There is no need to use that word, maybe I misunderstud you, sorry if I did, it sounded like you don't want us to win, because it will make Liverpool champions, the word "feck" gave me that impression.
And there is no way in this lifetime for me to be a dick.

Hey Redcafe doesn't censor or alter the word 'dick'. TIL moment right there.

We'll do well lads. Don't worry. United are fairly battle hardened right now.

We'll get hammered if Jose comes up with his usual park the bus tactics.

Said he's going to go toe to toe with City.

"We are going to try [to go toe-to-toe]," Mourinho said. "I cannot say we are going to be successful in our motivations, in our desire, but we played two difficult matches away against two very good teams - Chelsea and Juventus - and we managed to get good results.

Fellaini top right. Sanchez, Pog, Martial overload on the left. Everyone else defend.

If Pogs is out someone please take his phone off him...sure as shit he’ll do something stupid and we’ll see another public spat!

I don't think he will today, but that's not necessarily true, though they probably would find a way through eventually. We could get hammered going on the offensive, which I think we'll try to do. Any team that has a go at City tend to have more joy, but they're a good team and a loss is always a possibility.

Yes we are vulnerable both ways, it will be interesting to see what is our game plan.

Mourinho rarely does mind games in team selections here other than a year or so ago when the squad went to London with no Rashford in sight but he ended up joining the squad later.

    Yeah very true.

Could potentially be another one of those. Pogba not seen but behind closed doors is fine and will be playing.

Oh well, it’s just a be patient and waiting game now.

I'll be honest, I'm dreading it and fear a hiding. We mustn't let them score early, otherwise it could be very painful. If we compete for every ball and give them no room to play, we're capable of giving them a game. Every single player must put in a full shift.

The club has lots of good players and some very good ones.

We play Ashley Young at right back and as our captain. Our first choice centre half partnership is Smalling and Lindelof. The midfield shield is Matic.

We are *still* at least four starting players from competing with the top sides in my opinion.

Our players have struggled to get up for the game in the first half, for quite some time.
They need motivation and normally this comes when they have gone 1 or 2 goals behind.
For this game, Jose should show this graphic to the players.

    not one player from united

Confident we will put a good competitive display today. We will still lose but a close 1-0 or 2-1.

I’d take any sort of result. Being 9 points off top after this game, having hopefully had our lowest point of the season would be good going. We have yet to play any of the bottom 5 and will have Chelsea away and city away done as well as tough wins against teams who were in form when we played them (Watford and Bournemouth away weere both going for 5 wins ina. Row?)

Anything but a defeat. I predicted 1-0 to us 7 games ago and will stick with it but would take a draw.

Well, if it makes you feel better, Jose thought the same thing, but our DoF (Woodward), didn't agree. He thought we were doing just fine....for top 4 :p

If we get beat here even twatted can we not go into full panic mode? These are capable of easily dispatching any team in the world right now so dont forget our progress even if we can't get anything out of this game today.

I’m not really seeing how pretending Pogba is injured would throw any sort of spanner in the City plans. Fit or unfit, your expect Guardiola to have plans for nullifying Pogba. And Fellaini for that matter.

WTF - Ederson over de Gea? Is that Sammy Lee the fat scouse ****?

We'd struggle to get anyone else in, granted.

Not this again, every season we are not 4 players off. In other games we have to play to our players strengths with few tweaks.

Mourinho has bought a new right back. Smalling is fine. Matic is in bad form but the manager is actively seeking to play him in spite of the potentially better options on the bench.

The squad is more than good enough to compete against the top clubs. Any other assessment is just blinkered justification for the shitty job Mourinho is doing, in my opinion.

That’s exactly why I sympathise with Jose. He batonned down the hatches last season due to our defensive limitations. The club should have properly backed him over the summer but they didn’t. Top four looks a dream at this stage.

And who bought Matic and Lindelof may I ask? And who said Young will play 50 games this season?

I agree that he made the signings, but Guardiola has made underwhelming buys too - all managers do. Pep has been allowed to rectify his mistakes though.

Yeah just keep the ball at all times, that's his plan.

Yeah I was just thinking that if we're still 4 players away from challenging the top teams the manager who bought nearly half those players would have something to do with it. We don't have an open cheque book like City so there's not much room for error.

These joint teams are utter nonsense. City are in great form we are not so selecting many of our players will lead to derision. Same as the lukaku morata comparison dredged up every time morata scores a few and lukaku doesn’t.

May be Jose should also target better strategic signings like playmakers than his version of midfielders in the middle.

Our problems start and end at midfield which is awful at controlling games and playmaking.

In fairness to Mourinho he inherited a really shit squad. As you say we don’t have an open cheque book and paid for some horrendous recruitment in the aftermath of Ferguson retiring.

Maybe the club should hire a DoF?

De Gea is a better shot-stopper, but Ederson's all-round game is better. It's not as straight-forward as it may seem.

De Gea is a much better goalkeeper, it really is that simple. Ederson doesnt even come into the debate.

And who bought Matic and Lindelof may I ask? And who said Young will play 50 games this season?

I don't know why a discussion on squad strength always ends up with blame. They're two seperate discussions.

Some nonsense quote about Young doesn't change the fact he needs replacing. A CB, RB, LB, RW are most definitely needed to consider this a top squad.
