These cnuts always turn up at their home ground when playing us. Their playing squad could be riddled with terminal cancer and paraplegic but they’d still somehow beat us.

I await the day we can finally massacre them like 4-0 at Anfield, because they sure have done that to us at OT these past 15 years or so.

Shaw and Sancho likely to be back in contention.

Neither pictured in the training pictures/videos from yesterday. Would expect Shaw to start if back in training today and Sancho to be on the bench if back today.

Yeah he said neither were back yet but he’s expecting them to be.

Im really confident about this even though i have no idea what will be our line up. This is almost back to the time when Fergie can start 7 defenders against Arsenal still comfortably win. This is how much I trust ETH again. 3-0 to us.

I love Ten Jag presser. Not taking any shit about Anfield being a special place to go or any of the nonsense.
Pitch same, ball same, let’s go play our game

So in 96-97 and 97-98 we beat them 3-1 at Anfield. Since then we've never won by more than 1 goal and played badly nearly every single year:

98/99 - Liverpool 2-2 Man United - Pissed away a 2 goal lead late on
99/00 - Liverpool 2-3 Man United - Decent but kept letting them back in
    00/01 - Liverpool 2-0 Man United - Shite
    01/02 - Liverpool 3-1 Man United - Shite
02/03 - Liverpool 1-2 Man United - Terrible keeper mistakes saw a scrappy win
03/04 - Liverpool 1-2 Man United - Again, bad keeper mistakes saw a scrappy win
04/05 - Liverpool 0-1 Man United - Narrow win, again a keeper error for the goal
    05/06 - Liverpool 0-0 Man United - Crap game
05/06 - Liverpool 1-0 Man United - Awful FA Cup defeat
06/07 - Liverpool 0-1 Man United - Biggest smash and grab you'll see
07/08 - Liverpool 0-1 Man United - Actually a decent performance but still scrappy win
    08/09 - Liverpool 2-1 Man United - Shite
09/10 - Liverpool 2-0 Man United - Shite against a team in piss poor form
    10/11 - Liverpool 3-1 Man United - Shite
11/12 - Liverpool 1-1 Man United - Shite, rescued late on from a corner
11/12 - Liverpool 2-1 Man United - Awful FA Cup defeat
    12/13 - Liverpool 1-2 Man United - Squeezed a result against a 10 men awful Pool side
13/14 - Liverpool 1-0 Man United - Decent performance but lost
14/15 - Liverpool 1-2 Man United - Excellent performance and win
15/16 - Liverpool 0-1 Man United - Two shite teams, scrappy winner
    16/17 - Liverpool 0-0 Man United - Shite game
    17/18 - Liverpool 0-0 Man United - Shite game
    18/19 - Liverpool 3-1 Man United - Shite
    19/20 - Liverpool 2-0 Man United - Shite
    20/21 - Liverpool 0-0 Man United - Shite game
    21/22 - Liverpool 4-0 Man United - Awful

There's a few good scrappy wins but genuinely 1 great performance.

    Are we due another one?

11 wins for Liverpool vs 9 for United at their home ground. I will take that any day.

...the hostile atmosphere....We Like it

feck them - even if we lose on the day.
The process for United is not going to be derailed in one day if we lose one game.

    Im looking forward to it.

Hope Shaw is fit to start. We should feast down the left hand side with him and Rashford up against TAA.

Don't disagree but we have to at some point pay them back for the 5-0 at old Trafford last season.

Not to mention the 4-1 at old Trafford in 2009..

The other thing is I'm seeing more and more Liverpool fans and journos saying they have turned the corner, they will go on a run now to get back into top 4.

Would be fanfeckingtastic if we put paid to that.

I think we'll win, ETH never disappoints against big teams or in games where you think you're in trouble. Seen it at Ajax, seen it this season. Liverpool are still inconsistent and all the pressure is on them. 1-2 United.

As always survive the first 20 mins and our midfield should be able to dominate proceedings. They’ll go long as they have been for years so we need AWB not to switch off (as he’s been liable to do since he came)…

List of Top ten moments in our games. The only united moments in that are Betbatov hat trick, Gerard red card. For some reason Juanfield wasn't in there.

In any case we owe them a big one at Anfield. At some point.

Yeah would rather we didn’t go 2-0 down like Madrid did,yes they came back but is different prospect for us

Not sure we'll see AWB. His strengths are against tricky one on one wingers, Liverpool don't do that.

Seriously? Who has more to lose if they lose this game. It's a simple question.

ten Hag took your simple question and blew it out of the water. It matters more to us, we need an away win against one of our rivals and ten Hag has given the squad the mentality that it matters more. Simple answer to a simple question.

Yeah still to prove ourselves away from home to a rival yet and this is ideal opportunity

Yes and they also have an elite manager, are at Anfield (where Sir Alex struggled), and their whole season rests on this essentially. Come on. One manager being able to motivate a squad more doesn't mean that the game matters more. That's just a manager doing a better job. All things being equal, the game is more important for Liverpool this season as they have nothing else apart from this, while we have a lot going on besides this game. That's all there is to it. "Who does it matter more to" doesn't take into account how good of a job the manager or the players do on the day. Its literally a simple question of who will have more of a problem if they don't get the result they want. And the answer is clearly Liverpool for that. United if we lose has pretty much 0 impact on our realistic targets, current situation, or general mood and optimism for the future. None of that changes if we lose. It sure as hell does for them.

its always a nerve wrecking game but overall Utd have a good record at Anfield. We are overdue a win there, Rashy to dominate Trent again could be the key.

Yeah that list was 100% edited by a scouser.

Don’t know if it’s just for the last 10 years or what the time period is.
We definitely had more moments. The 2006/07 last minute win alone for example absolutely is one of those moments considering it helped us big time keeping momentum in a close title race AND considering no one else won at Anfield in the league that season.

We concede few chances and De Gea is in great form, so I doubt we'll be trounced.

If we take our chances, we could do a smash and grab.

Against West Ham we hit a lot of shots over the bar. Need to hit the target.

Antony in particular seems to overhit his shots.
No if you can read it says we've been trounced of late there , that won't happen on Sunday. !!!!!!!

Should not have read this thread right before bed last night. Stupid unconscious with some ridiculous dreams/nightmare

First, some how Carragher was playing and scored 2 goals, second was some Laurel and Hardy type defending trying to clear the ball for Carragher to be in the box to score. Woke up and was like wtf was that?

Back to sleep and then have a dream where Licha somehow is in hospital with a quad tear and people are trying to hold him down as he is fighting to try to leave to get to the game because he can't miss it and while am watching that unfold, thinking we can't be playing Shaw as LCB for rest of the season surely.

The positive is that last year, I wouldn't have even cared about the game or the result - now am looking forward to it !

A scouser putting his hand on Mario Balotelli's shoulder after getting tackled is the sixth best PL Man Utd vs Liverpool moment but there's no Juanfield.

    Alright, lads.

With all the rotation of recent games, the team should be like:

    DDG
    AWB Varane Licha Shaw
    Cas Fred
    Antony Bruno Rashy
    Wout

Although our form is red hot, but we are yet to win an away BIG6 ties, I would guess 1-1, 2-2 draw.

One of the most stupid lists, fans holding back Balotelli? What idiot put that together?

Manchester United have not conceded a goal in Open play while Casemiro, Varane, Martinez are in the field. Seems not true but telling it's true. How remarkable.

I've tried to confirm it, and it looks genuinely correct. The Grealish goal was one came to mind but amazingly Martinez was not in the field. They have started 8 games together.

    So bring Anfield...

We are winning this. Play the first half with Wout, then second half go for the jugular with speed. Garnacho and Rashford in behind, they won’t have an answer. 2nd Half Fred to disrupt everything.

Been spoiled rotten with the results recently. Set up for a scouse spoiler, isn't it?

Yep. We haven't won away to City, Arsenal or Chelsea. Yet to play Liverpool, Newcastle or Spurs away. Let's see if we can get improvement in this area.

Afraid it could well be, else they’ll try and injure one of our key players and get away with it along with other decisions thanks to an Anfield friendly lenient ref.
