we need a big win again to get the confidence going. Our attack and general control of the game has been unconvincing and Mourinhoesque the last 4 matches against lesser teams and we were lucky not to concede.

We won the hoe game 4-1 but if I recall we took our foot of the gas and only got our 4th late after they had a man sent offf. Away games are tougher but if we do get 2-0 in front I expect us to truly smash them.

There heads would probably drop, game plan go out of the window and we could catch them on the counter.

It’s all about getting that 1st and maybe 2nd goal against a packed defence. I think Mata deserves a run out here and could unlock defences. Probably would go Martial and Lukaku alongside with Tuesday in mind. In midfield would put Fred in place of Herrera and hopefully bring Andreas for Matic. I feel Pogba can keep going without a rest.

Would have been a game for Fellaini if he were still here

Please play Dalot I am sick to death seeing Young start and get the 3 points thats all.

This hateful comments towards Young is just shameful to our club. Please, if you don't like the player, be respectful about it.

I expect some rotation but who is that pessimistic that they preceded a 5:0 win to Fulham in the score predictor … @Catt is that you?
    I don't predict scores :)

Also I'm not sure why I get all the flack for being negative when it's far worse posters on the forum. It's because I'm female, isn't it? :wenger:

Feel like we might give a couple players a rest in this fixture, PSG game on Tuesday will be massive

    De Gea
    Dalot Bailly Jones Shaw
    Fred Matic Pogba
    Mata Lukaku Sanchez

Such a headache even for United fans trying to decide who to rest without losing the game.

Must be great being City having a bench of £50m players.

Tbh we have Lukaku, Sanchez, Fred, Mata who all cost big money.

    Dalot
    Bailly
    Lindelof
    Shaw

    Herrera
    Fred
    Pogba

    Mata
    Rashford
    Martial

Edit - unless Smalling is fit. I'd give him a game here if possible.

Can't see them being overly defensive for this one, they're running out of games to save themselves, and need to fight for wins or die trying. Don't think their attack has much to trouble our defence though. Can see Lindelof bossing Mitro.

Seen quite a bit of Fulham this season, and defensively they're really poor; can honestly see them being pulled apart by our combinations up-front if we're on it.

Matic and Young are the only ones I'd consider resting. We need to win.

I cannot. He is very physical and has bullied a number of central defenders already this season. He dominated Dunk and Duffy in their 4-2 home win, and those are two big physical lads.

It is, maybe, one of those "manager of the month curse" I just find out about, and laughed so loud my coworkers were looking at me like I am weirdo, well...
Is there "player of the month curse" as well? Need another laugh. Bad day in the office...

    No Lindelof or Fred?

    Shame about fred

    I went with

    --------------DDG---------------
    Dalot--Smalling--Jones--Shaw
    --------------Matic--------------
    ------Herrera-----Pogba--------
    -------------Lingard------------
    -------Rashford---Martial------

Subs: McTominay for one of the mids, Sanchez and Lukaku for Lingard and Rashford.

Bailly, Lindelof, Young rested for PSG. Hopefully we can sub Matic or Pogba early in 2nd half if we're comfortable.

Really what's the thing about Fred? is he doing THAT bad in training that OGS is not even considering for the bench?

Strange with no Fred. Maybe he traveled alone?

Hoped to see one of Herrera or Matic rested for Fred.

    Backline will hopefully be :
    Dalot---Smalling--Jones---Shaw

    Front three :
    Lukaku--Rashford--Martial

No problem with Lukaku starting as long as Rashford is nr.9

I'd assume Jones and Bailly are starting with Smalling having a look see at about the 60th minute. Smalling won't be match fit and I think Ole will feel playing the other two who have games under their belt is the safest option.

PSG game is important regardless of our chances as anything can happen in CL, but Fulham represents an opportunity to go 4th if City do us another favor (we really are best buddies with them this season aren't we?). So I guess Martial-Rashford-Mata would be the front 3 with Lingard getting a rest.

I’d rest Matic completely (Mata replacing him and Herrera then sitting deepest). Sub off Pogba around 60 mins...

    4-2-3-1

    De Gea
    Dalot
    Bailly
    Jones
    Shaw
    Herrera
    Pogba
    Sanchez
    Mata
    Martial
    Rashford

I hope we don't rest anyone. We made that mistake against Burnley. Get the game won and manage the last 30 mins of the game. This could be a very big weekend.

Mctominay in and Fred out again. I wonder is Mctominay even considered as a footballer? We need to give Matic or Herrera a rest!

So could we see Smalling and Jones starting this? Yay..

This. Start a strong eleven, take players off if we are 2 goals clear.

    Dave
    Dalot Bailly Lindelof Shaw
    Herrera Matic Pogba
    Lingard Rashford Martial
Yeah but if you start players they play an hour. Off the bench they play 30 minutes.

Unfortunate that Lindelof isn't there. Did he pick up a knock or is he just rested?

Not sure which CB partnership we'll go with. It's probably the best game we can bring Smalling back into any time soon, so maybe go with him and Bailly, with Lindelof returning for PSG and Liverpool.

    de Gea
    Dalot Bailly Smalling Shaw
    Herrera Matic Pogba
    Lingard Rashford Martial
    ---
Romero; Jones, Young, McTominay, Mata; Sanchez, Lukaku

Grant and Chong to probably miss out on being in the 18. It's tempting to leave out Lingard for one of the other forwards, but we can't be risking too much on not winning this game. We have to take our (very big) chance to be in fourth place by the time we play Liverpool in the League.
