You'd swear we had Messi Suarez and Neymar up front with the way so many of our fans turn their noses up at quality players. It's so strange.

Aye, it's hilarious. Another excuse is that he's a bench warmer. Well so would other 90% of players be if they had Bale, Benzema and Ronaldo in front of him.

Welbeck couldnt score 20 times in a brothel.

Are we even being linked with Morata seriously?

According to @carvajal the journalist who wrote the Marca article about Jose liking Morata is respectable. So I guess so.

I'll beat you right now those 3 strikers have better careers than Morata who just seems to be a top club journey man at the minute.

Except for this season there goal scoring record is the same. If Welbeck could stay fit I'm sure he could funder a 15 goal season too. Very disrespectful to put him next to Kane he's in another league.

I'll take that bet! How much?

Morata is marrying his italian gf on Jun 15 and considering a move to AC Milan though.

£30. Tenner a year. Got to classify better career though. So goal tally, medals, personal honours. Otherwise we are still looking at matter of opinions.

Sure, and if one of the 3 fails to beat Morata I win? I'm thinking more like £100 or more though if it should be worth the wait.

Apparently he's flown to Milan to seal the deal with AC Milan. It's a shame because he's a great player.

Milan has a lot of money, they are also interested in Fellaini.

He would have been my preferred choice for next season. Really curious to find out who we are targeting.

Glad he's going to Milan, can't say I was fussed about him coming here. I think he might struggle in the Premier League.

sure sure, Zidane must have given him a special permission during the week leading to the CL final :D
I think that if MU was really interested it would be a no contest for Milan, that seems ready to do a good transfer campaign but is very unlikely to compete for the title next year and will not be playing in the CL. Lots of the rumors about Milan teams are just garbage put out by the pink paper of Milan that has to pump up the excitement in order to sell (same as the Turin based daily for Juve of course). I am sure he is a target but I doubt that he has already and especially that Milan is his first choice.

He is a great player and managed to score a lot despite starting very few games for Real.

Genuinely never wanted him. Better strikers could be obtained for cheaper. Auba would probably be cheaper.

I just feel he lacks that extra bit to be in the top tier. He's like a poor man hybrid of Zlatan and Kane. Don't get me wrong, cos i am not saying he is a Welbeck. Rather, he seems to possess many good qualities of a striker without truly excelling in either. Like a 7/10 in every quality (pace, heading, finishing, dribbling, technique) for a tall striker which makes it so unique and pleasing to the eye, given tall strikers are rarely comfortable on the ball or running and taking on defenders. If he had been a 5'11 or 6' striker, i don't think he will even play for a top club.

One of the most overrated players around. Before this season he never scored more than 8(EIGHT!!!) league goals in a year. To think that he could be the lead striker for a top team is just laughable.

One of the most overrated strikers in the world. He is not even good at what he is supposed to do - score goals. His record at Juve was really bad and playing at Real against midtable teams is easy when the team usually scores 5-6 goals against them.

Edit: just saw a post above :D At first I thought I posted twice :D

Watch him score 25 at Milan next season. Also hope this doesn't mean we go for Bacca as a desperate last minute singing because surely he'll be leaving now.

Agree with the better, though probably not for cheaper with the way the market seems to be going.

Why? What makes him Premier league unfit?

I don't see who these better options are, Aubameyang is in the right system but that is not the system Jose plays. Belotti is not as good at holding the ball up, has no European experience and plays in a poor league, and the only other option is the technically deficient and grossly overpriced one dimensional Lukaku.

Bringing Morata lack of league goal is missing bit of context. He has never started more than 15 games for Juventus or Madrid.

His mins per goals+assists in last seasons

2014-15:
Serie A: 8 goals + 5 assists in 1321 mins. 101 mins per G+A
CL: 5 goals in 744 mins. 148 mins per G+A

2015-16:
Serie A: 7 goals + 7 assists in 1456 mins. 104 mins per G+A
CL: 2 goals + 2 assist sin 544 mins. 136 mins per G+A

2016-17:
La Liga: 15 goals +4 assists in 1334 mins. 70 mins per G+A
CL: 3 goals + 1 assist in 166 mins. 41 mins per G+A.

Very good striker for whoever signs him.

Never fancied Morata as I could never quite get the hype. He's not impressed me when I've seen him (bunch of times) and clearly he didn't impress his managers enough either. Unlike James, it's not even like he's behind the best players in the world for their positions. People defend him by saying he's not played much - but maybe it's time to acknowledge that he's not played much because he was only seen as a backup? Frankly, there are better options out there - which also include signing Griezmann and a proper winger and then having Rashford and Martial playing as #9 as and when required - or playing formations with a false 9.

Happy he's not coming here. Never wanted him. He's the Spanish Welbeck.

Listen, there's obviously going to be some of this on this thread now, but many of us have never honestly bought into the hype for this guy.

60 million? Ffs

Rashford and Martial are not ready to lead the line as a No. 9. We still need a striker that can be depended to bang in the goals since Zlatan is not going to be here at the start of the season or doubt he'll even play for United again. We need a striker and Morata isn't bad at all. Everyone knows that he's a better striker than Benzema at the moment but due to Perez and Zidane, he's been more of a backup than a starter.

With that being said, even if we get Griezmann, we still need an out and out striker and I don't think Lukaku is worth the money and Belotti is a huge risk for the amount of money that Torino are quoting. That leaves us with a shortage of world class options. Then again, Morata's first choice is Milan, so we not even get him. We may face a crisis if we don't figure out our ST situation right now.

When your in the prime of your career why would you even go to AC Milan in its present state (even with the new owners in place). There are a hand full of other clubs he can go to that would at least give a much higher chance of silverware.

Have there been links to them wanting Fellaini? Would be a good move for him imo
There was an article earlier, i think before our last game by david amoyal. It said both milan clubs were interested in him, but i think he will stay and deservedly so.

I am not a fan of Morata either but Rashford is clearly not the answer yet. He just doesn't score enough goals.

Milan have been linked with quite a few big names so far, but there doesn't appear to be much cohesion to it.

Also, if Morata were good enough, Real would do everything to keep him and replace benzema with him. Young, Spanish, homegrown...Yet still on the market
