    Holland is being poor. Bring Zirkzee on. That being said, when we get in good positions to cross, he is the only one in the box. He also has been ignored when he has made run in channels, which is more to his strength than playing with his back to goal.

    No change in tactic, it's just that Garnacho can't be trusted to actually play no.10, so Garnacho has to play the wing-back role when United have the ball and Mazraoui moves into no.10 instead.

    This is the problem with Garnacho. Amorim is forced to move Mazraoui into Garnacho's position.

    This is even more damning of Rasmus surely?

    Their defenders don't have to worry about him. They press forward unafraid and double up on likes of Amad unafraid.

    A good striker would ensure their defenders stay back when their team is going forward and likes of Amad and Garnacho would have more room to operate if Hojlund was taking defenders away from them.

    No. Take off Hojlund, he kills far too many attacks. Ball either bounces off him or he's too busy fighting with the opposition to care about linking up. He's dreadful. In an ideal world he'd be out of the first team altogether but we have zero options.
     
    United really poor. Bruno a fish out of water in CM. Dalot looks busted. Hojlund can't hold up ball.

    Gotta keep the faith but this 3-4-3 really isn't bringing the best out of these players
     
    5 defenders and Ugarte is just far too defensive. Then you have the the Danish Maguire up front. What more can we expect?

    This half was like the first pre-season friendly where everyone is still learning their teammate's names and all of the good players are still on holiday.
     
    I don’t like how people are saying that Amorim’s system is to blame. May I remind people that we looked similarly horrible away to Aston Villa under EtH with four at the back. Some people have short memories.
     
    It is like we are playing a friendly and Fulham are playing for real, we are so slow and ponderous but we would be amazing at seniors walking football
     
    Horrendous game from an attacking point of view. Hojlund hasnt been good unfortunately, we desperately need some inspiration.

    he's never going to be the guy who holds it up on the centre spot, but it would be nice to actually pass to him in the penalty area - we simply don't
     
    It’s the same old same old. We purposely slow the game down from the back. It allows the opposition to fully reset then we have zero intensity when trying to get down the pitch.

    Interchanges between the midfield and defence then we inevitably go wide to the 10’s who shouldn’t be out wide.

    Tame passes around the box then tackled or intercepted and back to our defenders.

    Rinse and repeat.
     
    I do think it's getting to the stage where we need to try another player up front. Whether that is Garnacho, Bruno or even Biancheri when he returns from injury.
     
    Why is everyone still going on about the formation? The formation isn’t the issue. Changing to a back 4 isn’t going to magically make us better going forward. We were often just as inept under ETH.

    Our attack is low quality. Constantly losing the ball in simple situations, thus creating problems for everyone behind them. They also don’t move or think quickly enough and none of this is on the formation. These players have been like this since they’ve been here. Hojlund has no business leading an attack in the PL. maybe he will one day but not now

    I've been all on board the Amorim train of not changing his tactical principles but I admit I'm starting to wobble a bit.

    I honestly can't see what we're trying to achieve during the match nor do I see any progress in our play.
     
    Few things that really struck me watching that half.

    Hojlund is crap. There's nothing to work with, get rid of the guy. Our first two phases are actually okay, but we're playing with someone who I don't think is actually good enough for the Prem.

    Robinson would transform our team.

    Brunos quick passing feels like the only way we're going to get in behind, but again the quality is so low we can't get a shot off. No shots. No goals!
     
    We are an incredibly “meh” team. If we were at least entertaining I’d kinda forgive being bad, but we are boring, soulless AND bad. Life draining 90 mins week in week out.
     
    The 5 at the back kills me. With Ten Hag system atleast we had one more player in attacking positions, this is just too shit to watch. It’s 12am here and these players are just dozing me too sleep. It does not look like I will miss much
     
    People talking about Hojlund and the price tag putting pressure on him... If we'd got him on a free we've still been shafted.
     
    Clear to see that these players are playing with fear. Taking ages to pass the ball and our slowing the play so much, making it easy for Fulham. On top of that, our players make so many basic mistakes it’s shocking. Even if the manager wanted to improve these mistakes, it would take them more than a pre-season as there is so much to fix.
