Carrick and Bastian makes sense. Like someone else pointed out, Carrick and Schneider-Man are too similar. Bastian takes more risks with forward passes. In terms of controlling the game, it's the right choice, since Liverpool will play with a lot of pace it's important we retain the ball as best as possible. For this, Carrick and Basti are the best two.
