Manchester United have not conceded a goal in Open play while Casemiro, Varane, Martinez are in the field. Seems not true but telling it's true. How remarkable.

I've tried to confirm it, and it looks genuinely correct. The Grealish goal was one came to mind but amazingly Martinez was not in the field. They have started 8 games together.

    So bring Anfield...

    That's a wild stat

I will be surprised and obviously delighted if we win this as I think there is a good chance Liverpool will have one of those performances that kick start their season. If you look at the last few weeks bar the Madrid game, they are on a resurgence. This won’t be easy. Biggest test of the season so far.

    Bar the Madrid game?
You mean when they actually played decent opposition? They are shit. Their midfield is shit and they have a right back who can’t defend.

It’s the only 90 minutes of the season that anfield is loud throughout the match, it usually gets very quiet after 5 minutes but it won’t on Sunday. It’ll be a difficult test for our players, I’d take a draw now, it’ll not knock our momentum and it’ll put another dent in their top 4 hunt.

I think the starting Xi picks itself. Dalot will probably start if there isn't much threat coming from right. WW up front pressing the Liverpool defence and dropping back to tackle CM. Win, lose or draw, I am not worried about this team. Even if we lose, we are likely finishing top 4 because the way we are playing now. If we win, Liverpool will have a psychological breakdown and it will show to the world that we are back and shut up all the ex-liverpool pundits for good and admit it is the end of the era for them.

They've tightened up at the back, but remain weak in midfield where we are vastly superior. Play Cas, Sabitser and Bruno and we should dominate them. If we get an early goal, we could make it a hammering as they chase the game. The trick will be the players keeping their heads I think, as they'll make it a cauldron and try to stir us up. Need the likes of Licha and Bruno to stay on the right side of the line.

Surely due a result at Anfield. But Liverpool will be right up for this- and rightly so. Won’t be an easy game. It never is. Form book goes out of the window in these games. And they’re always a lot duller than the build up.

You forgot the crystal palace game

Yeah quietening that cauldron atmosphere was difficult under Fergie

Hopefully Casa has learnt lesson about staying right side of line

They soon shut up when/if they go two goals down.

I remember I think it was Neville saying at Anfield they just had to weather the storm for the first twenty minutes, then get into the game and shut their fans up

Hoping Martinez and Casemiro to set the mood early and throw in some heavy tackles. The away fans will raise it to another level then.

Expecting ten Hag to have an LVG-like approach where we look for an early sucker punch. Coordinated press then spring the wide forwards if we win the ball.

A scouser putting his hand on Mario Balotelli's shoulder after getting tackled is the sixth best PL Man Utd vs Liverpool moment but there's no Juanfield.

    Alright, lads.
Damn, I completely forgot Balotelli played for the Scouse.

This is one of them games. Liverpool could have a stormer and narrowly win or we could score early and their confidence goes and a full collapse is on the cards. There are many questions Ten Haag needs to ponder. The defence is set already it’s just a question of Dalot vs AWB.
The midfield is basically set. I suppose it’s Fred or Sabitzer with Cas and Bruno.
Does Wout play? I personally think he was poor Wednesday. What choices do we have there? Bruno in a 10 with Fred, Sabitzer and Cas in midfield?

Please give us the second option because only team to give them a hiding at Anfield in league with crowd was Chelsea in 05. Amazingly not had our usual training injury before this fixture which was standard for few seasons

London Utd fan and Southern Liverpool fan on Utd view, jeez that really isn't a good image

A very valid point, I’d take us winning by a goal to nil.

Last goal we scored at Anfield was in 2018 by Jesse Lingard. Since then:

    0-4
    0-0
    0-2

We have conceded 14 goals in our last five games against Liverpool in the League.

Think we‘re due a result to be honest. Last win at Anfield in January 2015.

    De Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Varane Martinez Shaw
    Casemiro Fred
    Antony Bruno Rashford
    Weghorst

Beating those cnuts would be massive and would make my entire month. Can't stand their delusional fanbase and they would be unbearable if they win.

I'm not sure if what resurgence people are seeing either. I think the table is changing the perceptions of what's present in reality, despite Newcastle's drop I form which has changed the narratives. Even Carragher was able to perfectly define Liverpool for the rest of the season saying they'll win 2 or 3 and lose / draw an equal amount on the bounce.

Yeah we need to get Rashford at Trent and Antony would give us some ball retention high up the field.

My only question would be - should we go with Casemiro/Sabitzer/Fred and use Brunonout right - just to completely expose their shit midfield?

having Antony Garnacho and Sancho on the bench are great game changing options

I hate these matches. I never anticipate them like I did with say, the Barca matches recently or the cup final.

It's just stomach-churning nerves the whole match.

I was thinking the same. But I think ETH will start with Weghorst and then bring on Sabitzar for later in the game when Liverpool begin to get tired. ETH uses his subs to win the games. His first 11 is to just stay in the game.

Whatever happens we've come a damn long way since being absolutely humiliated to this lot under Ole at OT last season. Let's see if we can extract some sort of revenge at Anfield for that harrowing day.

Weghorst was one of our best on Wednesday.
