No wonder people are excited about Lukaku if that's how he is, I must have been watching the wrong one all these years.

Weirdly enough, he played against us a lot, people have been worried a lot and laughed at him a lot after the games. Because he couldn't beat the likes of Blind.

They wanted to sell him and that's why entered into negotiations with us.
They were open to letting him go (for a hefty sum) since he wanted to be a starter. They preferred keeping him, as he's an incredible back-up to have.
I think they did want to sell him, but wanted to fleece us in the process. Probably thought we were 100% committed to him when he was probably a backup and maybe even a diversion tactic...
Madrid are a lot of things, but dumb enough to risk driving away the only club interested in a player they supposedly wanted to sell, just to make an extra €10m? Nah, mate.

Hate can get in the way of logic. It's not absurd to think that they want to rip us off after what we did to them last season with DDG and the fax machine.

Who was 17. And playing under Moyes..
Fairly sure Rooney wasnt 17 in 2013..... if Luaku was anything like the Everton version of Rooney then this signing would be cause for setting up a new national holiday

Haha.. I totally misunderstood the post

Serves real right for having a sheer balls to ask for £70m+ for such a bang average player, good luck getting anything near that, you greedy fecks. Their plan to finance most of the Mbappe deal through the sell of a back up striker was greed at its finest and now they're getting what they deserve.

Madrid have fecked up here. He wants to leave for regular first team football and greedy Madrid overplayed their hand.
There's no way he stays now if this is a move Morata had set his heart on and Perez fecked it up.

I feel really sorry for Morata. Real have played this really badly and Morata is the victim.

Because Morata is technically far superior and has a much higher ceiling, and he'd improve our style of football.
This, he's more adaptable. Lukaku is a goalscorer but you need to play to his strengths otherwise he brings nothing else to the side

You must be over the moon mate. You guys get to keep the best available striker currently in world football. If you sold him, you'd have no one available to replace such an amazing striker with. A dead cert to take Benzema's spot in a year or two.

On a serious note, how do the real fans feel about this?

Oh god. Not Lukaku. There goes any chance of skillful football and more stupid tweets from Pogba and Lingard. I want to scream.
You and me both! So so disappointed.
Boring, boring, boring, lump it up to the donkey football. That's not what Manchester United is about.

My worry is that we don't have the players (at least not in form) to bring the best out of Lukaku while Morata would have improved our overall play more.

Oh i hope they did and are, what a way to feck up a nice little transfer merrygoround. Most the fee covered and one less striker on the books so a place to be filled. Nice one Perez

Well deserved. The prick tried lowballing us for De Gea for 2 summers then wanted to rip us off for Moratta just to fund his next galactico wet dream.

Id say if we sign him, Jose will certainly play to his strengths. Personally would prefer Morata, more of a team player, more adaptable and more ability to improve a team.
Watch him sign for Chelsea and shine for them...

He was second only to Kane last season, Everton aren't that much more creative than us. He's not gonna be flash but he will guarantee us 25 league goals at least. Good signing all things considered in the end.

Have to feel for Morata though who was probably sold on coming here to have his hopes dashed like this.

Perez deserves a disgruntled player.

I feel sorry for Morata. Perez has fecked him over. Chelsea surely in for him now though?

Chelsea will get him cheaper (probably) than what we were offering which will be annoying.

Why? I don't think Real will budge tbh

Don't they want to fund their Mbappe bid? Morata has already told them he wants out too.

Don't see why they'd keep him.

You're paying for Lukaku what we wanted for Morata. How did we feck it up? You wanted lukaku more, simple as that. Nothing's changed, if nobody's willing to pay €80M for him, we're more than happy to keep our second-highest scorer in our most successful season in 60 years.

I think they will sell him, but not below their asking price.

Yes because it was Perez and Real Madrid who reached out to the player, promised him a starting role, agreed terms and then wouldn't meet the asking price Real Madrid wanted and then went out and offered that exact asking price on another player.

Real Madrid aren't the cnuts here.

...so why were you looking for 70 plus million last season for him before all of this? Perez psychic abilities?
Thinking you would get 150m for James and Morata. Delusional.

When Man Utd refuse to match your price then you know it's too fecking high

Real use Morata for a bargaining tool for what 2-3 Summers now? Can't see how United is at fault here if this one falls through. Real are asking for the same amount for a player that is not in the first eleven and trying to sign a 19 years old to push him in the pecking order whilst for the same asking price you get one of the top PL strikers for a team where he's a definite starter?
