Expecting Mainoo to be run over in midfield. Unless the idea is to for Eriksen and Mainoo to run themselves into the ground for 45 mins and then play Casimero and Ugarte the next 45 with Collyer as a late option if required

Southampton are truly terrible but my god that midfield. I can understand trying that at home when we're going to dominate possession but Southampton are at home and will press the midfield more rather than sitting back.
Seems a bit suicidal to me.
Seems insane. Ugarte has to start.We’ll have slightly more control in possession but it’s a recipe for disaster when we lose the ball.

Eriksen starting is a bit of a dodgy one. I guess he doesn't feel Ugarte is ready and doesn't want to put too much pressure on Collyer.

I don't see the logic in that. The one thing I expect from Southampton is that they will work hard for their first win in front of their fans. And with Eriksen in there we are already starting off weak. Maybe it'll be Bruno beside Mainoo and Eriksen up front. Even then the midfield is lightweight. The only way this works is if somehow turn into a possession team.

Rashford has yet to have a shot at goal.. how is he better than Garno?Eriksen playing as a 6 is very risky. Even at his age, I think he’s still a better 10. The only way I can see this working is if we reign in Mainoo so he has someone to play alongside and then make a change on the hour mark.- Status
