    Think Mata will come in for Lingard. Andreas Pereria will also start so think that will be the three behind Rashford. One injury and already a lack of options....

    Or you bring in Matic and push Pogba up to number 10 area.

    Think I read Nathan Redmond is major doubt for Southampton, got injured in their cup match the other night.

    Feels like a 1-1 to me.
     
    Think Ole's gonna go classic.

    Rashford up top, James left, Mason right.

    Pogba - Mctom in the mid - Mata in front of them.

    Standard back four with Young instead of Shaw.

    The three up front are young and fast, and hopefully hungry for goals. One or two good balls from Juan and we'll be cruising by half time.

    That’s the type of lineup that Jose would pick to send a message to Woody that he hasn’t got the right players. I would be massively disappointed if the two start in the same game, ever.

    You're right, I'm going to have faith in Ole not doing this to us.

    Really hope to see Greenwood replace Martial in the 11. Wouldn't mind Pereira replacing Lingard also.

    I think that's exactly what he will do. Pereira and Greenwood to replace Lingard and Greenwood. He has to bring meritocracy to the dressing room at least somewhat.

    I would move James to the right, Rashford down the middle and Greenwood on the left.
    Unfortunately, I think it will be Lingard instead of Greenwood and Periera on the right side
     
    If ole really trusts Greenwood like he says then he should start tomorrow as a number 9 with Rashford and James the other two attackers. I would also play Matic and McTominay so that Pogba can play more freely.
     
    I think Pogba plays too deep.

    Pogba has always struggled in a 2 man midfield pivot for us, and always will. He will show glimpses of quality but one way to solve the Lingard problem is to advanca Pogba.

    I''d go for:

    McTom Periera
    Greenwood Pogba James
    Rashford

    Mctom and Periera both have high workrate. They can be used to scupper Southamptons counters - move the ball quickly up.

    Greenwood on the right - due to Martials injury. James looks better on the left and surely Pogba can influence more than Lingard. Young has to play as Dalot/Shaw injured.

    Makes the most sense to me

    Looking for a 0-3 win

    We've become Banter FC. Where our predictions are based on just having a laugh. While people just buy replica shirts from the superstore and the board laughs at how they've somehow convinced our fanbase to accept this and joke.

    Just to offset some of the typical matchday thread negativity ... my son is backpacking in Europe. So he flew from Venice to Manchester for a tour of Old Trafford for the first time today. Unfortunately the tour start was brought up by 2 hours to accommodate the U23 game. He was so upset but I just got a message that he made it to the ground and it was the best day of his life! He had planned the trip before the schedules were released so to stay for the game tomorrow if it was at Old Trafford. So now he is going to the Southampton game - my brother found tickets but in the home section. He is so excited! His very first Utd game. I wish I was with him! I guess there is so much more to supporting our great team through thick and thin. Go Utd - we will win this game!

    Rashford hasn't played CF during pre-season or this year and he would probably interchange better with Greenwood going down the center and James on the right side. Pereria played well last year against Soton from a central position. Soton's CMs usually have good games against United, like Romeu for example. Ward-Prowse has such a good delivery as well.

    Ole this morning: "I'm trusting Anthony, Marcus and Mason to be our centre-forwards. We've got Chongy, Daniel James, Pereria - we've go loads of options." Mata isn't even in that sentence. Could go James - Rashford - Greenwood. Loads of excitement, but equally extremely unknown.

    Why to start a weak player if there is younger and better? Makes no sense at all.
