I get resting Lindelof but I'm surprised Fred and Pereira aren't even in the travelling squad. I'd start the Chuckle brothers at CB and save the Lindelof/Bailly combo for PSG.

McTominay can't be trusted so I see Matic having to start along with Herrera and maybe Mata in Pogba's role, I know lots want to play Herrera in Matic's role but I'll believe it when I see it, I think Matic is viewed as the only proper holding midfielder at the club.

The forward line could well see Lukaku and Sanchez in it but I'd be worried if it does, Martial should be able to start as he's missed a bit of time and Rashford is just essential right now.

I’m not really surprised about Pereira he has been pretty shitty in the last oportunities he got.

But Fred is a mistery, maybe some attitude problems? Ole has give him little to no chances, considering how thin our midfield is, the busy calendar we got and the need to rest some players, he must be really really poor in training to not even being considered in the traveling squad.

Got the impression that he did not follow instruction in the game he started during Christmas.

Is Lindelof injured or is his baby due? His wife has gone back to Sweden I think.

Maja posted on Instagram today a pic of her walking near the Bollin River, 5 mins from their house in Hale Barns. Last week she did a post which mentioned 8 weeks to go. She was in Sweden in Jan, been back in Manchester since late Jan.

No idea whether Lindelof is injured or just rested for this game.

They never mentioned injury, so presume he is rested ahead of PSG game.

Fred started against Huddersfield and was substituted after 53 mins when Huddersfield were dominating after half-time. Against Reading in the FA Cup he last 62 mins before being substituted. This idea that he hasn't been given enough chances is ridiculous. He has more mins than Pereira and McTominay put together this season.

If you watched the FA Cup game against Reading, it was clear which of the three was the best performer. It wasn't Fred.

Perhaps Fred is just crap in training. There doesn't always have to be a big mystery involved in why a player is never picked.

Yeah but if you start players they play an hour. Off the bench they play 30 minutes.

We need the theee points and I don’t trust our second unit. I expect some rotation but hopefully not too much.

    De Gea
    Dalot Bailly Smalling Shaw
    Fred Herrera Pogba
    Mata Rashford Martial
Have a feeling Smalling will start (v Mitrovic).
Fred to come in again - Matic rested while hopefully we can rest Pogba, Rashford & Herrera after 60 minutes before PSG.

Full strength team go for their throat, no messing about with the starting eleven get the the points on the board.

I wouldn't change that attitude for the remainder of the season, unfortunately, their bad early season form has cost the squad players the chance to show the manager what they can offer.

Chance is a proper chance. In a strong team with Pogba et al, not with Pereira and McTominay, and with good attackers. He was given ... let’s count... right, none at all

From what I saw of Fred, he doesn't quite fit the team.

Can press and attack but not efficiently enough to be a focal point in midfield. Can defend a bit but doesn't have the tough street smart game of Herrera. He's stuck in the middle.

It can't be just a coincidence that both Mourinho and Ole don't rate him. Yes, I know Mourinho signed him and that most players looked bad under him, but still, doesn't mean one or two players weren't really bad.

Yet on here McTominay gets no credit for performances against Liverpool and Chelsea last season. Fred has been shit, no excuses.

Even though Pereira hasn't been good we are so short of options I would have thought if Fred isn't travelling then he would have.

The Fred situation is weird, people keep making excuses but it does seem like there's an issue of some sort as he's not injured and with the PSG game on Tuesday then surely this was a game to play him in and rest one of our key CM's for the CL game.

All this talk about resting players is nonsense. Fergie's blueprint was always the same, play your best 11, get a comfortable lead, then take off your best players and close the game down with defensive minded players off the bench. We can't get complacent when the margins are so tight for securing a top 4 position.

Lindelof the sole absence in the squad is a bit weird. Why would not have him in the squad even if we are resting him? Hope he's not injured as we're fecked against PSG without him.

Fergie would rotate one or two players for specific matches then go back to the status quo, however the difference is that Fergie was able to trust any starting XI because they were disciplined and understood the game tactic (i.e. their role).

Fergie often started with second fiddle players if there was a big game coming up midweek.

I would rest one or two key players. Rashford imo needs to be absolutely fresh for Juventus and maybe Matic. Pogba can go on.

When they were all on the pitch vs Reading, Scott was the best midfielder. Scott has credit from last season. No one complains when McTominay is left out do they?

This. I'm yet to see Pereira or Fred put on the type of performances McTominay displayed against Liverpool and Chelsea.

    Fulham are absolutely terrible.

I think we'll give Fred, Lukaku, Dalot and Mata a run out and beat Fulham comfortably.

We can't afford to rest Pogba imo, sub him early if we Are cruisin. Matic should see this from the bench though.

    Lukaku
    Martial Mata Alexis
    Pogba Ander
    Shaw Jones Chris Dalot
    God

    Squad

Goalkeepers (3): De Gea, Romero, Grant
Defenders (6): Dalot, Jones, Young, Shaw, Bailly, Smalling
Midifelders (4): Matic, McTominay, Herrera, Pogba
Forwards (7): Chong, Lukaku, Rashford, Lingard, Mata, Sanchez, Martial
Pereira is good in training thats what we know, McTominay probably has also the right attitude, considering Jose liked him for a reason other than height. Fred on the other hand must be really shit, some thought he would start the game, not even in the squad ffs.

It's a bit weird that Fred's not even travelling. I thought he would come off the bench at least. Jeez...

Anyway, here's hoping we have a nice easy game tomorrow and get the chance to give the team some rest in preparation for PSG.

After his contract, I can see Jones starting tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if we see something like this:

    De Gea
    Young, Bailly, Jones, Shaw
    Matic
    Herrera, Pogba
    Lingard
    Rashford, Martial
Bring off Pogba for Mata, Rashford for Lukaku, Matic for McTominay.

I was sure that he was going to start tomorrow! Must be injured if he's completely left out.

So a grand total of 105 minutes in the last 10 games for our 50 million midfielder, I would think he would had got more chances by now but it’s clear he is doing something wrong if not surely he would had got more chances by now.

I’m by no means defending Fred, I think we should cut our loses short and sell him in the next window. What surprises me is that he isn’t even pick as part of the squad, when we have the PSG natch in a couple of days.

It's a bit impatient to write off Fred when he's hardly played for us. Also, when he has played, it's been in a changed lineup which does no-one any favors. No-one knows if he's not good enough yet.

I actually think the little times he has played, he has looked talented on the ball. It's off the ball where he has looked suspect which hopefully is just him adjusting to the premier league.

I'd like to see him get a run of games in a settled lineup first, then we can see.

I remember when Shaw was getting a game here and there last season and looked off the pace, you had many people clamoring for him to get sold... Now look at him after he's finally had the chance to put together a run of games.

Yes, it's strange why he hasn't been involved more this season but, only the coaching staff know if it's purely because they don't rate him and not other reasons.
