There's many angles to look at this from. In terms of playing away at a team in the top 10, it's decent. We've kept it tight, but so have they. Very few chances, very little showing from an attacking sense from both sides.
From our point of view, the play stops whenever Dalot gets on the ball. He hasn't got the vision to play the right pass at the right time or to see 2 or 3 moves ahead. He gets into great positions but isn't then able to take us forward from there. There's been a few occasions where an attack has looked promising on his side and it's ultimately come to nothing.
On the other side, I like the idea of Maz coming in field to underlap Garnacho, but he hasn't really got the skill to take it to the next step, which is the same issue at Dalot. It's the same issues where I think the actual system is fine, but we've got two players in key positions who are lacking for what we need.
At opposite ends of the pitch, Onana keeps kicking the ball long, which is frustrating as feck. Hojlund can't keep the ball and he's not particularly good at finding the space for others to play that key pass. He's not giving them much to work with. When he gets the ball, he also can't hold it up.
Those 4 positions are holding us back. We can't keep the ball due to players being wasteful with it, or not offering enough either on or off it.
