Edit: Although, if someone can point out which guys are definitely back in training, that would help :)

Valencia, RVP, Welbeck, Evans, Cleverley, Anderson and James Wilson all appear in the Getty Images training pics taken on thursday along with new signing Rojo. Injured list includes Carrick, Shaw, Fellaini and Lingard. A few players (Fletcher, Hernandez, Rafael, M.Keane) aren't obvious in the pics I've seen, so might be injured or simply might have avoided having their pic taken.

From the training clip, Hernandez, M.Keane was there and Powell too. It seems Ando did not care what ppl think when he trained :d

Janujai was wearing a... "bra" so i think we ve monitored his fitness and hope he can start on Sunday.

4 Real Madrid players + Hummels, just a little unrealistic...

True, that list would be more like what a muppet like I would come up with, rather than a paid commentator like Scholes.

    ---------De Gea
    -----Jones--Evans----Rojo
    Rafael---------------------Young
    -------Anderson---Herrera-------
    ------------Mata------------------
    --------RVP--------Rooney----------

I'd say give Anderson a chance.

    ?

Mata had very good end of last season for us(much better than Rooney btw who was bellow average in pretty much whole 2014), but even if Mata wasn't good that still doesn't have to do anything with your reason for dropping Mata, which was because Mata was invisible in the last game.

That is a reason, not the only one. I think Rooney is in better form and I want to get Wilson out there.

I realize this is unlikely to happen but I would love to see it.

I'm a fan of Mata but he's been underwhelming in preseason and in our first game.

No. Please no. We can not afford to drop 3 more points just to give Anderson his upteenth chance

Didnt Adnan announce himself in this fixture last season with 2 goals to turn around a 1-0 deficit?

Going for 1-6 United. Januzajx 3 Mata and Rooneyx2.
We're to really smash someone, the last time we scored at least 5 (and didn't also concede 5) was in 11/12. Who better than Sunderland!

Anderson.....hahahhahahaha.....1- 6 United, I just died laughing, it will be a tame draw 1-1, LVG will resign and the Glazers will finally be in the transfer market...this time to transfer their ownership!!!

    Would a 4-3-1-2 work?

    ------------De Gea------------
    -Rafa--Smalling--Evans--Rojo-
    ------------Fletcher------------
    -----Herrera---Cleverley------
    -------------Mata---------------
    --------RVP------Rooney------

If not, then just the 3-5-2

    -------------De Gea-------------
    -----Jones---Evans----Rojo-----
    Rafa-------------------------Young
    --------Herrera--Fletcher---------
    ---------------Mata----------------
    ---------Rooney---RVP---------

Good to see Wilson and Persie back in training. I would love to see both on the bench or even start against sunderland but if that's too soon, start them against mk dons in the league cup.

I really like your pessimism.:lol::lol:

But yes, I do not see anything better than a draw here. :(:(

    Johnstone also injured.

I think our team will look something like this:

    ------------De Gea
    ----Smalling-Evans-Rojo--
    Jones-------------------Young
    ------Fletcher-Herrera-------
    ------------Mata---------------
    -----Januzaj---Rooney------

Januzaj has to play. It's getting more obvious every game that he's actually our best player.

let's hope a lot of the players back in training are ready to start. It was a joke how many players we had out for game 1, and massively biased us to be negative I think.

Rafael, Valencia, VP, Welbeck, Evans. If we can field 3 of those we'll be in a lot better state

Amazing how United have kind of become an easy team to face for opposition fans, just heard Barry Glendenning (Guardian journalist who is a Sunderland fan) say on Football weekly that if RVP didn't play then he is pretty confident that Sunderland would beat this United team. Desperately need some big wins to get the fear factor back. Just need to get the first goal and I think that will kind of calm this team down. This team may not be title winning quality but it still has a lot of good players and all we need is 2-3 wins in a row to get the confidence back

    --------DDG---------
    ---Smalling Jones Evans---
    Rafa-----------------------Young
    -------Fletcher Herrera------
    -----------Mata-------------
    ------RVP Rooney--------

Hope we'll win this game and play good football. Everything wasn't bad the last day against Swansea because the starying XI wasn't good, the subs didn't gave us a lot (but Adnan)

Now that more regular starter are fit, I hope that the shape of the team will be better, with more flair and speed with Januzaj as a strater upfront giving him freedom with Rooney leading the line. With Evans back we should be better defensively and with two real defenders in Rafa (or Valencia) and Rojo down the wings we should be more balanced also. If we're not good offensively change the team in a classic 4-2-3-1

    --------------------------------De Gea------------------------------------
    ----------------------Jones-----Smalling-------Evans----------------------
    Rafael------------------Fletcher--------Herrera------------------------Rojo
    ---------------------------------Mata------------------------------------
    ---------------------------Rooney---Januzaj------------------------------

    --------------------------------De Gea------------------------------------
    Jones-------------------Smalling--------Evans-------------------------Rojo
    ------------------------Fletcher--------Herrera---------------------------
    Valencia-------------------------Rooney----------------------------Januzaj
    --------------------------------RVP--------------------------------------

Not a great fixture for us following Swansea, we need a response. A tough away game this, I predict a point (which I think at any other period we'd take) and then even more 'turmoil' from the forums.

Like this team if Rojo feels ready. Pretty bold to play him, would happily give Blackett another run out. Think Jones could cover at RWB.

One good win is what LVG really needs get a bit of pressure off and then hopefully we will bring in someone or 2 before close of window and then we can get people bedded in. We just need our big players to step up, Rooney to get involved, Mata to do what he's capable of. And Herrera to show the promise he's showed so far and dominate the game.

    ---------------De Gea
    -------Smalling Evans Rojo
    Valencia-----------------Young
    ---------Fletcher-Herrera
    --------------Rooney
    ---------Januzaj---RVP

Drop Mata IMO as much as I love him. This will be a very tough game.

I'm getting the razor blade out if we line up like that
The last 2 games against Valencia and Swansea Mata was invisible! It was like playing with ten men. Just think Rooney in the the no.10 role would be better because Mata just isn't clicking right now.

I also thought about dropping Mata but for me that could then lead to LvG's favorite 4-3-3

    ................De Gea
    Rafael - Jones - Evans - James
    .Herrera - Fletcher - Cleverley
    ..Januzaj - Rooney - Kagawa

Yeah, this is something strange to me. LvG plays 3412 due to the personnel in the team and getting the best out of his best players.

Let's assume, best players = Rooney, van Persie, Mata.

If you don't pick one or two of your best players (no longer needing to find a system to fit them all in) why do you pick the more unconventional system (other than continuity for continuity's sake)? You could argue that we don't have world class wingers, but I don't think people would be too unhappy to see Valencia and Januzaj on the flanks, with Rafael/Jones and Rojo at full back...

If you're thinking of a line-up and want to drop Mata, you should probably look at going 4231/4411. If not, then the only logical changes are Kagawa in for him, or playing Rooney there with van Persie/Welbeck up front. Maybe Januzaj in the hole, or Herrera/Fellaini? None of this seems like a straightforward improvement for me after one Premier League game.

I do actually think we'll win this, especially if RvP and Rojo are ready, i think they'll make a big difference to our overall game, especially if Mata and Herrera play the ways we know they can.

I'd love to see him play Kagawa in midfield with Fletcher.

No doubt he'll play Kagawa against MK Dons instead.

So Fletcher-Cleverley or Fletcher-Kagawa? Shite either way for a midfield two. Rojo not available either. Going to guess:
    De Gea
    Jones Smalling Blackett
    Rafael Fletcher Kagawa Young
    Mata
    Rooney Van Persie

Wish we could change scoreline predictions. Now that we've lost Herrera and found out that Rojo won't have a permit in time I don't think we'll win. :(

I think our team will look something like this:

    ------------De Gea
    ----Smalling-Evans-Rojo--
    Jones-------------------Young
    ------Fletcher-Herrera-------
    ------------Mata---------------
    -----Januzaj---Rooney------

Januzaj has to play. It's getting more obvious every game that he's actually our best player.
Think I agree with you, he is with DDG, Rooney and Mata are not reaching their levels.
