Makes sense that Rashford is in the squad given we have some absences, need a bench impact. Hope Casemiro is there.

    Onana
    Yoro De Ligt Martinez
    Mazraoui Casemiro Mainoo Dalot
    Amad Garnacho
    Zirkzee

Hojlund for Zirkzee, Eriksen for Mainoo, Antony or Maguire for Yoro, Rashford for Garnacho to be the subs today?

    Onana
    Maz deLigt martinez
    Amad casa mainoo dalot
    Eriksen Garnacho
    Hoijlund
Edit. Changed out rashford. Be subbed on for Garnacho I expect

Newcastle keep torching us straight through midfield with their power and athleticism. If there's no plan in place to contain that tonight, it's not going to be a pretty outcome.

Casemiro also with the squad. Will be confirmed later.
    Best be right.
Although it's hilarious that a few weeks ago everyone was saying Casemiro was "done" and shouldn't play for us again. Now widespread panic he's out!

I have a feeling wel win this and the Arsenal tie. feck Liverpool too why not.

    According to MEN-

Squad members: Andre Onana, Altay Bayindir, Tom Heaton, Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro, Lisandro Martinez, Godwill Kukonki, Toby Collyer, Christian Eriksen, Kobbie Mainoo, Casemiro, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Amad, Rasmus Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee

A loss tonight will make it very, very difficult for Amorim. Fingers crossed he picks the right team.

Lose this one and I think most on here will start to finally realise that we’re in a relegation battle, despite the dire form of the current bottom 3 teams.

Just can’t see us getting anything in this game. Newcastle are more aggressive and purposeful with the ball.

Next two games are free hits for him, I don't think any coach gets this team to pick up points against Newcastle and Liverpool right now given their form. If we fail to beat Southampton on the 16th he's in big trouble.

Context is everything though isn’t it? The panic is due to how few options we’ve got for various reasons, and he’s at least a human being with experience of playing as a midfielder.

Really? Talk about relegation is totally unrealistic. Even if we don’t improve we won’t go down. Worst case is 13-16.

I do expect we will lose, but I don’t think it will affect Amorim. The club went to extraordinary lengths to get him. If/when we’ve got the money he will be well backed. I still think he was the right appointment.

I'd go Maguire for Martinez and Garnacho for Eriksen personally but your comment on Rashford worries me as it would eradicate any of the position Amorim has taken so far if we bring him back in the squad now as we are low on numbers, there has to be a level set that he clearly isn't reaching in, if we allow him back for any reason the manager shows he can be pushed into folding, he needs to stay strong so people realise he won't lower his expectations.

Reports are that he's in the squad today...

It's not like Amorim has ever completely closed the door on him working his way back in.

It could also be a farewell appearance in front of the home supporters.

Even though our form has been terrible and we have lost our last 2 home games I can't see anything but a 3-0 home win, purely because we are Man United and should be beating everyone.
