We can’t surely hood Cas and leave only Collyer and Mainoo in there.
Surely you pull off probably Zirk, put Bruno up top and solidify the midfield. The “pressing” 4 are getting bypassed too easily then Mainoo and Cas are no where near them and then it’s just put in behind them and we are getting stuffed. Time and time again.

Doesn’t help that again people picking the wrong passes time and time again and the worst culprit for it is Bruno.

The mistakes he made for the 2 goals were not even the worst pieces of play in that half. The one where he just put the ball out on the right touchline and didn't know what to do was just tragically comedic from a Utd midfielder and I had to ask myself wtf it is I just saw.

Is delit an upgrade on maguire? He doesn’t look it.

At this level you can’t make mistakes like we are making. Let’s hop Ugarte makes some impact. Casamiro has lost it.

Zirkzee gives me vibes of somebody you bring on late in the game when you need a workhorse. Him and Case off at half time please
    What?
Nothing he has shown so far screams workhorse. I'm unsre what he actually does offer at all

Perhaps but I can't remember a time when Utd have had less of a goal threat than now in 25 years of watching them. Having promising strikers alone will never be enough. Like CB, you need tried and tested.
It is very difficult to see how we threaten better defences with the current cast.
And won't change massively with Hojlund back.

De Ligt had a good half. 100% prefer him. Maguire is always waiting for the next mistake, De Ligt looked solid.

It’s a terrible game plan that relies on not creating enough and giving the possession, it only works if you never make stupid individual mistakes. Eth sets himself up for a failure because he’s not good enough for this level, you can call it unlucky if you want
I don’t think so. Playing out from the back is literally a staple of every top team. You’re in for a shock if we replace him with another possession manager who then yet again struggles to get us playing consistently. You can’t carry players who give the ball away like that.

Unless I've been watching a different game than others, how is this on the manager?

We played better than I have seen us over recent times. And we're holding our own, even outplaying at times. Then Casemiro happened
We were fine. Had a few spells of possession, so did they. Neither team really threatened, we kept fecking up the final pass and Liverpool were holding on to it too long so we managed to harry them quite well.

Then we gift them the ball and they score. Then do it again and they score. Obviously that's caused the momentum and confidence to completely shift one way.

Liverpool always seem to get a bit of luck against us at OT, and when they do they're ruthless with it.

Contrast Liverpool’s trademark, aggressive, tight pressing and constant chipping away to get the ball off our players; with our limp, lacklustre, failure to press effectively, or put any pressure on their players.
No physicality and no threat to Liverpool in possession, other than us intercepting loose passes or making blocks.

Our front 4 are jogging training cones, allowing the scousers to play out from the back with total ease and they’re up the park attacking our penalty area in an instant, within just a few passes.

Brighton did it last week, just bypass midfield as quickly as possible, when Utd have no midfield presence to oppose you.

Yes, our standards have absolutely dropped, if you expect us to be world class you're setting yourself up for disappointment. I didn't say good anyway, just not too bad.
We looked decent for 10 mins and gassed after 25.

This is what happens when you don't do your transfer business in a timely manner.

Ugarte should've been signed quickly enough that he had time with the squad and was able to start today. If he's on the pitch today maybe this doesn't play out like it has.

Absolutely. Dm was priority number 1.

To be fair, Liverpool have been impressive today. Solid pressing, superb final balls and clinical finishing. There’s not much more you can expect from them unless you’re existing prime Real or Barcelona, which would not be realistic.
Nah, they just had two chances and scored from both of them and haven't played anything special at all.

Have you watched the past 2 years of us play football? This game isn’t a one-off. This is a continuation of tactics and style of football a manager has failed to implement three years running. The fault cannot be anyone’s but the manager.

Everything is too easy to read for the opposition, no movement, midfielders that can be targeted, and no clear patterns of play upfront.. woeful stuff really. We look like a worse team than anyone we play
Good way of putting it. We are so obvious and uninspiring in how we attempt to build play. It's just abject nothingness most of the time.

Ugarte will not change much. Our main problem is complete lack of attacking play and he will not change that. We will be just slightly better in defensive phase.
He’ll help us defensively. But ye I agree. We’re still poor attacking wise and we also needed to sign a CM that can actually pass a ball. No good just having all ball winners. Not one player today have been good at passing.

I predicted 0-3 and see no reason to think it will be less... but yeh, extend ETH's contract why not...

That’s clearly what Ten Hag wants so as bad as Casemiro is, he’s being asked to do something he has never done.
If that's true, why's he asking Casemiro of all people to do it? Surely should just be left to Bruno

You can’t blame the second goal on Cas. He lost possession on the half way line not ten yards from goal! Blame this crap managers shit setup!

Amad isnt good enough to start these games, he was terrible against Brighton.

Rashford shouldnt be starting either but we have no options on the left unless we put Antony their as we didnt sign a replacement for Sancho.
He scored and almost had an assist. And tracks back. What has Tashford done?

Oh, yeah do tell me it wasn’t a massive fan pressure after cup win which led INEOS to persist with this pretender
It was a process. Either you have faith in the new recruitment team or you don’t, but don’t pretend the fans have much influence at all.

    What?
Nothing he has shown so far screams workhorse. I'm unsre what he actually does offer at all
He barely moves. Not interested in running behind and comes too deep so we don't have an outlet. Needs to show more as appreciate it's his first start

It’s one of the biggest issues today though. Swap him for Ugarte and we don’t concede them 2 goals. He passes it without looking all the time. He must have a very low successful passing percentage

There was no one to pass the ball to without looking. Ugarte would change absolutely nothing to what happened in this half unless he doesn't actually receive the balls that Casemiro received or the other players actually offer easy passing options.

Casemiro isn't good but it's not the issue and no one has been close to good.

Lest anyone think we're playing some super midfield, Gravenberch is about as average as it gets; he certainly was for Bayern but here we are making him look like fecking Toure.

We need to change tempo in games. Not once did we put our foot on the ball and try and regroup. If we by some miracle become more clinical with our passing, we can get a goal.
