Hoping for a huge second half. To come back and even get a draw would be a huge boost, but it’s so hard to see where the turnaround could come from.

Despite the money spent the bench looks shocking. It’s embarrassing to even think it at home, but getting back into this seems so far fetched, perhaps damage limitation is the way to go.

We’ve quickly dissolved into the fragile team we’ve seen so often. Honestly, how many of us are now just praying we don’t ship four or five?

Ultimately, Casemiro’s errors have costed us, but we’ve been careless on the ball from defence to attack. There was a sequence in the game where Zirkzee and Garnacho repeated gave the ball away when we could have springboarded into a counter attack.

Our bad play with the ball still remains an issue and is majorly responsible for what we are seeing here. This isn’t vintage Liverpool so should blame ourselves more if the result stays the same.

Mostly disappointed with Zirkzee, who seems completely out of it. Garnacho had two good opportunites to pass directly to Rasford, but never looked up.

Well beaten that half. Big problems playing out from the back down the spine of our team centrally. Lisandro has given it away a few times, Casemiro the same evidenced by the first goal. The 2nd goal I didnt see the touch of the ball by Diaz on the replay so looked a foul to me.

Mainoo our only positive performance, but Grabvenberch has been the pick of the midfielders still sharper and brighter than our midfield

Liverpool in general look much better organized and sharper.

Entire attack is toothless. Our play in final third awful. It's going to be another long season packed with bullshit excuses.

Think we’ve still got a few goals in us.

It’s painful to watch a legend like Casemiro put in a performance like that.

False 9, false 10, still very poor in midfield.

Case, Martinez and Zirkzee have been poor.

    Garnacho invisible.

Rashford made some runs and did feck all. The only thing he can do nowadays.

Collyer for Case and Amad for Garnacho or Rashford at HT.

Same old story against Liverpool, we look decent in spells until we get into their final third then suddenly turn into a Sunday league team, and as usual individual mistakes inevitably cost us. Whereas they don’t look anything special but look like scoring every time they attack.

You used all the tissues wanking yourself silly at the thought of the team being booed off after their second goal.
You still talking? Maybe you should go support a league 2 team where these performances are acceptable. The fans have a right to show them it isn’t acceptable week in week out.

We can only pass around GK and defenders. That's all. No midfield and attack at all. What they do in training? ETH is useless.

People complain about Maguire. He is our best defender. Martinez have been much worse. Shocking.

We have no plan of attack, it is the same as last season. Our abysmal defense simply took spotlight away from our clueless attack.

At this point I don't care if ETH stays or goes as I trust the new setup to make an informed decision but that's the worst midfield performances I've ever seen from anyone. I can't even find words to describe how terrible Casemiro was.

Poor Mainoo ended up getting a yellow card because he had to do all the work.

Call me whatever name you want and I wouldn't blame you at all but no one can convince me that Zirkzee doesn't equal another waste of money
He’d be a fine 4th choice forward in a working team, he’ll not take us to the next level on his own.

For the positives, De Ligt looked good. Certainly didn't look slow. Mazraoui looks like he could potentially be a really good signing as well (Hopefully he stays fit)

Casemiro has been a nightmare. Lisandro has had a few moments where he did some really dangerous stuff. Rashford, Garnacho and Zirkzee have been crap. Bruno and Mainoo are at least trying.

Casemiro the obvious villain. But for me the structural problem is a complete lack of quality in attacking areas. It means that when we have a spell where we get the ball up against Liverpools defence, it just peters out and comes straight back at us again. Even without the mistakes I'm not confident we'd be doing much better.

Zirkzee - is like a Deer in the headlights 2/10
Rashford - Bright for a few minutes and then anonymous 3/10
Bruno - A couple of decent passes otherwise anonymous 4/10
    Garnacho - Did nothing 1/10
Casemiro - The reason for both goals, now can't pass a parcel, his head has gone 0/10
Mainoo - he is doing OK 5/10
Dalot - he is doing OK 5/10
De Ligt - the only real positive 7/10
Mazaraoi - he is doing OK 5/10
Onana - couldn't do a thing about either goal. No complaints 7/10

Most of our team have not turned up. Inexcusable for Liverpool at home. It's all very sloppy and wasteful. They look like they will score every time they're near our box.

You still talking? Maybe you should go support a league 2 team where these performances are acceptable. The fans have a right to show them it isn’t acceptable week in week out.
They have a right to do what they want, you armchair general.

Buy a ticket and tell them all they're supporting their team wrong and show them how it's done.

    ETH needs to go.

Zirkzee isnt up to this level. 30 mins watching him and you can see that.

De Ligt and Mazraoui arent players to take us to the next level.

    We have wasted another summer.

De Ligt was fantastic. Mazraoui is very good. The next level isn't competing for the title though, it's becoming a stable top 4 team again which plays decent football.

Feels like every match there’s one or two players that will go out of their way to have a stinker and give away goals….horrendous stuff, you can’t really blame the manager for Casemiro completely losing his head like that.. it’s unforgivable and he needs dropping and then selling at the earliest possible opportunity
Partly true. But you could blame the manager for us looking absolutely lost, with basically zero ability to create anything dangerous after over 18 months in charge, roughly half a billion being spent and three pre-seasons to implement a style of play? This is the average level of performance we've been putting out for over 18 months. Sometimes, the errors aren't made and the goals aren't conceded but to be this toothless going forward for so long is absolutely on the manager.

See I do agree, however, Collyer is never gonna try and spam first time balls like Casemiro has been doing. He'll be scared for his life and try and keep it simple which is what we've needed.
That’s clearly what Ten Hag wants so as bad as Casemiro is, he’s being asked to do something he has never done.

2 mistakes not on ETH, but aside from that, do you think it's acceptable to be going into a game against Liverpool at Old Trafford and expecting to get a hiding? In Year 3 of a manager's reign?
Especially against a manager who’s in game 3 of their premier league career.

Chase Ugarte all summer and sign him in time to not be able to register him for the biggest game of the season (when he'd 100% be needed).
Still painfully toothless up front as well. So many good positions wasted
Ugarte will not change much. Our main problem is complete lack of attacking play and he will not change that. We will be just slightly better in defensive phase.

Very frustrating to find ourselves 2-0 behind from cheaply losing possession. What more than United have Liverpool done in that half outside those goals?

Another game of usual crap, zero control in midfield, forwards firing blanks. As long as this first goal was disallowed, we can see that it will not take long before Liverpool scores. How bad do we have to lose before Erik gets sack? If we hire another manager, we will be selling and buying players again. It doesn't stop, United is cursed. Scholes say it correct, we don't have any control. Bruno and Casemiro are senior players yet they play like young players.

Casemiro having one of those games like Neville where he needs to retire
