  • Terrible advert for the Premier League.

I’m sure everyone will be itching for Zirkzee to come on but we’re only changing this game if either of Bruno, Amad or Garnacho produce some magic. Hojlund or Zirkzee, it’s never yielding anything up there.

I must admit I’m surprised Fulham aren’t not going for it. They’re happy to sit back and try the break vs our back five, whereas most teams just have joy in trying to play through us.

Well that was pretty meh, we need so much more from Hojlund in terms of holding up the ball and actually anything in general, but we have no real attacking threat at all.

Garnacho simply isn't good enough on the ball, he had one nice moment early on but other than that has been easily handled when trying to dribble, and has regularly given the ball away when with wayward passing.
Indeed. And he is also playing in his favourable position out wide

The technical ability of these players to just keep the ball on the ground and under control is shocking.

On the bright side we're in the game and it's still 0-0.

Very poor game of football, really starting to get sick of Hojlund's ability to hold the ball up.

I guess the silver lining is we're not a goal or two down.

When the away support are chanting 'attack, attack, attack' after half an hour it says a lot.

We have been so unambitious in possession. The centre backs really have to step into midfield and offer more. Licha is the only one who has tried/looks like he might use the extra time the centre halves are getting productively.

On the odd occassion we do get upfield, we continue to make baffling decisions in the final third.

You just have to cross your fingers and believe better will come.

I'm sick off this system! We should go back to playing 4-2-3-1 with a big gap between our midfield and defensive line and let the opponents just run through our team without any issue! Works so well past 2 years.
Exactly! The manager should abandon the system that he built his reputation on after just two months so he can get the best out of the likes of Diogo Dalot.

There's many angles to look at this from. In terms of playing away at a team in the top 10, it's decent. We've kept it tight, but so have they. Very few chances, very little showing from an attacking sense from both sides.

From our point of view, the play stops whenever Dalot gets on the ball. He hasn't got the vision to play the right pass at the right time or to see 2 or 3 moves ahead. He gets into great positions but isn't then able to take us forward from there. There's been a few occasions where an attack has looked promising on his side and it's ultimately come to nothing.

On the other side, I like the idea of Maz coming in field to underlap Garnacho, but he hasn't really got the skill to take it to the next step, which is the same issue at Dalot. It's the same issues where I think the actual system is fine, but we've got two players in key positions who are lacking for what we need.

At opposite ends of the pitch, Onana keeps kicking the ball long, which is frustrating as feck. Hojlund can't keep the ball and he's not particularly good at finding the space for others to play that key pass. He's not giving them much to work with. When he gets the ball, he also can't hold it up.

Those 4 positions are holding us back. We can't keep the ball due to players being wasteful with it, or not offering enough either on or off it.

    Sounds like an accurate summary

Imagine travelling up from Manchester on a Sunday evening with a ton of work waiting for you in the morning to be served that crap? I'd just take a sick day tomorrow.

Boring goalless draw but dreading the mistake in us that will give Fulham a goal.

Dreadful 1st half. The most clueless bunch of footballers I have ever seen. Don’t worry though a shiny new 1b new stadium soon, will look fantastic in the champ

EtH got slaughtered for changing his approach, why is Amorim now being asked to do the same?
I understand your point and I am not suggesting Amorim should completely abandon his system. I feel that at this moment we dont have the right players for it and we losing games left and right. Perhaps it would be good to be flexible and make some adjustments over the next 2-3 months in order to get results and finish the season in a respectable position. He can fully implement his system with the addition of new players in the summer. Anyway, lets hope we start winning some games for his sake.

I wish Heartbeat was still on ITV at 7pm. Despised it as a kid but I'd watch it over this shit. Get Claud Greengrass on for Hojlund at HT.

I fell asleep in the first 10 minutes and woke up by the 40th. Looking at the stats it doesn't look like I missed much

We played basically our only good football under Amorim with a winger in one of the wingback positions... So we've fecked Antony off on loan in order to play five defenders every game.

    I don't understand.

Take Maz out. Bring in Eriksen
. Move Dalot to the left. Amad to RWB. Bruno at #10.

This insipid 5 at the back shit is awful & isn't taking us anywhere.

The set up and players are crap. Our attack is bottom half quality and our wingbacks are full backs, they are being given a job they simply cannot do.

I get the sense our players know the league means nothing this season, they're just wanting to finish 17th.

They are much likely to give two shits for cup games, so buckle in for these ptiful levels of effort in the PL so long as are not in danger of relegation.

There must be room for Eriksen in this team. Few of them who actually knows what football is and plays with his brain. Put Amad as wingback and Eriksen instead of one of wingbacks.

Zirkzee needs also to come on because of his physics compared to Hojlund if we want to continue with this tactic.
