Our problem is not being clinical, so how is he the answer? He scores like 5 goals a season.

Nah thanks. Belotti please.

Not really a fan. Don't think he's good enough to be the main goalscorer for any team with a title ambition. Might be okay as the second option with Greizmann playing behind him

He wont cost that much, hes a backup player

30m sounds about right.

A non clinical attacker? Is that really what we should be going for?

As a sub I'll welcome him. As a starter definitely no. Will prefer getting Griezmann and playing him as a striker instead.

He can do everything else but score goals. No thanks.

These quotes just from one page! Not really doing it for a lot on the Caf

I still don't get why we ain't going for Kane, He's young and PL proven. The money that's being flung about this window I'd take Kane for £100m any day of the week!!!

Probably because Spurs would tell us to feck off, and Kane by all accounts is perfectly happy there.

Not for sale. Even if we kept on bidding more and more Levy would take it to the end of the window and then say no once more.

Levy won't sell him for 150 mil. That's the problem
Under normal circumstances, he would be a 30-40m type player. However this year's market is inflated by at least 50-100% from last year.

Thanks lads.

Candena SER are reliable from what I remember of past transfer windows?
Very. I remember them clearly announcing that Thiago would sign for Bayern when everyone else was saying Manchester United and it broke my heart.

If you take a quick look at where they sign players from, the vast majority are signed from other german clubs.
Robben
Costa
Coeman
Ribery
Thiago
Vidal
Sanchez
Martinez
Bernat
Alaba
Rafinha

Of course Lahm and muller are homegrown as is benko

Lewendowski was technically a free agent and not signed from another club but even if you count him
Hummles
Kimmich
Ulrich (reserve keeper)
Neuer

So 11 vs 5 or 6

One of us must be shit at math because I can't see how the vast majority of their signings are from German clubs

Before we knew just how much players would cost this year. The Pogba deal has set the standard now to where selling clubs know how much big buying clubs are willing to spend to keep up with their rivals.
Fair enough, I thought it was obvious given, as you say, Pogba and all the money being pumped into the PL. I expected the world record to be beaten at least once this summer although it's not looking like it yet.

Edit - maybe Madrid with Mbappe

This. Great post. Worth swimming in all the noises in this thread.
Economic 101. Learn it moaners!
No its not. Say you go on holiday to the Namibian desert and get lost. You come across a shop in the middle of knowhere just as you are about to die. So you ask for water. The arse knows your a rich stupid tourist. So he says he wants 10 grand wired to him and to fk you up the arse. Now its a sellers market and you probably would die. But you would still call him all sorts for ripping you off. Economics 101 dessert styleeee.

Not going there on holiday.:nervous:

Called it.

How is his movement? His pace and finishing is decent, but I haven't caught up on his movement yet.

Been one of our biggest weaknesses this season imo, Rashford not experienced enough, Martial not good enough and Zlatan too static.

Not sure if serious but- in your analogy the buyer is shopping for the first time in that market, is desperate and is stupid. None of those apply to us. We're not run by a bunch of village idiots as some would have you believe. Ed is a very shrewd businessman and we have an even more smarter buyer in Jose giving the input.

Oh and I don't think anyone is stupid enough to pay 10K for water. Would come down to desperation.

Youve just explained supply and demand. :wenger:

I think it started long before the pogba deal.

Pogba was really the first transfer that smashed the record for a player many felt that despite being very good, was not worth that much. Clubs now know that wealthy clubs competing with one another for the best players are able to spend a lot more than what they did before last year. We're dealing with a brand new transfer world starting this summer and the prices will just keep going up.

Exactly. Even if supply is low and demand is high that doesn't mean you can't get ripped off. People think in these market conditions you can't get ripped off and pay whatever. Buy you can.

The money Southampton want for VVD is a warning as well. A lot of teams haven't done business yet and they might get a surprise.
