Happy to get him for £60 million if true. I think he's not far off Griezmann's level, younger than Griezmann, and cost half the price. Value.
Plenty of time for all parties to deny all knowledge.Do you guys really think this will go this smoothly? That Monday will arrive and we will see him doing a medical and he signs? Where is the drama in that? Where are the tears and it's on and it's off moments? At least we might have a flight tracker.
They'll spend €140m on Mbappe.
jose said it publicly a striker was wanted. Griezmann fell through, so we think, zlatan out.How is it the club's fault that Zlatan got injured then? In your post you said "the club have made it so obvious a striker is desperately needed, clubs want to fleece. rookie mistake"
How is it a rookie mistake for our main striker to get a huge unforseeable injury?
Seems a big risk to spend that much on someone so inexperienced, but I guess they can afford to gamble with the squad they have. They'll spend €140m on Mbappe.
He got into a bust up with Zidane I think in April due to being subbed. He's no fool and knows that as long as Benzema is there his first team games against the better teams will be limited. They also have made it absolutely clear they are after Mbappe who is also much younger the Morata, which would mean he'll be 2nd or even third choice if they get him and Benzema is still there. But Morata is key for Real Madrid. He was their second top scorer last season. Also, Morata being a Madridista would mean that it is highly unlikely for him to get unsettled. We are stuck between a rock and a hard place here unfortunately.
agree. the mbappe fee is mental as feck.Seems a big risk to spend that much on someone so inexperienced, but I guess they can afford to gamble with the squad they have.

Fair point. It's not just the new ownerships pumping money but TV and, through a most generous revenue sharing scheme, we get a bit screwed relative to the top cñubs in the continent.
That said, if we shared it like La Liga does it wouldn't be a league which a club like Leicester can win and then the TV deals are unlikely to be the same.
Either way, I'm not too fussed. I'd rather be where we are than where Real, Barca, Bayern or Juve are. Not current quality or 6th, but the challenging environment. I find Real/Barca/Bayern pretty boring to be honest, also Juve these days (not in the 80s/90s).

£100m would not get you Harry Kane. Not happy if this happens.
€70million for him and potentially another £40million on perisic. I would knock both of them players and that is a lovely chest to go and get a world class out and out striker who has proved his worth in the prem.... Harry Kane.
with levy? itd buy you one bollock£100m would not get you Harry Kane.
Mbappe has much higher ceiling mate. €140m is crazy money, but if I have to choose between getting Morata and Perisic or Mbappe for the same fee Id ave the latter. Surely many would opt for the same. Quality over quantity.Yep.
It's funny, if we went and spent €140m on an 18 year old there would be people on here absolutely losing their shit about us overpaying for an unproven kid with only one good season that could be a one season wonder etc etc.
Those very same people will instead moan when Madrid do it that they're getting what they need and showing themselves to be the biggest team and that we can't compete etc etc.
If an 18 year old striker with 15 career league goals is worth €140m... how much would a 24 year old Ronaldo, with 120 goals from the wing and a Ballon d'Or be worth these days? £400m?agree. the mbappe fee is mental as feck.

He's one of the better #9's but come on...
agree. no fecker cared or gave a shit about mbappe last summer. even in jan he wasnt hot propertyIf an 18 year old striker with 15 career league goals is worth €130m... how much would a 24 year old Ronaldo, with 120 career goals from the wing and a Ballon d'Or be worth these days? £250m?
What about the 2 years prior, or you are only as good as your last? He's only scored 1 league goal less, and 6 less goals overall. With regular games, I seriously think he can do better.
Almost a certainty. They will have 140 million from Morata and James. I really can not see Mbappe going anywhere else.
You could make a youtube vid of Lingard and he would look like Messi. But jokes aside, he really does look like someone who will fit in Mourinhos system. I have not seen him play much either but it seems that he plays well when he gets the chance.Well im just back from watching a few yt clips of his juve and rm days... Damn im just super excited, just got the muppet juices flowing heavy.
Hes tall, great technique, enough pace and strong enough for a wednesday evening at stoke (haha messi)... Hes just the front man that mourinho usually deploys. Im chuffed for this! Please ed, dont screw this one up

I thought Mbappe was a done deal a week ago, but there's talk of Benzema getting a new contract and if Bale is also staying then someone is going to the bench. That would probably be Benzema, but Zidane is in love with him so I'm having hard time accepting that.
Wouldn't surprise me if we don't sign anyone (except Llorenete and Vallejo returning from loan).
The problem with James, despite his quality, is that we have too many playmaker/advanced midfielder/winger options, with Mkhitaryan, Mata and Lingard. I'm not seeing us buying 4 players, two forwards and a winger plus a playmaker, just on the attack.

I certainly do not get all this hype about Mbappe. His performances in the Champions league doesn't make him a 130-140m player. Whoever pays that for an 18 year old who's barely played a full season is just stupid.
Not happy if this happens.

He wants to stay at Spurs and they want to keep him. So ... I don't think that would work. Not happy if this happens.

Griezmann has constantly been Atletico's best player, 3rd in Ballon Do'r last year, top scorer at the EURO's and only year and a half older. He's much better player than Morata is at the moment.Griezmann has constantly scored around 20 league goals a season on average for the last 3 years. If Morata stays fit and is the focal point of our attack, he can match that.

Because we're the equivalent of Bayern, best team in the league. Will people stop going on about Harry Kane. Levy is not a fool. He will not sell us Harry Kane. They will be going to a new stadium soon. They are on the up. Why are our fans so arrogant that they think clubs should just give us their players? The only way Kane will be sold is if they start failing down the line.
Exactly. Zlatan's injury has changed what he wanted. I actually thought he would buy both him and Griezmann. That would have been some double act. So we either need another No. 10 or he will have to trust what we have and hope they can produce some goals. Not sure why he's being compared to Griezmann as there was no way in a million years Mourinho wanted the Frenchman as his number 9; not a chance.
Morata is a proper Mourinho number 9, something we desperately need due to Zlatan's injury.
I wish.Because we're the equivalent of Bayern, best team in the league.
