I'm expecting an unchanged side from, but would love to see

    --------------------DDG--------------------
    -----------Bailly-----------Blind------------
    Valencia------------------------------Shaw
    ----------------Carrick----------------------
    ----------------------Pogba-----------------
    ----------------------------------------------
    Lingard--------Mhkitariyan-------Rashford
    ------------------Ibra-----------------------

But there's no chance that Rooney'll be dropped for the derby, and doubt we'll see Fellaini dropped unless he's injured (to be fair, he's played well so far - he's just so limited)

    I want to see:

    DDG
    Valencia-Bailly-Blind-Shaw
    Big Timbo-Pogba
    Mkhitaryan-------------Martial
    Rashford-Zlatan
But it would not happen and perhaps rightfully so.

why is joe rothwell still in he lineup prediction? didnt he leave on a permanent?

Peak david silva fair enough current david silva, behave.

Pundits sometimes feel by expressing a non-obvious or expected view they will be well regarded but he just comes across as an idiot if he thinks those three are the best players in the league. Hazard on pomp is the best player in the league, alexis sanchez is also better than silva, and on form ozil beats them narrowly in my opinion too. Additionally de gea obviously.

I agree, Ozil, Sanchez, Hazard, Pogba, Zlaten, DDG, Shaw, easily could get into most teams, in a years time we could add Bailly, Blind, Mkh to that list, silva is no ronaldo currently or any of barcelona's forward line.

    De Gea
    Darmian - Bailly - Blind - Shaw
    Pogba - Fellaini
    Mata - Rooney - Martial
    Ibrahimovic

Romero, Valencia, Smalling, Carrick, Schneiderlin, Rashford, Lingard
(Providing that Mkhitaryan misses out through injury and that Valencia & Rojo come back the night before).

    -
    Bravo
    Sagna - Stones - Kolarov - Clichy
    Fernandinho
Sterling - De Bruyne - Silva - Nolito
    Kelechi

Caballero, Zabaleta, Kompany, Otamendi, Gundogan, Sane, Navas
(Providing that Otamendi comes back the night before and that Gundogan and Kompany are still not fit enough to feature).

“You hear about people saying English football’s the best football there is around,” Scholes comments. “I think Spain’s by far the best league. Germany has better teams. In Italy probably the strength in depth isn’t great. They talk about Italy being a bad league but I don’t think English people look at it.”

Scholes also believes the best players in the world - with the exception of three, who all play for Manchester City - all ply their trade in other leagues.

“There needs to be a real step up in quality in England. Other than Sergio Agüero, Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva, we don’t have the best players. All the best players are in other countries.

Love Scholes the player, hate Scholes the pundit, he's an absolute cnut. I'm sure if Ryan Giggs got the managerial job for us he would have a different tune.

Days out from the derby and he's pumping up city. Taking the absolute piss claiming those three are the only good players in the league.

So he forgot about Pogba I see.

Interesting spin. I'd be keen to see what Scholesy has actually said.
I think he has turned into a right prick, never misses a chance to slag United or the PL.
I have started to nit take any notice of what he is saying, yes a United legend but since he has left , seems he has some sort of axe to grind.

I think we'll win this one. I am basing my prediction purely on the fact that the feel good factor is back at OT and the crowd will be up for it. Home crowd is important for all teams but even more so for a Mourinho team.

feel good factors and PL form mean nothing in a Derby match.
I have always found these to be standalone games in the season.
I have seen some really bad ones and some really good ones, depends on if the players are up for it, they should be, so that means it will be dull as dishwater. :)

With all the hype over Pep and Mourinho etc, I think it's guaranteed to be a boring 0-0  Neither team will want to lose and concede ground at this early stage.

Nah, I think it'll be explosive. At least three goals in the game imo.

He has been pretty neutral I think. Has missed some calls. But overall he is the best ref we have.

Think this will be a pretty entertaining match.

You might not be scared of Aguero, but it would be pretty foolish not to respect him, if only for his footballing ability. I mean he's already got how many goals, 5? On his day he is a definite threat on goal. Let's be real. Blind/Bailly have been amazing this season so far, but have they been truly tested? The most dangerous team we've faced so far (besides Dortmund and the whole "lolz itz preseason" disaster) is probably Leicester. To me, though I do respect his speed and finishing, Vardy has to prove that he's more than a 1 year flash in the pan, whereas Aguero has already proven that when he is fit (though injury prone) he scores goals fairly regularly.

Vardy is a great player and we restricted him severely when we played.
We also beat a "park the bus" team who previously would've beaten us.
Whatever team/player/tactic we come up against, we are dealing with successfully.

I respect Aguero, but we have a great defence. And if we concede goals, unlike previous seasons, we now have attacking fire power to score at the other end, even in injury time ;)
Where previously if MCFC scored 1 or 2 goals, we'd accept a loss, this won't be the case now. We are quite capable of scoring 3 or 4 goals, ourselves and sending MCFC home feeling sorry for themselves.

At OT, I cant see anything other than a MUFC win.

Should be. I mentioned earlier that the performance in this game will decide for me if we'll challenge for the title or merely fight for the top 4. Really looking forward to it.

No manager (except LVG) spends £150M and goes for top 4. And that would include people like Moyes or Allardyce.
After spending so much money, Jose will be going for the title. No doubt about it. Anything less will be embarrassing for him.
In fact, most managers would be sacked if they got 4th place, after spending £150M in one summer. And the managers in question, would quite happily accept that decision (except LVG).

Agreed. I remember feeling so confident before the 6-1 because city didn't look as assured as we did. That too, against opposition which was less than stellar compared to us. Fast forward a couple of hours, and we know what happened next.

To be honest, I think this game is the 2nd biggest game of the season (behind the Champions League final) and probably joint with the El Classico.

Unfortunate we'll have no Mkhitaryan, and if Valencia is tired that might be a problem too, he's been great so far.

I'm confident that De Gea, Bailly, Blind, Shaw, Pogba, Rooney, and Ibrahimovic all play, along with two from Mata/Martial/Rashford. Fellaini seems to be the pick at the moment, but I'm going to imagine that's been more down to the opposition we've faxed thus far, so we might see Carrick or Schneiderlin this time.

Close game, 1-1 going into the last 20 minutes. Rashford or Iheanacho to bag the late winner, could go either way.

Would love to see this team.(considering the Valencia and Mkhitaryan situations)
Will be interesting who Mourinho favours at right back if Tony misses out.

This has got to be our team. Surely Rashford has to start after his hattrick.

The only question mark for me is at RB. If it's not Tony V, I have a feeling it'll be Darmian that starts, or maybe even Smalling.

This is a popular opinion I just don't get. The Chelsea spurs match was one of the worst refereeing displays ever seen.

    He is brutal

Be shocked if he starts Smalling at RB, wouldn't like it either.

Gotta admit, the prospect of Rashford with his sheer pace and conviction causing havoc is pretty incredible.

    I think this is false.

Firstly with two very even teams, often it comes down to luck who wins. We could win it; they could win it. Its like the Champions League final between two top teams. You need a bit of luck to win it. Of course the retrospective managers try to roll the dice in their favor so to speak to maximize the chances of winning. So Mourinho is thinking we do this and if City do that, we will respond by doing this. But Guardiola is thinking the same way. You really would need to use statistical analysis to discern who is the better team. One match proves nothing. A team could get lucky. If we were to play City ten times and we won eight times lets say or vice versa, then i would say that team is much better. Ergo if we win 1-0 or 2-1 or they win by such a margin, i wouldn't think much of it. We got the rub of the green or they did. Of course if we lost 5-0, then I would be worried.

Secondly, its only one match in the premiership of which there are another 30 odd games left. Its by no means the decider whether we make top four, let alone win the competition outright. If it were the Champions League final, yes, the winner of the match wins the competition outright, but not this match on Saturday. Hopefully we win on Saturday, but its by no means the be-all, end-all. Whoever wins could drop points the next match.

How do you feel we'll start the game? We know city will try to blast away from word go. Should we hold the gate for first 20 mins or sprint?

First fifteen minutes of each half (provided its close after half time) are when Guardiola teams try to strike. Will be interesting to see our formation. I would guess a 4-3-3 and try to hit them on the counter or from a set-piece.

I think so too. We'll be set up to counter definitely. Just hope we don't fall too much back.

Why are people doing line-ups without Valencia? Is he injured as well?

I still don't think Rashford will start. I want him to but I just do not see it happening.

Funny enough I see are biggest threat in this game being Sterling as he has been good so far for City, I think if we close him down we stand a big chance of keeping a clean sheet.
