  • Looking back at that 7-0 loss a couple of years ago, the maddest thing is it was 0-0 until 42mins!
One lapse of concentration in defence not marking a run, 1-0 at ht then utterly fell away 2nd half.
Half time, I thought "well this is a close game, we're still in this"

Seriously where's the support? We're going to win!! We can be the first team to arrive to Anfield.

The game though 5-0 to Liverpool, they'll score within the first minutes

We can't score anyway and where else do you experiment than at Anfield, am I right?
I'd take away one of the attackers to go with a midfield of three instead.

    Onana
    The three at the back
    Amad - Ugarte - Casemiro - Mainoo - Dalot
    Bruno
    Hojlund

Here's the thing. Very unusual optimism this afternoon for the game. Sure they're pretty hot right now, but there's something different about walking into Anfield and not having to play a Klopp team. It's partly delusional, but I don't know, posssible smash and grab here.

I’d prefer to play a Klopp team. A chaotic game is our only hope. He often seemed to play the name and not the team in front of him. Slot is way too calm for my liking.

I know we basically have no money but it's madness we are where we are and have no signings completed in Jan yet.

    Especially for Left wing back

If we lose, at least let's lose and go down fighting, show some pride, some commitment, some fire in our bellies. let's give our fantastic away fans something to shout about, shut the Scousers up. Show them we are United. Up and at 'em, boys

We haven’t managed to score with Mazraoui and Dalot as wing-backs, but if there’s ever a day to play them, it’s today. Given the circumstances, they’ll likely spend most of the match defending.

Up front, I’d expect Bruno, Højlund, and Amad to form the attack, with Mainoo and Ugarte anchoring the midfield pivot.

At the back, Liverpool’s lack of an aerial threat means Martinez should start despite his recent dip in form. Maguire and De Ligt can complete the back three.

The key is to stay disciplined, avoid unnecessary mistakes, and defend as a unit. Given the contrasting form of both teams, a draw would be an excellent outcome—though, to be fair, a draw at Anfield is a great result even under the best of circumstances.

Just play your hearts out is all I’m asking. Run like hell, tackle like your life depends on it. Don’t look like a deer in the headlights of a goal goes in.

With Oliver in charge, we'll either get a man sent off or concede a penalty. So even if we do somehow pull a performance out of our ass he'll rob us anyway

Hmm, think I've fixed a line up for you that gives a chance to win at Anfield

I remember thinking we were the better team in the first half of that game. Never seen anything like it before or since

I think if they get one we will collapse like a deck of cards, these players are so weak it's infuriating

They won't run, there will be no desire even though it's a Derby.

20 wins you 35 on Liverpool winning to nil, feels like easy money.

We are entirely relying on the occasion to even things up. It has in the past and it’s not impossible to see United raising their game (ala city in fa cup final) but it’s form we are looking to find from absolutely nowhere.

Maybe the fact it’s anfield and we’ve been written off might oddly take pressure off the team. I’d love to think that maybe this could be a springboard (like the Pool game for ETH) but again it’s hard to see how United just clicks.

I think most would accept a defeat that’s not a thumping with some signs of quality or green shoots.

Just get to 30 mins without conceding and take it incrementally from there. The longer we keep them out, the more pressure they'll feel on a day where all their fans are probably wondering how many they'll score rather than whether or not they'll win.

Prediction : we will be a bit for competitive than people think, and see some more composure but clearly be the weaker team all the same. It will be close maybe 1 nil or so, when Oliver makes a terrible call that either prevents and equaliser or leads to Liverpool doubling their lead. After that it will be a comfortable Liverpool result

I might pretend it's cancelled and move on with my normal life like nothing happened.

Given our recent form, and theirs, it’s hard to imagine anything other than a fifth defeat on the trot. If we do concede first, I fear this group of players will capitulate, and the opposition will show no mercy.

It’s as grim as I can remember as a United fan. Actually going into our biggest game hoping the snow will do us a favour and delay the pain.

Would like to hope everyone will be up for it and we could grind out some sort of result. But all hopes seem to have left me. If I had any sense I’d not watch, but it’s become a morbid fascination of how much worse can it get? Depressing, I know.
