United to win comfortably. 4 shots on target, 4 goals. Sancho, Bruno, Rashford x2.
Bruno picks out Sancho on the break, races into the box, pass to Rashford...goal. rinse and repeat.

just realised we're playing football this week... this is going to be bad.

Wow it’s amazing how far we have fallen if you look at the odds. It’s like Man City are playing Stoke city. Man Utd 13/2 to win, what a joke of a football team we have become. They are already almost 30 pts clear of us with loads of games left to play.

The Glazers should hang their head in shame but I know they couldn’t give a damn.

What I'm on about is exactly what I said.

Every year we get predictions here about getting smashed away to City. Never happens.

    Agree with you.

We're actually pretty adept at this particular game.

I just hope we stick to what's worked the past few years.

That wouldn't be a rational prediction at all actually.
My supporting evidence is Utd's patchy form and inability to score, also City playing lovely football, being top of the league and scoring loads.

Can you please explain your comment?

Every time it was predicted they would thump us it never happened despite the fact our form was patchy or just bad and them being brilliant. I hope my answer satisfied you.

I expected that answer and I agree with you, form isn't a big factor in these games, but the difference between the two teams is overwhelming right now. I hope Utd can pull off a big performance.

Unfortunately with that I agree completely. Cheers.

That is true. They could not care less. The protests should have contniued.

I hate to say this but I will not accept anything but a win on sunday. City have been one of the best teams on the planet for a while now and the depth in their squad scares the crap out of me. Also, our football has been one of the crapiest on the planet in the past few years. Some might say that we play decent football but I think people have forgotten what good football is. I watch football of all kind and I'm from India, I have watched all the levels of football since 1995 and I know for sure how much of an improvement we need. Beating City will not prove anything to me or any of the United fan because we have been craving for good football for a long time now. I feel so bad watching teams like Brighton, Wolves, play such attractive positive football. We need to play like Real Madrid who have now adopted the strategy that Man United used under SAF. We would sit back if necessary but our defense was so compact and our attacking players were so lethal or we would just go and attack whenever we wanted. THE MAIN ATTRACTION WAS WE NEVER WASTED POSSESSION. FORWARD EVERY TIME. Now Though! I hope Erik Ten Hag is appointed and he brings in some quality to that midfield and changes the dynamism of this team. Ralf is trying so hard and I love that.

Think we'll be hard to beat, just need to be more clinical in front of goal. Who knows for Sunday really, sad thing is we need City to keep a lead in points.

Id take losing by just 1 right now to be honest. Can't handle both Liverpool's and City's spanking in the same season.

Before the Atletico match I thought that regardless of the result we’d see an improvement in performance against City Vs the last time. Now I’m not sure… but I maintain it’s only a matter of time until this team gets a result that matches the performances Vs mid and lower teams. However no idea how we will perform against City. Which is actually exciting and gives me optimism, deluded as it may sound, that we might surprise a few people.

Think we will see something like this

    De gea
    A.W.B Varane Maguire Shaw
    Mctom Fred
    Elanga Bruno Sancho
    Ronaldo

Would rather bruno plays as false 9 and pogba plays in midfield instead with Ronaldo on the bench.

No idea what is going to happen, the derbies have been difficult to predict last couple of seasons but one thing i will say if we score first we have a good chance of winning, if we concede first than we will lose, no doubt.

Feeling strangely confident about this one. City have been out of form for a while now and we always tend to do well at the Etihad.

0-2 United - Bruno penalty and a Sancho hattrick.

We got smashed in the last fixture. The 2-0 scoreline flattered us the most Ive seen. It was a more embarrassing display than Liverpool prior. I remember everyone talking about it and think there were quotes from Pep after about how he never even trained the side for the game.
Most embarrassing was the goals conceded. First OG the second probably the worst ever goal conceded in the PL.

City will likely embarrass United again especially in possession stakes but it is too much to ask for United not to gift City goals this time?

Love the optimism, worry about the delusion.

Just had a quick look on bluemoon before and a lot of them are shitting it a bit.

It's a reverse of 10-15 years ago when we saw this fixture as a serious banana skin, even though we were always clearly the better team.

I think the best we can realistically hope for is a spirited defensive performance, holding out for a 0-0 ...and I would be happy with that.

I think Ralf will have the team similar to Ole's counter attacking set-up:

    De Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Varane Maguire Shaw
    McTominay Fred
    Elanga Fernandes Sancho
    Ronaldo
    Maybe even Lingard for Elanga.

Yeah from what I recall they always were tight dour affairs that could go either way. I don't remember us beating them soundly from 06-09 for example.

1-1 is what I think will end up happening, but wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if we win it 2-1. We have been playing well, just not finishing our chances. Thats going to end sooner or later, hopefully its this game.

We will have about 30 percent possession and hope they miss a hat full of chances whilst we nick one on the break.

It's a complete hit and hope this one.

    ---------------------De Gea
    Bissaka - Varane - Lindelof - Shaw
    Dalot - McTominay - Fred - Pogba
    -‐--------------------Bruno
    --------------------Rashford

Backs to the wall and then explode on the counter. This is the one game Rashford could still be useful.

That right hand side is utterly depressing. Also, no Sancho, no party.

We need our fastest players up front, so Sancho and Rashford (even in terrible form )should play imo. Ronaldo will be useless staying at the half line waiting for balls at his feet, but unfortunately I can't see him being dropped.

I would go for something like this:
    ---------------------De Gea
    Bissaka - Varane - Lindelof - Shaw
    ---------McTominay - Fred - Pogba
    -‐-------------------- Bruno
    -------------Sancho - Rashford

We should play it simple, fast passes upfront and STOP with passing the ball between our defenders as they will kill us with their pressing.

Yes it’s a difficult one, we obviously need to beat them for ourselves and help us push for top 4 but then we don’t want to do the scousers any favour. If we beat city we must 100% beat Liverpool.

Out of form but still picking up the wins. There only loss in such a long time was the one against spurs. They’ll be up for this one and although they haven’t been scoring as many as there capable of they could turn up and put 4/5 past us if there at there best.

In an ideal world I would use Elanga and Cavani as impact subs, but Rashford has been terrible and Ronaldo hasn't been much better. Having said that, I would still probably give Ronaldo the nod. Not Rashford though. Sancho walks into the side. I'd go with a midfield three of McTominay, Fred and Bruno. The fullbacks have all been pretty average, so any two from four really. Although Wan Bissaka is good one v one, so that probably carries some weight in this particular fixture. I'd be tempted to go with Lindelof and Varane, but I think Maguire is a good player having a bad time of it.

So something like: De Gea, Shaw, Lindelof, Varane, Wan Bissaka, Fred, McTominay, Fernandes, Sancho, Ronaldo, Elanga.

Depending on the situation, any three from Matic, Pogba, Rashford and Cavani should be used.
