why.... Be realistic that fee should only be for future Ballon D'or candidates, doubt Morata would ever reach that level even if he scored 30-50 goals a season, I can see him reaching peak Lewandowski levels
I've barely seen Morata, is he quick? I've seen clips and he doesn't seem slow for sure but couldn't tell if he was especially quick.

I think a Real fan here said he is faster than Bale, which I doubt but I guess that it means he is still pretty fast. I think he's one of those guys that's very fast over longer distances cos of his huge strides.
After watching this, maybe i'll upgrade him to a rating of Martial. Didn't realise it was was him that set up that Cuadrado goal against Bayern, unbelievable run. Also, I see what you mean, I forget he's pretty tall, his strides are large.

If folks followed the pogba thread closely, the "48 hours" shtick is used because they have no idea about his arrival date. They kept saying 48 hours for pogba because they had no idea it was going to be announced as he left his holiday.
Pedrosi is a good journo, he was well versed on the pogba deal, but time frames are not his strong suit. I'd imagine this deal is now done and it all about lawyers okaying everything and getting ready for his trip.

Most Real fans seem to be bitter about the idea of selling him and would prefer selling Benzema. It seems that Benzema is just a better fit to partner Ronaldo.
I think they know Morata much better than all of us so based on that and what I have seen I would at least prefer him to Lukaku and Belotti and also an 18 yrs old who played one great season.

Personally I don´t think so. We all rate Morata but the offer is too good for a substitute and would be weird to lose 70/75m€ when we can use the money to buy Mbappé, besides he wants more prominence in the team and Madrid won´t assure him that.
We would be leaving a Spanish player(a year before world cup) without the possibility of relaunching his career and without a significant economic improvement
He is just 24 so still has plenty of room for improvement. I reckon we are getting the best striker available.

I am really wondering that you guys put so much faith into Mbappe. He played a great season but so did Memphis or Renato Sanches.
And everytime people are saying "but THIS guy is something special/different" etc.
Might become the next Ronaldo but I am not so keen on signing him for United. At least not for 100 Mio +.
Also if you buy him I am not sure he would fit in at your current set up. Would be a good partner for Morata though.

Imagine that he goes to another top club repeating a similar season with the World Cup in the summer. Surely we would have lost the option to sign him in the medium term.
Most elite strikers have good numbers at that age and continue progressively improving their numbers as the years pass, so someone who is able to get it with 18, in champions and showing so much maturity could be considered unusual.
I'm surprised that United pay 100 million for Pogba, being a midfielder and then there are so many doubts about Mbappe. He will surely fit into the system.
In any case it is a gamble. Obviously winning two champions have given the club peace for a while with the possibility of making a mistake
