    McFred and Varane are out.

    De Gea

    AWB Lindelof Maguire Dalot

    Lingard Jones Matic

    Bruno Ronaldo Sancho

Jones to be recalled only because we can guarantee he’ll put a shift in.

Plus he‘ll take responsibility for his attacker, something that simply didn’t happen v Norwich.
Big blow no McFred, probable Pogba and Matic in the middle isn’t very inspiring.

True, though I think Strachan replaced Wilkins.

It's a sad fact that so many key United players around then were shockingly injury prone. It's not really surprising that a drinking culture developed in the weeks of enforced idleness.
I think you are right about Strachan replacing Wilkins. It was a shame about injury prone players, we had some good players in the 80s, whoever was playing would give their all everytime against Liverpool though.

Get Ronaldo a lawn chair and a nice book to read.

I want to see some fight in our performance. Ralf has to get it right tactically.
Will we go diamond? Will we go 442/4222?
I don't think too much in how we set up Will have an effect on the outcome. Personal performances and application will.

Just give us an honest performance, whatever the outcome I will be satisfied if they give EVERYTHING.

Defo need to go back 3/5 for this one as we’ve no Fred or mctominay. Bring in Bailly, his pace is always good to have against mane/Salah. Go 3-4-3, sancho, Ronaldo, Elanga. Let Elanga and sancho run at them and behind them. Use telles as LM/LWB to whip in the crosses for Ronaldo.

The people putting Jones in their line up are mental. Playing Jones after how long out against the most pressing and intense team in the league.

The amount of luck Liverpool are having is just unreal

Liverpool playing a injury ravaged crap Utd team while city playing one of the inform teams in the PL.

When Liverpool player Brighton, they were on a 5 match losing streak!

Anyway, only way Utd can keep the score down at Anfield is man mark their full backs and 2 forwards

To do that, Rangnick will need to bring in AWB, Bailey and Shaw.

Predicted a loss in the score prediction. First time I have ever thought we will lose in nearly 60 years of supporting United.

Just re-watched United vs Liverpool 1999 at Anfield and Liverpool absolutely sucked that year (finished 7th) but they were really up for it that night to stop our treble charge. The effort they put in to stop us was very evident (with massive help from the referee too).

Even if we lose just put some effort into it, please!
Ref couldn't wait to send Irwin off.

We have to go with width at the back, sacrifice an attacker for a midfielder/defender.

    ------------------------------------DeGea-----------------------------------
    AWB--------Bailly----------Varane--------Maguire-------Dalot
    -----------------------Lindelof-------Matic-------------------------------
    ---------Elanga---------------Bruno---------Sancho-----------

Elanga and Sancho for speed closing down their fullbacks.
No Pogba anywhere near this one.
Bruno to man-mark Salah as much as he can.
There is no goal-scoring threat in this lineup. The only way we're scoring in this one is a penalty.
Mata for Matic at half time.
Rashford or Lingard on for Sancho 2nd half.
Lindelof played as a DM for club and country, and since we are fresh out of DMs, I put him alongside Matic.
Our back 5 is going to be a chaotic mess, I don't think that changes in any possible combination of defenders.
Bruno can be a false 9. We play with a striker we are dead.
It's going to be ugly. It's going to be unpleasant.

I'm worried now, I was expecting that could be used as an extra motivation but it's not even part of it. Does he not understand that Liverpool is Man United biggest rival which something the fans hate more than anything if Liverpool win quadruple?

You genuinely think Lindelof will get the nod over Pogba?

The people putting Jones in their line up are mental. Playing Jones after how long out against the most pressing and intense team in the league.
Well yes, but it may have been a good idea to keep him in contention by giving him some decent sub run-outs, in the event that a situation like this arose. It’s not that unexpected for United to have loads of injuries all at once.

I just have this feeling of dread that he’s going to start Rashford instead of Elanga or Sancho.
Rashford is a local lad, he hates Liverpool.
So maybe it won’t be a bad idea.

If he somehow scores and stops them getting 3 points, he knows he will be close to a legend as came be, post Fergie !

It's strange that everyone seems to forget we were the ones to basically stop Liverpool from beating City that year when they finished a point behind.

We played them at OT, Ole had to use all three subs in the first 30 and we still held on. In fact, if Chris Smalling was a proper footballer, we would have stolen it at the death.

Those two dropped points cost them the title in the end and I always remember our fighting spirit in that game despite playing Pereira and such in midfield.

I'm worried now, I was expecting that could be used as an extra motivation but it's not even part of it. Does he not understand that Liverpool is Man United biggest rival which something the fans hate more than anything if Liverpool win quadruple?

That quote my word. As if I needed any more evidence Maguire should be playing in the Championship. What a mental midget.

Hopefully Liverpool fans keep it classy and don't pull of anything crass and rude in light of recent news.
Every fanbase has that idiotic enclave among them god willing we won't see any of em Tommy night.

Ronaldo might miss this game and rightfully so.

He did play the following game when his father died but this is a different situation.

Hopefully if he does play Liverpool fans keep it classy.

If he does play I hope he can score some goals in honor of his baby boy.

    —————De Gea————

    AWB Lindelof Maguire Telles

    ——Lingard Matic Bruno——

    —Elanga——Rashford —-Sancho

    Hard working but positive football.

    De Gea
    Dalot - Lindelof - Maguire - Telles
    Bruno - Matic - Pogba
    Elanga - Lingard - Sancho

Could see it being this now with the Ronaldo news. Lingard dropping back in where needs be.

Maguire said nothing wrong in that quote. He'd be getting slated from all angles if he said otherwise.

On the page 6 right at the top of the page, I made a statement about hoping the player will use the intention of stopping Liverpool from winning quadruple as a motivation. I'm sure the fans expect our players to try get something to stop Liverpool from winning quadruple not otherwise.

That quote is much worse than saying stopping Liverpool from quadruple which shows players don't care about the fans or may be he's just clueless about Liverpool being our most rival in the country and the fans hate them with passion.

    Completely agree.

I would definitely leave Ronaldo at home to be with his family. Not sure who are injured but I wouldn't field the strongest squad anyway, given the higher priority of Arsenal and then Chelsea five days later.

    De Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Telles
    fecking McFred if they're fit
    Rashford Lingard Sancho
    Elanga

This is not a squad that will get the win for us, but hopefully will keep the score down to 4-0.

I would even consider a back three as I'd like to see Bailly get a game in, but none of this really matters. We will get thrashed, but at least in getting thrashed we can keep the Anfield crowd from seeing Ronaldo and Varane in action.

We should absolutely do what Liverpool have been doing to us when they have been chasing the top4 in their preKlopp years, raise our fecking game and try to cause a massive upset to the other team.

By the time it’s kick off we’ll have no players left the way this week is going. Feckin cursed this season I swear.
Rashford up top will at least give us some pace (if he turns up).

Jeezus, what's wrong with that? If you have a issue with one of the players, just go wank and come back more balanced. Or take a deep breath and stay away from the internet. Pathetic that some kids on football forum will get on back of some players because their personal frustration and agenda.

With Ronaldo likely out, I would play Rashford at CF with Sancho and either side of him. I know he’s in horrible form but against the best teams, you pick your best lineup available. Form goes out of the window in these games.
We have to try and hit them with pace and really hurt them when we have the ball.

Was thinking about possibly starting Pogba on the wing but I really think our only chance is to hit them on the break and Pogba would be an obstacle to that.

Bruno false 9 - I would have recommended this even before the sad Ronaldo news, apart from that we shouldn’t pander too much to them otherwise it will be counterproductive
