If Miki was fit I think he would have played 4-2-3-1. Breaking Southampton down will be key. The question now is whether he goes "like for like" with Rooney or the better player in Carrick necessitating a change in formation.

I doubt Carrick does start to be honest. Had a slight injury a few days ago and we beat Leicester, Watord and St Etienne at home without him, he played against Blackburn and the away leg for rotation. I assume its

One is all sharps turns, running with the ball and give and go's. The other can't even run and his trademark is to invariably switch the ball to his right and put a cross for Valencia. The point of Mkhi in the #10 position is speeding up our play and making us a threat on the counter. Rooney has the exact opposite effect. They are opposites of each other, not alike

Harder, sure. More important, no. Both cups are avenues to EL and we're in the final of this one so it's more important. After today our priorities are the EPL and the EL as they offer an avenue to CL. The FA Cup is lower down.

To be fair - there were quotation marks on "like for like. Not necessarily meaning the same player but more so the same position. At least that's how I understood it...

Well, the Chelsea match is important because of the "prestige" and then there's the Europa League too - CL spot. So I would prefer it if he avoided getting injured if it's not healed. Hate it when some take risks to play "just one match" and miss 4-5 matches instead.

My bad then, I misinterpreted. But yeah, I wouldn't Rooney from the start I'd rather have Rashford on the pitch if Carrick is going to sit it out. I'd only prefer Rooney ahead of Fellaini, if it came down to that. I think we need to attack Soton, not park 3 in midfield and then panic in the last 30 mins.

Big game as I feel a win will give us great momentum to carry through to the end of the season. Hoping we can lift our first trophy under Jose after only 8 months in charge

Hoping the boys can go out and do a professional job and show their top quality, as Southampton will be well up for this.

Been looking forward to this so much! First cup final I will be watching at home, missus is out, IPA is in the fridge, phone off the hook - couldn't think of a better Sunday outside of playing the game myself.
