I read up this morning that RVN as been staying behind in training to do 1 to 1 sessions with him. Time will tell whether it pays of or not

We had the same 'staying late in training, asking Ronaldo how he can get better' stories before.

It's one of the three stock Rashford PR stories that have been cycled for years, with the person he's trying to learn how to get better from changing depending on who's here

    Essentially: footballer trains. Gosh

Sick of Rashy playing every week no matter what.

Amad may not have trained well this week, his mother passed away and so he may have been playing on automatic last match. Give ETH a break on that one

Not sure half of those posting in this thread are united fans. Have a bit of faith in your team ffs

    Hard agree

The few hours of blind optimism before a big game is a part of what makes being a fan so fun

Too many influenced by the Goldbridge negativity effect

Looking forward to match. Hard one to predict. Come on United.

Don't think this was ever Amad or Rashford for ETH.

Mount injury propped up Zirkzee, then probably just a choice of Garnacho over Amad.

We have to start getting better service to Zirkzee. We can't afford another Holjund situation where everyone who should have been focused on supplying him was playing as if he'd never been signed

    Yeah, that's a good point.

I thought he'd actually clarified that it wasn't his actual mother? But still someone close to him, and it did seem to affect his performance last week, so might well be deemed best to only use him as an impact sub.

It's impossible not to be worried about that midfield battle, but on the other hand Liverpool's defense isn't all that. If Rashford shows up tonight, I like his chances to do something against Alexander-Arnold.

Even if Amad himself had passed away I'd still stick him on the wing ahead of Rashford.

    It was his step mum

What do you guys want? We sold and released almost 20 player's. Something everyone was crying for!
has nothing to do with that...i'm all for the guys they've moved on, hell i wanted them to get rid of antony as well

just making a simple observation given our injury list and how that's impacted our bench along with having to balance the books before we can really make an impact in the transfer market

We didn't really release any good players without replacing them, so that's not the reason.

Yoro, Shaw, Malacia, Ugarte, Mount, Hojlund all being injured is why the bench is so weak.

I think it's more the injuries / not available (Ugarte) that's more the worry. Had we got the likes of Yoro, Shaw, Malacia, Ugarte, Mount, Hojlund... on it, nobody would be saying it looks terrible because there's no Kambwala, Pellistri, Hannibal or McTominay there.

It's the fact that there's no FB's or senior strikers at all, and the only midfield options are at the beginning / end of their careers and neither are ones you'd want to rely on v Liverpool.

None of that would apply if the likes of the above named were in the matchday squad.

Five of which would probably be starters. It is kind of impressive that we look as good as we do.

Would love a convincing win against these. But I don’t care how we win. Let’s get the 3pts and make it an happy place for a couple of week whilst it’s international duty.

What has Amad done that is so great that he should start?
Got us the goal against Brighton. Also won our player of the month. If that isn’t enough then dunno what is. The question should be what has Rashford done for the past year that he gets to start every week?

What do you want him to do though?

If he wasn't doing anything about it you'd be onto him over that too...

My advice to you, take some time away from these threads - Rashford ones specifically

Benches goal-scorer Amad so he can start fecking Rashford

Feck you, too, Erik, you stubborn, dumb, a-hole!

When was the last time Marcus Rashford had a genuinely good game? Not even baiting, I cannot remember.

It has been a while... i dont think Amad has been good in his two premier league games either though.

Amad has been average, scored a goal but also did quite a few things really badly. Against Brighton he messed up a fairly easy but very important pass (to Rashford) and one offside moment from Amad was really bad too.

Rashford hasnt been great, he has been offside a bit too often but otherwise was just very average.

I'd be feeling cautiously optimistic if Ugarte was available. Without him I think we're getting overrun in the midfield and comfortably beat.
