Disappointed to see Andreas again. He needs dropping. At least it looks like the creative spot has been given to Mata instead with him playing as a 6. Guess with Garner playing in the week there's no other option to partner Fred.

No other option that Perreira in midfield but, come January, either Ole decides one of the kids is good enough to get games in midfield or he needs at least 1 more backup in there.

Oh c'mon, Garner deserves his chance over Pereira.

Garner is not ready to play 90m minutes. He has shown no indication that he is.

I think he' a phenomenal talent, but Garner is nowhere near eligible to start a league game in a important role.

Because the club employs analysts, scout and football people who are qualified to make those assessments? Who else do you trust to do it?

So this guarantees we'll never, ever make a mistake in market again ?

I don't know, maybe try to have your own opinion instead of blindly trusting club employees will always take the right decision.

Disappointing to see Mata starting. I’m less critical of Andreas than others especially given we’ve limited other options, Mata though, I really struggle to see what is the point.

I think Mata scores today. To a lot of peoples massive disapproval.

Did you say the same about McTominay when he first came in?

In what way do you see Garner as not ready? And more particularly, that Pereira is better?

That this is not on sky or BT is just absolute bollicks. Every game should be on tv. I am forking out a hunred euro a month specifically for the football and cannot watch matches.

The sooner amazon sweep in with every game on tv the better. Fed fecking up. Nothing on tv all weekend.

We’re desperate for midfield reinforcements aren’t we.

I really hope Jones isn't injured and he's just been dropped because Ole has accepted that Jones is fecking shit.

Since there is no such thing as truly accurately predict a players development, of course we are going to make mistakes. A lot of them. Like every other club out there.

Are you telling ME to have an opinion? I mean, I'd love to be the guy that buys players, that'd be a lot of fun. But yes here's my opinion: I don't think Bruno Fernandes is good enough to build a champion team around. He' got a good free kick, other than that we already got an assist machine who' returning to duty very soon.

Sometimes I think it's overprotection. It's one thing to say that Garner isn't ready, but then, if he's not ready he ought not be on the bench to begin with. There's no point making up numbers for numbers' sake. At some point (other than vs. Astana), especially during a period of diminishing midfield depth, Garner has to feature either in the start, or at the very least, from the bench, and not just in safe Europa ties with nothing at stake. It's not throwing him to the proverbial wolves to give him the chance in a game with some importance. That's how players develop character.

Would rather see mata start than have both lingard and pereira on the pitch at the same time. Good job Ole.

As long as we win, it doesn’t matter who scores. Mata is done for though, hasn’t been up to it for a few years and should have been shipped out.

I think it’s a poor decision to start him, bit of a cowardly decision from Ole imo.

Don’t get what’s going on with my predictions 2nd week running it’s saying I’ve selected Jones instead of Maguire

Jones is not injured (that I know of). He, along with Matic are on their way out, with some haste. Actually jones might not be, however crap he might be, we need bench options in a pinch. There's a reason why Jones hasn't played in the league this season, and we saw that the one half he got. Subbed right off at half time. Brutal by OGS, but very needed.

    Three 11/11 in a row.

We will be vunerable to set-pieces and crosses into our box. Fred, Periera, Lindelöf and Mata are not reknown for their aerial ability.

Who do you start instead? Garner?

Who said we were going to build an entire team around Bruno ? No offense but really every new post of you comes with a more weird argument than the previous one. Bruno is a very good player who would have been a pretty good option to have instead of Periera or Fred. Still only 25, so pretty much at the beginning of his prime years. It would have been a pretty good signing and a better sight in our midfield than the shite show we have currently. What's that with "building a team around" stuff ? There's no club in the world now who builds an entire team around single player unless this player is Messi. And having only one creative midfielder entering a season is just asking for trouble to happen once injuries occur because what, injuries to key players in something that happened, happens and will keep happening to every club.

OGS will say "I'm happy with the squad" in January.
I honestly don’t reckon he’ll last until January, I think we’ll struggle today, lose the next two big ones and he’ll be gone.

Still can't believe we didn't sign a midfielder.

It's not as if it wasn't painfully obvious we needed one. I will never understand the logic. At least with attacking positions you can see SOME understanding why we didn't buy a striker. Midfield there is none, it was obvious we were going to get into a terrible situation during the season the second Pogba got hurt.

The last time Garner had playtime he made several minor mistakes and looked uncertain. Garner can start in the cup when other midfielders can carry him when he makes mistakes, he's not ready to play bigboy minutes, yet.

And that is NOT a knock on Garner. He's a 18 talent.

I've seen good play from him as well of course, he' not been bad, but he's not someone you lean on to break the game.

Williams got his shot and took it, hard. If Garner can do the same, he'll earn a starting spot, but he hasn't yet.

Pereira has much more experience and is a bit faster and stronger than Garner. Ole rates his pressing game. McTominay was once selected based on his physique, not on his passing ability.
