2016 US Presidential Elections | Trump Wins

The end of the world as we know it, mate. Seriously, complete and utter feckwittery on a scale unknown even to the most moronic Americans. But even with a Clinton win I think the USA is headed for trouble, maybe even worse as the morons will revolt and kick off left, right and centre.

I too agree about the polls BUT! I think that America is slightly different as it's polling in a completely different way and because of the electoral college voting system. I also think that Drumpf has upset far too many women, Asians, Muslims, African Americans, Jewish Americans, etc, whatever, basically if it lives and breathes then he has upset them at some point in this campaign, so you have to think it's going to be nearly impossible for him to win and the only reason it's close is because it suits the media for it to be close so they can keep pedalling this horsehit to the viewers. That is my hope though, and I sincerely hope it's right.

Yeah, well she knows differently and you can tell that because she herself said that Drumpf was nasty and awful BEFORE she went to work for him, so of course now she's being paid by him she changes her tune, but she knows deep down and that makes her even worse in my opinion.
I could never do what she does for money and any responsible media outlet should really have played her attacks on Trump right to her face.

Do they have ME-2 as Dem leaning there? Fairly happy with that going into election day, now just need to hope for good turnout.

US polling is more robust because you've got plenty of state polling to give context to the national numbers, as well as early voting to check turnout levels and electorate composition. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't still worried that the polls might be off because I've gone into too many election nights expecting one thing only to get battered around the face with reality in the last few years, but UK polling isn't a perfect comparison.

I think they gave all of ME to her and all of NE to him. Although I think she will win at least one of FL, NC, or OH - I like her chances going in when she could still win even if she lost all of them.

I think some have mate, and I agree completely as I said because she's doing it for money makes her far worse. But on a whole I think most media outlets have been awful this campaign, far too many mouthy shouty types and no way near enough calling people out on their BS with video evidence. Too much time has been taken up with absolute morons just shouting over people and talking absolute bullshite. Take Katrina Pierson for instance, they still have her on Faux news every chance they get and she's a fecking idiot. A nasty, vindictive one at that, but they keep having her on even though she gets more and more unstable and outlandish each time she's on. The same with Corey and Kaleigh and the others on CNN. They don't ever let anyone else talk, they just shout and rant over them, and of course, that's their job, they are being paid to be like that and CNN must think people like it because the format hasn't changed one bit. Election night has the potential to be TV carnage.

CNN are well aware of that, I saw them bragging about their organization and preparations for that night. It would seem that there was a military operation upcoming, not an election coverage.

Wow @Dwazza Megyn Kelly's show would have been for you tonight, not only did she look hot as feck, she had these three beauties on..

It's like a major theater production. It's times like these that I wish NPR had a TV channel. Just report the fecking news and informed opinions without embellishment or drama.

Yeah, but if Wolf Blitzer does not deliver the breaking news about the Comey letters as if he is announcing that Soviet tanks are rolling in West Berlin, viewers will switch to NBC. People have become to expect news covered in a certain way, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Even 538 is now showing NV going to Clinton. Trump is not making any inroads in NH either.
Its over... unless they have all messed up big time.

Trump's big strategy is to win Michigan which he thinks will break her "blue wall" of protection. In order to pull that off, he still needs to sweep FL, NC, and OH and not lose AZ, GA, and IA. That's a pretty narrow path. If i had to pull a number out of my arse, I'd give Hillary an 80% chance of winning today.

What about her chance of winning tomorrow, that's the important one.

So I guess we're all going to need a new thread to live in after Wednesday :(

Well if Drumpf wins then it's obvious there will be a new thread (before the bombs drop at least) called "Trumps America" and if sanity prevails and Hillary wins then I think we can have another thread about the end of the Republican Party and Trumps epic meltdown. Or we just have a Trump thread because lets be honest, he deserves one and he will provide enough material for one, but I think the GOP/Trump thread will be the way to go.

What's that twitter guy who has been going on that there was two big Trump stories waiting to be released by the media.

Want to give him a proper bollocking

He's the McMuffin man.

They all use different methodologies. Sam Wang only looks at state polls whereas Silver looks at both. I don't even bother looking at HuffPost as they are probably bit further down on the pecking order.

To Silver's credit, his model is quicker to adapt to short term changes in polls, which is why his percentages seem to swing faster than the likes of NYTimes, Sam Wang, or DailyKos.

The big problem with all of the models this cycle is that they don't incorporate early voting, and polling seems to miss a lot of Hispanics because most polls are done English only and there are good number of Latinos who are eligible but only speak Spanish.

If Hillary does win, I doubt it will be the death of the Republican Party. In mid-terms of 2018 the party not holding the White House will gain traction and seats in the House and Senate. It always does, and based on her past I don't see her unifying the country any. From here on the ground, this is far from a sure thing for either one of them. A decent candidate from either side would have put this away a month ago.
