I can't disagree.Hope we smash them 0-0
I can't disagree.Hope we smash them 0-0
I can see this. I imagine you'll play a deep line and we'll just try to retain possession. Can see a snooze-fest on the cards.Hope we smash them 0-0
I imagine you'll play a deep line
Mainoo's ability to play 90 minutes is famously untested.I'm sure the 3 of them will play the full 90 but if there are any midfield injuries vs Liverpool then I guess we'll have to throw Collyer into the deep end. Or maybe Martinez as an emergency DM.
Bruno would have to be very very disciplined for that midfield to work against the ScouseOnanasubs: Bayindir, Maguire, Evans, Armass, Collyer, Kone, Eriksen, Antony, Rashford (struggling to fill the bench with all these injuries and Ugarte not being registered on time for this game)
Mazraoui - De Ligt - Martinez - Dalot
Casemiro - Mainoo
Amad - B.Fernandes - Garnacho
Zirkzee
score prediction: Manchester United 2-1 Liverpool
Tactics could be the same as against Brighton, or we could see a mid press instead of a high press.
Our current strategy suits playing against Pool. We need to take our chances though.
I just think a high line plays massively to our advantage on the break, something we've looked to utilise in the last couple of games...I'd have thought ETH would have been cute and looked to sit and overload the left on the break. I'm probably overthinking this though. That would be strange as we have been playing more on the front font with a higher line. Although Mounts absence really affects our pressing.
We are about an inch from Zirkzee’s knee away from having 6 points out of 6. Our performances have improved greatly too.Feel like the media's knives are being sharpened for ETH if we lose this. It will have been a very poor start to the season if we lose this in fairness.
YepThis is the biggest issue currently.
We know how media are toward us. We should just ignore whatever they write.Feel like the media's knives are being sharpened for ETH if we lose this. It will have been a very poor start to the season if we lose this in fairness.
Aye, this team needs it's Cantona.Yep
Our finishing has been absolutely abysmal.
One of the compounding elements to it is that when we are on the wrong end of quantum physics VAR decisions and the softest penalties that are supposedly “technically probably penalties cause in todays game lots of things are sort of technically penalties” , we get hit harder.
You’d like to believe that if we can have a proper game where we take our chances , where the team just clicks , that we could go on a proper run and things would just take off from there.
Same. Liverpool have started well winning their first 2 games while we already lost one out of first 2 (again).I’ll take a draw and a good performance.
We are still in transition. Patience is still needed.

Yep
People forget how important he was or don’t actually realise it.
When I see people say “manager over relies on x player” in a derogatory insinuation against the manager I think it’s kind of a silly point.
When Eric Joined , United was languishing mid table halfway through a season and helps us win that league. The next league title we didn’t win was when he was banned. Then we won the league when he returned and he basically won a lot of our games later on in season with his goals.
Cantonas genius and impact at United is , in my view, underrated. It wasn’t just his goals, it was his presence , personality and application that helped build the foundation for United’s dominance. That includes his influence on the youngsters and class of 92.
If we had him today , we’d win in my view.
It hasn't even started to become a problem yet. Let's wait and see.Mainoo's ability to play 90 minutes is famously untested.
Really we have a first/second choice midfield of Ugate/Casemiro, Bruno/Erikson and Mainoo/Mount which you can mix up a bit depending who you are playing. But two of those are unavailable today (Ugarte and Mount) and two more are past their sell by date (Erikson and Casemiro). So it's a problem.
God I miss the 90s…Yeah, to avoid the risk of taking the tread off topic, I'll just say I agree.
So only me not looking forward to the game today then. Although I am hoping 2-1 win at the same time a nervous wreck Again 3rd game of the season it feels like a must-win game
Do we know when Ugarte was actually registered and therefore available? I know the announcement was late in the day but doesn’t necessarily mean his registration was after cut-off.
All time and forever favourite of mine for exactly the impact he had as described.Yep

No GK could hurt us.I am thinking it will be
Mazraoui Maguire Martinez Dalot
Casemiro Mainoo
Amad Bruno Garnacho
Rashford.
Zirkzee and De Ligt in second half.
Low block and long balls behind the defensive line for Rashford and Garnacho to run into.
Most likely Liverpool win due to School boys errors.

Do we know this for a fact? I would feel a lot better if we had him on the bench if we can...Onanasubs: Bayindir, Maguire, Evans, Armass, Collyer, Kone, Eriksen, Antony, Rashford (struggling to fill the bench with all these injuries and Ugarte not being registered on time for this game)
