone like that midget.

It was supposed to be an official video?

Are other campaign videos any similar of that one from any campaign?

If so, What is this showering of milisecond images like sort of subliminal military shit, strong men, women in bikini completely unrelated, crocodiles and many nonsensical images

And the last scary one part with a military march walking to the horizon

Is this a fecking real campaign video?

also using nazi iconography in "the black sun" as they soldiers walk into it

It was tweeted by somebody, then re-tweeted by somebody officially on his campaign, and then deleted.
We know that he has right-wing people in his staff - some weeks earlier, a supporters group tweeted a similar video (without Nazi images) and today it came out that the video was originally made by his actual campaign staff. That one was bad enough that even other Republicans were attacking it for being homophobic.
So I think this one also was made by the campaign and supposed to be tweeted by supporters groups, but somebody pressed the wrong button and they had to delete.

Nikki Haley must be contemplating changing her name back to ....

There are individuals "on the left" at points in time (Brand/Dore etc) that genuinely disturb me. There is something about the these individuals where they seem to think if their screaming and yelling doesn't achieve anything, then they will pivot on the spot and start their march to the right. Thus these people are not actually wedded to socialist/leftist/progressive ideas but more a sense of "whomever can win and force their ideas on people has the better ideology". They are never happy with the effort required in winning the consent of the people, so they look to the groups that just enforce it on everyone and slowly change their own beliefs to suit.

Well, there was the Commie -> Neocon "pipeline" for a while, long ago....
Though, while neocons aren't the brightest people, compared to the current left->right people (Rubin, Brand, Dore) they are a mensa club.

This is how Fascism started with Mussolini

Can’t tell if that’s supposed to be pro- or anti-DeSantis.

his staff is so fringe far-right it produces this effect.
half of bernie's staff turned out to be morons, but still they haven't reached the pagan-nazi fringe that seems to be running ron's operation.

Just watched the documentary ‘A Storm Foretold’, which follows Roger Stone before, during and after the events of January 6. Highly recommendable as it gives a good insight into American politics and not least Stone himself, who is a bit of a parody and yet a fascinating character.
