I'd like us to take the chance to drop Matic and go Fellaini sat in, with Herrera and Fred ahead of him. It won't happen as Matic will play and probably be the liability he's been all season, but though losing Pogba is shit for us creatively at least we could turn our midfield into a stronger all-action unit without him.

No Fellaini is not a good defensive option. He can change a game by forcing the other team to defend against him for offensive aerial balls. Matic is still technically more gifted then Fellaini. If we go with what you say it should be perreira for Matic and we try to play.

Weirdly not too fussed with that lineup. Only thing I'd change is drop Matic for Fred and keep Sanchez up top.

Sure, Pogba out is frustrating but I have faith in Fellaini. Think he'll cause City a lot more problems up front than Pogba would've. With a dynamic front three in front of Fellaini, I'm sure we can cause them plenty of problems.

Call me crazy but I'm feeling weirdly optimistic.

I dont get Fellainis inclusion in this team. The front 3 suggest the aim is purely to sit back and counter, so Herrera makes complete sense but Fellaini? Not really to many players who can cross consistently in the side to make use of his height.
