I did find some of it interesting. Certainly nothing wrong with how he's speaking but it's definitely an outlier and could explain how he's connecting with so many voters. He's portrayed himself as an outsider and his speech highlights that. From what they describe, Hillary, despite having an average rating, does sound a lot more masculine and detached than Donald.

I was re-reading this article again last night, and this study just struck me as a bit of the "significance chasing" that's described here to look for ways to justify his popularity.

What you talking bout Willis?

In layman's terms, I read your post and it came across as though it was written by somebody who was crazier than a bag of cats. Being the Caf, my first assumption was that this was a witty attempt at political satire; however further investigation of your post history confirmed my initial assumption.

I always wonder when people say Sanders policies are unworkable.
For instance healthcare; why isn't it possible for the richest country on earth to guarantee healthcare to every citizen?
Green, the only God in this country.

Pure ideology. Even if its obviously stupid, people stick to such things. I mean, Obama had to explain to the people things like that with the words" this is not socialistic, its pure math"

It will be interesting to see in a few years how many of his "supporters" still stand behind him or how much he will lose over the months or years that follow. I could actually see Trump meltdown enough to where he turns on his supporter's blaming them for not supporting him enough. Though the fact that he needs at least some of them for his TV network to stand a chance, but he will figure out a way to make some money out of The TWAT Network before it goes under (he will of course blame the FCC, or the cable companies, or the Internet or that Nasty Woman Crooked Hillary for the failure).
They will be proud investors of a monorail very soon.

German TV ZDF visited some cities in decline in Ohio. Scary stuff, Trumpites everywhere, no Clinton voters.
An older woman yelled 'arshole' at a journo who usually comes across as a nice bloke, just because he tried to ask her why she has a "I vote Trump' sign in the window of her shop.

The numbers are tightening up again from where they were a week ago after the debates and the Billy Bush tape. Suspect they will wind up somewhere near the 4-5 range for Hillary, which will put the EV result comparable to Obama/Romney.

Here's a thought... What would be more damaging to the Republican Party? A Trump defeat or a Trump presidency?
Defeat surely?

I assume you're asking if a car crash presidency would he worse? House R's could distance themselves over a few years from him as POTUS, no?

Both pretty bad. A Trump defeat might be slightly less damaging because they'll have time to distance themselves and unite behind an establishment candidate like Rubio or Ryan.

Is Rubio actually a likely candidate for 2020? I don't know much about him, but after seeing him get destroyed by Chris Christie I just can't take him seriously. Like he just humiliated himself to such epic proportions, I can't believe how dim witted he was. If I was American I could never get past that and vote for him, it was that embarrassing and it said a lot about him.

I don't think it will be, we are just having a brief lull. Early voting in NV, NC and FL are very good for her.

Rs will migrate back somewhat, but his ceiling remains and late deciders will break for Clinton. Nobody likes voting for a loser.

That's not even taking into account the supposed smoking guns yet to drop.

I struggle to see him recovering now, Trump embarrassed him too.

He could come back stronger, having learned from his mistakes and be a contender for 2020. Would not be the first time in US history a primary loser came back and won in the future. He could also be destroyed as a viable candidate.

Bush (aided by being VP for a very popular President and running against Dukakis), Reagan, HRC (let's face it she ran a poor campaign vs Obama), Nixon, Grover Cleveland (won first time out, voted out of office, came back to win a 2nd term) to name a few.

Adlai Stephenson lost twice to Ike (52 and 56), yeah the 2nd time he was put out as a sacrificial lamb because nobody wanted to run against Ike.

@JustAFan Tbf Cleveland was somewhat robbed. He never lost the popular vote in an election.

The 19th century Al Gore?

the popular vote is not what decides the winner though, so robbed is not the correct word since everything was done all quite legally and by the same process that saw him elected twice. Did not even take any court involvement to start or stop recounts, etc.

Yeah that was a bit tongue in cheeks tbh. Although, 12 years prior to that election, it's probably fair to sayTilden was robbed. Republicans and Hayes bought the presidency by ending Reconstruction.

Another day of the deplorables

This bellend was elected to Congress in the 2010 Tea Party wave. But sure, Drumpf is just an anomaly

Has anybody seen any nutty 2nd Amendment type ads from nutters running for congress and other downballot positions? They are always good for a bit of light relief.

I heard a few 'Hillary wants to take your guns' ones on the radio over there.
