We can’t be affraid of them! With all the respect I have for them, they’re composed of former ‘failure’ like Simpson or De Laet, so we need to put a good performance.

Once again, LVG will be afraid of them with set pieces and play Fellaini and Rooney in the middle, so less technic and less speed, no Herrera nor Januzaj, only Di Maria who will ‘try’ to find space alone when all his partners will walk on the pitch.

    How we should play

    -----------------------------------------De Gea----------------------------------------
    Rafael---------------------Jones-----------------Rojo-----------------------Shaw
    -------------------------------------Carrick/Blind-----------------------------------
    ------------------------Herrera----------------------Di Maria----------------------
    Valencia------------------------------Rooney-------------------------------Januzaj

    How PHILOSOPHY will play

    -----------------------------------------De Gea----------------------------------------
    ---------------------Jones-------------Carrick---------------Rojo-------------------
    Valencia ------------------------------Blind-----------------------------------Shaw
    ------------------------Rooney----------------------Fellaini------------------------
    -----------------------------Di Maria----------RVP/Falcao--------------------------

    ---------------------------------------Schwarzer----------------------------------
    Simpson-----------------Morgan---------------Moore-------------------De Laet
    Vardy --------------------King------------------Drinkwater--------------Schlupp
    ----------------------------------------Kramaric-----------------------------------
    -------------------------------------------Ulloa------------------------------------

True but he has been poor in the PL when played.

I've got tickets for this one but snow may stop me travelling. Potential heartbreak.
So what I feel we need abit of spark and raw talent. Rather than Fellaini and Carrick's zombie passing.

I gotta ask, no hate intended, but what exactly has Januzaj done in the last 10 games he's played in that has justified him being in everyone's dream team? He lingers too much on the ball, kills pace (although this part can probably be said about all of our players), his passing isn't all that good, his crossing even less so and he's been bang average ever since that Sunderland league cup tie we lost on pens.

Yes, he hasn't been on the level he was last season but I think he and Herrera are the ones who could play quick one-twos and break the boring dead end type of play we are stuck in right now. Januzaj has that something in himbut it's up to LVG and the coaches to help him get his flare back.

    Start Rooney up front.
Di Maria in the position he ripped it up in early season
    4 at the back.

Just those simple three steps would give us a huge lift

It's wrong for me to laugh at this as I'm a believer in LVG but my god that made me chuckle.

Can't wait for some proper bloody football. Sod this cup nonsense. We need points damnit!

You have to remember what Leicester did the last time we faced them. Since LvG picks teams based on opposition, and his twitchy backside, this is the best we can hope for.

Its more to do with RvP, Falcao and Wilson being bad than people thinking Januzaj has been good. Plus that he can play on the wing.

Carrack injured and LVG saying he wants us to play a quicker tempo - could we see a CM partnership of Blind and Herrera tomorrow? Can't see Fellaini falling into the quick tempo philosophy, but I guess he will....at the expense of Herrera no doubt.
We are going to smash Leicester tomorrow.

    Revised line-up without Carrick

    De Gea
    Rafael Smalling Rojo Shaw
    Herrera Blind
    Di Maria Mata Januzaj
    Rooney

    De Gea
    Rafael Smalling Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Fellaini Herrera
    Di Maria Rooney Januzaj

We might have a chance of seeing this I think.

I think we're going to batter them. Di Maria to have a stormer and us to get our first pen of the season with a dive and a Vardy red card.

    ---Rafael---Smalling--Rojo---Shaw
    ---------------Blind-----------
    ------Fellani----------Herrara----
    ------------Di Maria------------
    ------RVP-----------Rooney----

Januzaij would be first on only because he played so well last week, but this is a game that LVG would not want to lose so he will go for the safe option of Fellani

After Carrick's injury I will be surprised if this wasn't the team

    ----------------------De Gea-------------------------

    Rafael/Val -----Jones------Rojo ----------Shaw

    ---------------------Blind--------------------------

    ---------Fellaini --------------Rooney-------------

    ---------------------Di Maria ---------------------

    --------------RVP ------------Falcao----------------

Edit - Shape/positions may not be correct but I reckon that will be the XI

Feels like an age since we last played our game for some reason. Can't wait for tomorrow

    -----------DeGea------------
    Rafael-Smalling-Rojo-Shaw
    ---Fellaini-Blind-DiMaria----
    ------------Mata-------------
    -----Wilson-----Rooney-----

Can't remember the last time a (competitive) United game didn't air live here in Sweden..

On top of that, the game they're going to show instead is Liverpool vs West Ham.

Feels really strange, and I don't like it.

We should see something like this. But it would probably be Di Maria striker and Rooney midfield, LVG style.

Play Rooney up top, mata/Herrera number 10 and di Maria in the middle please.

Samma här. I think it's the Carroll vs Pool thingy. Fittan fy fan

With Carrick out, surely, we're going to start with 3 at the back? Blind and Fellaini in midfield; Rooney, Mata/RvP/Falcao and Di Maria up front.

Be a worry if LVG was going to go back to the 4 at the back but an injury to one midfielder changes that.

Are we 100% sure the 3-5-2 has been abandoned as I keep reading here and there?

If so I would take that over a new signing all day long.

With Carrick being out injured, I'm guessing we'll see something like:

    De Gea
    Rafael Jones Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera Di Maria
    Mata
    Rooney Van Persie
Sort of like our lineups from the start of the season, which did produce good football but was too open defensively. I'd rather turn that into a 4-2-3-1 anyways, but I doubt Van Gaal would do that. Anyways, hopefully we see these players, or even better would be Januzaj in for RvP and putting him on the wing and playing with wide players actually.
