Yep. Thank goodness we have a "kind" starting run which buys us time to make a couple of signings and get players fit.

If we'd had last seasons start we'd be in severe trouble.
Definitely. For once I'm glad there's such a long international break so early on in the season - usually it just annoys me, this time it's massively welcome. Hopefully we put those two weeks off to good use!

Kind of agree with everyone else in that Hernandez shouldn't be starting if we want some actual fluid, penetrative football going. We don't really have an alternatives other than an unfit Januzaj or a change in formation though.

Surely we can't possibly line up with two youngsters making their debut down the left hand side!

I just see it as we don't have any other choice if Evans, Shaw, Rafael and Valencia are all injured. Who can play on the RWB position other than Young with out Rafael and Valencia? And if Young play on the RWB them our only other option on the LWB is James.

The only change I can see is Fletcher as a CB with Cleverly on the midfield, but I think LVG likes a left footer or someone confortable playing with the left foot on the LCB position, so I don't see he playing Jones Smalling or Fletcher there.

We will see but that is the lineup I think he will play because of all the injured players.

If Welbeck is unfit, I hope we play Adnan as one of the two forwards.

    De Gea
    Jones Smalling Evans
    Young Fletcher Herrera James
    Mata
    Adnan Rooney

There's a doubt over Welbeck as well now?

For rucks sake, this is one of the few games he'd be a definite starter for!

Is this the injury from one of the friendlies? Or has he picked up a knock in training? Our injury problems are beyond ridiculous...

Would honestly much rather have Blackett starting to give balance to the three at the back.

    Three right footers doesn't work.

I think either Valencia or Evans will play. Blackett or James will start -- probably Blackett.

What i'd like to see on Sat. 1 striker unless RVP or Welbeck return. I just feel our overall play suffers when Hernandez starts.

    --------------------------De Gea

    --------------Jones-----Smalling----Blackett

    Young----------Fletcher---------Herrera-------James

    ------------------Mata-----------Kagawa

    ------------------------Rooney

    Subs.

    Johnstone
    Evans
    Januzaj
    Fellaini
    Hernandez
    Zaha
    Cleverley

Having to start 2 young players with no PL experience between them is serious signs that we need players.

    --------------------------De Gea

    ----------Jones--------Smalling-------Blackett

    Young------ Fletcher -----------Herrera---------------James

    ---------------------------Mata

    ---------Rooney -------------------Januzaj

If Welbeck is available maybe him instead of Adnan.

Pretty much the same as mine, the only reason i didn't start Januzaj in mine over kagawa is fitness level.

Thats how thin the squad is at the moment that most peoples are the same, went with Adnan because he looked lively off the bench the other night also like to see him up front

He'll be up for the game with that shiny new number 11 on his back. I think we should just drop Blackett in the deep end on sat. He's been our most consistent player on pre season in my opinion.

Agreed when you drop a player in the deep end it can go awful or excellent and he has the confidence and the ability also he will defiantly start he's been great pre season

i dont see the fuss around blackett he had a decent pre season but he wouldnt start for the majority of championship sides and i dont think he will make grade..

Well that's an exaggeration. Sure United fans might be overrating him currently, but he looks very comfortable back there and I wouldn't be worried at all about him if he started on Saturday. I'd be worried about james at lwb, but Blackett just looks comfortable on the ball, he's quick and strong, and hasn't really been caught out too much, apart from the opening few minutes against Roma where they could have had a few.

I'm not sure if he'll fully make it at United but I think he'd get a loan to a lower premier league side and play consistently, let alone the championship.

If they play a 4-4-2 with Bony and Gomis up front and try to pass around us we'll murder them. Be interesting to see how Monk sets them up.

Adrenalin will see us through to a 3-0 win even if he started Larry, Moe and Curly.

His current skill-set seems well suited to a 3 man defence. I tend to agree that if I was a Championship manager then I wouldn't be in a hurry to have him in my 4 man defence at either left-back or centre back. And yet I wouldn't have the slightest problem with him starting for United in the current system, or indeed playing 10-15 games this season.

Just realized we'll see potentially 4 debutants tomorrow, Herrera, James and Blackett probably starting and then hopefully lingard gets a sub appearance if we're comfortable! Certainly deserves it.

i just dont think blackett is premiership class yet.. send him on loan to a lower premiership side or a challenging championship where he will get 90mins week in week out..

on a different note i feel like a kid at xmas waiting for the game tomorrow..

Swansea are a good side and their football style was quite good the last couple season. That said though, if they try to match us we are going to tear them to shreds.

My prediction is 3-1. It will be nervy for the first 60 minutes and then we will settle down and wrap up the 3 points at home.

From the man utd website, so its there , just no timings yet.

"Louis van Gaal will address the press tomorrow ahead of his first competitive game as United manager. We'll be there and fully across what he has to say."

Who predicted a draw or a Swansea win on the score predictor?

Even Lawro expects an easy win for us ffs. Think about that, you're less optimistic than Mark Lawrenson!

If Welbeck is still injured I'd prefer just playing Kagawa instead of Hernandez he'll give us another player capable keeping the ball and who won't disrupt our fluid play.

Usually I'd be buzzing but given our injuries and lack of new players it has me slightly worried we could face a wake up call but unlikely since Swansea are very predictable these.

I've plumped for 2-1. Think we'll be comfortable but rusty going forward. Mata FK and Rooney.

Really, really hope Welbeck is fit. Right now he's the glue in our attack.

    De Gea
    Jones Smalling Blackett
    Young Fletcher Herrera James
    Mata
    Rooney Welbeck
