Eriksen has been good for Denmark both before the summer and in Nations League, so I am not that worried. At least he is better than Casemiro. But for Denmark he plays in Bruno`s postion, where Eriksen is best.

In defence of Rashford, he’s put quite a few chances on the plate for Garnacho, Mount and Zirkzee but they’ve missed sitters. And his workrate has been better than Garnacho’s in the opening games.

If we dont include against City. If we do, he came off the bench to score a great goal. More than Rashford has done this season

No goals no assists. He did create more last game. But Garnacho has had one good game off the bench

What would be really sensible in a midfield which is already wide open, would be to replace Casemiro with the only squad player whose legs have gone more.

    Sacking himself.

Surely Eriksen is in there for ball progression and to dictate the tempo against a side we should be able to do that against?

It baffles me that ETH treats new signings like they’ve never kicked a ball before.

Eriksen is the best passer we have in midfield. He isn't great defensively but his presence means we have more of the ball and we can move it forward better. Lots of disrespect for Eriksen here, he isn't that bad.

Brave selection from Erik ten Hag prioritising attack.

Onviously wants the ball played out of midfield quickly to get at the Saint's back three.

    See how it goes.

I don’t understand why Garnacho is suddenly dropped this season

Scored in the FA cup final…then the Community shield and hasn’t played since

Easy to forget, as I understand he was terrible, but he did start the last match.

My prediction is that we will boss the game for around 25 minutes...then Eriksen will hit a brick wall and Southampton will be all over us until half time. Then, hopefully Ugarte will be brought on for the second half and return us to some stability in the middle.

Hopefully we will have scored a goal or two early on, but if we fudge our chances as we have done recently then I can see us struggling. I just don't want us to be chasing the game and throwing on a jaded Casemiro to try and win.

This will come down to fine margins! - anything can happen in the next 2 hours!

That lineup  I said before that he won't play Ugarte. I reckon he'll try to avoid playing him at all because it wasn't his signing, hence all the talk about him not being ready.

Rashford must always play of course. Absolute shambles of a manager. A full summer of signings and a lineup that looks worse than last season.

Or...you know, there are viable explanations for your frustrations?

Ugarte is 100% Ten Hag‘s signing.
He is jetlagged, came back on Thursday.

Who would you replace Rashford with? Garnacho has been poor.

    Absolute shambles of a post.

How much longer is this f*cking nonsense of not starting Garnacho going to go on?" Now now striker or wingers. This "plan" ETH has got.... has he spoken to his psychiatrist about it?
Did you miss the Liverpool game where he started and was rubbish?

Everyone knew he wouldn’t play Ugarte as he said he needs time to adjust. He’s played a few international games but hasn’t consistently trained for the last month. He’ll come on in the second half and be interested exactly how Casemiro was in his first season.

We have 2 DMs (well, 1.5). Both on the bench in place of a guy with zero pace and about 5 years + a literal heart attack past his peak

Need some goals from our attackers. Let’s get some confidence! Want to see a positive GD

I’m absolutely thrilled that club football is back!

Let's put in a strong performance today, secure those three points, and build some winning momentum.

We’ve already shown we’re capable – we outplayed Fulham, and on another day, we should’ve beaten Brighton.

The start this season has been miles ahead of last year, and while I’ve got some concerns about the attack, I’m hopeful they’ll click into gear soon.

Time to push on and make this season count!
I have a feeling you will require a dark room in which to lay your poor head later.

If we’re not going to win by at least 4 goals I’m not going to watch the game and support my team.

It baffles me that ETH treats new signings like they’ve never kicked a ball before.

He usually does that. Antony and Mazraoui had to start because there werent other options but otherwise he slowly intregrates them into the starting line up. I find it strange too.

Worst moment was hen he kept Casemiro on the bench for McT when Casemiro joined the club and he was still the Real Madrid version of Casemiro. Casemiro on the bench for McT!

That’s a bold XI against a team we really should be beating regardless. De Ligt and Martinez will need to be on it all game.

Going for a counter attack approach with Eriksen? Could work given Southampton’s possession based approach.

Please don’t break this record ETH. Not lost to them away for over 8 years

Do you really believe this?

Not the worst team, Eriksen is gonna just ping balls about and create chances for our forwards against the Saints back 3.

Zirkzee hattrick, diallo with a brace, Rashford 14 shots and zero goals, Dalot with a screamer from 35 yards. Fernandes 3 penalties converted.

    10-9 Southampton.
