No, its exactly what he wants to do in a world cup year. He wants to play. Real keep him in reserve. No good for Morata or Spain. He wants out. Thats why this is happening.
He does want to play and at Madrid he won't have that opportunity but i think his love for Real Madrid is unquestionable, as witnessed by him leaving to improve himself and rejoining. If he moves elsewhere and has a stellar year, he would gladly go back to Madrid anytime they come back interested.

He might want to play at madrid but they basically feckin him over. They exercised a buyback for a low €30M only to sit him on the bench. They are buying Mbappe and have Asensio getting more game time as him right now. Under ZZ's idea of using his own players that he knows from already being at the club. He is clearly not Zidanes man.

Yeah, that €10 million+ could be crucial to the finances of your club and your future transfer dealings. I think you can be more than happy with quoted price.
We are also paying for potential. It's a little bit strange when you say that and he is already 24 years old but he hasn't been given proper chance to be the main man yet on a regular basis and when you look at his qualities he can develop into a world-class striker.
I am more for buying still young, a motivated player with potential than not so motivated player who already reached his peak and isn't so eager to prove.
As for your other issue, he was let go by Madrid twice already. I don't think he will be coming back and if he does that would be because he reached a crazy level of performances after few years. All the more reasons to buy him IMO. Also, they will have Mbappe as their striker as things stand so I can't see him coming back there at all.
There is zero logic to that last line. If they fleece us for Morata we're not going to hand over De Gea for less money because we're skint and need to recoup it. If they play hardball, we will return in kind.

However I can still see this heading south, with him signing a new deal to stay at Madrid with assurances (tenuous or otherwise) of more playing time, and big Marca headlines trumpeting how Morata considered moving to United as a step down etc etc. Add in a few lines about how De Gea is still desperate to join Madrid and you've got yourself a nice bit of juicy propaganda.
Real can only play hardball for sometime. There won't be many clubs who will be willing to pay £62 million for morata, not because he is bad but because no club have this much money. Also, if not morata ,looks like we have other list to consider from aka belotti, lacazatte, lukaku. Real madrid knows that ultimately they have to accept. And not looks clear that morata wants to leave otherwise he won't be starting for spain in the world cup.
I'm surprised people are worried about this deal, Morata has been with the Spanish squad up until this morning which is most likely the reason for the hold up, I would expect things to pick up pretty quickly over the next 48 hours.
