Well if Ruben is the man I think he is he will tell Jason to feck right off if that happened.

Funny enough if we went 433 or 4231 with Onana, Mazraoui, Maguire, MDL, L Martinez
M Ugarte, K Mainoo, Bruno, Amad, R Hojlund, Rashford we might get 4 or 6 points out of those three games as two are at home, we need a couple of wins asap and I feel that Wilcox will tell him he has to play 4231 or 433 or he’ll be under huge pressure.

Lets put some money on that? United will not finish only "one space" away from LCFC.

Like what evidence do you have to back this up? Absolutely zero, so what is even the point in saying it? It really is crystal ball stuff.

RVN got 3 wins against 3 dog dirt teams - two against LCFC. Give him the job until the summer and it could go anyway.

Especially with these weak willed players knowing he only had a short stay. You think when the going got tough they would dig in for Ruud knowing he was gone in May anyway? We know their mindset. We know they would mail it in knowing they would get a french chance when the "real manager" comes in over the summer. History suggests this.

Oh, so Berrada is an idiot for believing that Amorim had the potential to improve our league position?

So would you say the comments from this guy are equally idiotic?.....

    https://www.redcafe.net/threads/rub...-sporting-release-clause.485329/post-32571950

We don't know what calculations Berrada did. But we do know you did your own math and came to the conclusion that the club "had to act now to give him a chance of achieving something in this season".

But now you are saying that RVN should have been kept on as caretaker and would have got us 8th to 12th? So one minute you're using your crystal ball to project what may have been, the next you are using hindsight to call Berrada an idiot for doing exactly what you were advocating for.

    Make is make sense man!

What are you talking about Ashworth being the "smart guy". His philosophy was to keep ETH and advocated for Southgate to replace him. And if Zirkzee was his one signing, then he had a 100% failure rate.

And i'm not sure why you are bad mouthing Berrada and Wilcox? Very inconsistent with previous comments....

Im not going to pull at the receipts of you saying how good Wilcox and Berrada would be, because quite frankly, i would need to ask the Caf to buy more data storage space!

So the "Too Many Chiefs Syndrome" has partly been resolved by removing Ashworth. If they felt he was a spare cog, best to cut ties. Employing Ashworth before Berrada was a big mistake.

On the footballing side, for me, the big mistake that was made was keeping ETH and further backing him. By all accounts, that was an Ashworth call. It cost the club millions and set us back a long way.

Yes, Amorim plays a different system than other coaches, but as you point out, only 3 or 4 players at best are good enough to help us move into a CL place. That would apply to a 3421 system, just as much as it would a 433. You have seen that some of this lot can't do the basics right now, so how relevant is the formation and system really?

So with that in mind, if the club believe in Amorim and think he is the best manager for MUFC, then he was the right appointment. No point in taking second best just because he may play a similar system to the last guy, when you think you need to replace most of the team anyway.
You forgot the most important point of all SJR is the controlling owner and will make all the big decisions and please remind me of his unblemished superlative record of owning clubs in professional football!
He has form for completely destroying what was their previously how ever bad we may of thought it was?

I’m sure Berrada and Wilcox are excellent at their previous roles, currently they are in new roles at Man United and they are working for SJR and INEOS for the first time, so that just made lots of sense, Dan Ashworth was also highly regarded but he’s experienced working with SJR and I’m sure he wouldn’t jump at the chance again, I do agree on ETH should have been sacked in summer, and Tuchel should have been appointed as 2/3 year short fix since he had PL experience and was flexible enough to play 343 or 433 or 4231.

It’s clear why RVN should have been kept on until the end of the season, he was able to get the best out of the players in a 4231 system, thus increasing their values so they could be sold to generate additional revenue to assist Ruben in a total rebuild.

RA needs his players, his squad, his pre season, why employ him when we can’t even afford a loan signing in January, bring him in June 2025, surely you agree with that scenario if he is radically changing the system, our squad doesn’t fit his style and if you think SJR won’t sack him, watch the pressure crank up to 10 if he loses the next two games, then gets 0-1 point from Saints and Brighton!

We all know 2/3 more defeats and SJR will tell Berrada or Wilcox to sack him!

    And you forgot to address...

Me challenging you on a bet that United wont finish just one place apart from LCFC.

The fact you were calling Berrada an "idiot" for not keeping RVN on until the end of the year, despite me showing you were praising Berrada in "acting now" to hire Amorim in November.

We can all be right about something after it has happened, but why would you praise someone for making what in your opinion was a good call in November, only to call him an idiot two months later?

Your certainty that RVN would have been better is based on what? A sample size of 4 games, 3 against dog dirt opposition? And the fact that he kept a 433?

Do you not think these players would down tools on RVN once the going got tough, because they were safe in the knowledge that he was only a caretaker and the new gaffer would come in during the summer?

Is our currently slump down to the formation? Can you point to a goal conceded that has been down to formation?

And you realy think SJR will have Amorim sacked after 2/3 more losses? We will lose 2/3 more games, for sure. First will be this weekend.

That realy is a dumb call. That would be 15mil down the drain, plus Amorims contract needing to be paid up for the next 2.5 years. Plus, whatever is needed to recruit the next manager. So the club would have 3 managers on the pay roll - two of which they fired. That is ridiculous. Especially when you are not even giving Amorim a transfer window.

You can not be the Man United manager in the Pl if you oversee 15 PL matches and have less than 1 point per game, and that’s exactly how SJR will view the situation, neither you nor I make any decision concerning Berrada, Wilcox or Amorim and Sir Jim did the same as me, actually worse he praised Dan Ashworth, bought him out of garden leave then sacked him 3 months later!

    Guess why?
He changed his mind just like me,
Consistent Faure will do that, it will make you react spontaneously, now if Ruben can stabilise the club and get 1.35 points per game which is still less than ETH, however better than relegation. Form, then I like SJR reserve my right as a non influenced, fully sane, independent human being to change my mind once more!

So let’s be clear here, if he has managed to accumulate 20 points in 15 Games or another 13 points from the next 7 PL games, then he’s done the bare minimum that was required of him when Berrada appointed him, to keep the team well away from a relegation battle, he’s got the team to stand still and continue in 11/12th place which is the position he inherited when RVN handed over the club to him, if he’s 15th to 17th he has to go simple, and whatever you or I think won’t matter because we have an owner than has form for sacking coaches.
