This badge looks like a green headed horse soaking in a hot tub over a blue basketball. With that said, they score first, but we come roaring back to fluke a 1-2 win.
The horse is breathing fire for whatever reason.

Pressure is mounting on ETH, we’re going to play well and win, which would save his job for a while longer, rinse and repeat.
Nah this was mostly an Ole phenomenon, he was constantly dodging the sack with some big performances when backed into a corner. With Ten Hag we're just consistently rubbish and somehow he survives anyway.

    Onana
    Mazraoui Maguire De Ligt Martinez
    Ugarte Casemiro
    Amad Eriksen Garnacho
    Hojlund

I would drop Diogo Dalot. I know players make mistakes and some of them get punished, but he was massively at fault against Spurs. You can't just give someone the freedom of Old Trafford to score a tap in, which is what he did when he didn't bother tracking Brennan Johnson.

I know Maguire and De Ligt has lack of pace written all over it but Dalot has to be benched to get the message across. He will be back, but he needs to learn.

I think he will go back to the cup final style formation of 4-2-2-2 as a last hurrah

For those who think that if we lose, ETH will be fired.
    IMO, he won't be fired.
ETH will continue losing, drawing and winning matches. We won't build up any sort of consistency (negative or positive) and in the Summer he will be relieved of his services.
It will take a monumental battering in 2 successive games for INEOS to even think about firing him.

The issue they have now is that if they fire him, they'll still have to pay his salary, but more importantly, the temporary replacement (probably RvN), probably won't do much better.
The time to fire him was in the Summer (so the new manager could get a full pre-season and start buying his preferred players), but due to INEOS's incompetence, we are now in this dire situation.

Given the above, I think we should just hope for a win and also hope that the out-of-form players start improving.

They are. Squad is worth around 300m, roughly the same as Southampton's.

    Haha.
We specialise in making lesser teams look like world-beaters.
ETH has us consistently playing like the underdog against the lower-ranked teams.

You guys have a lot of overpriced players to be fair, but yeh that's the reality of Portuguese football, we make good players, we can't keep them for long though.

meh... go with a 451 formation, pack the midfield. Case, Ugarte, Mount, Bruno and Erikson with Hojlund up top.

    Just try something new. FFS.

Can’t see it. would like us to try Inzaghi or Amorim with a 3 at the back formation for us. They specialise in that formation. We have a few solid CBs. A solid DM.

Porto is under financial problems, they have the weakest squad from the last 15/20 years. No excuses.

This is going to hard a we might well lose if we dont try something different like a 5-2-2-1 with the wingbacks providing the width

    Onana

Dalot De Ligt Maguire Lizu Mazroaui

    Mainoo Ugarte

    Bruno Zirkzee

    Hojlund

    Porto's at home this season P4 W4 Scored 11 and conceded 1

In their home Champions league games last season

    Lost to Barcelona 1-0
    Won 2-0 v Antwerp
    Won 5-3 v Shakhtar Donetsk
    Won 1-0 v Arsenal

The season before in the Champions League at home they drew with Inter Milan 0-0, beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 and Bayer Leverkusen 2-0. They oddly lost 4-0 to Club Brugge and then a month later beat them 4-0 in Brugge.

Every result would be a win in its way so will be relaxed watching this game.

    Van der sar
    O'Shea Ferdinand Vidic Evra
    Carrick Anderson
    Ronaldo Rooney Giggs
    Berbatov
With Scholes, Nani and Tevez on the bench.

Reading the names of that team brought a smile to my face and boy oh boy did we have some proper ballers.

What would that United team do to this current United team? Double digit scoreline before the 2nd half?

Porto fan here, I already predicted the 11 in this thread.

Quality is hard to tell, very young team in a rebuilding stage, but with some good prospects for the future. We have had some good games, some bad, but still, best start of the season in years.

We most likely play 4-3-3 / 4-5-1 when defending, and try to high press you.
We struggle against really defensive teams that counter attack, hopefully Man Utd won’t do that.

Best players, Diogo Costa, Alan Varela, Nico Gonzalez, Galeno and Samu Omorodion.

Samu is currently 5 games 5 goals, so hopefully he will continue his goal streak.

We are a far cry from the best Porto teams of the last decades but still competitive, passed the Champions League stage last year and lost to Arsenal on penalties on the knockout.

Had an awful start to the Europa league last week, so I don’t know what to expect, you guys are awful, but you’re still Man Utd, stronger than the teams we play in our league.

No clear favorite in my opinion.
Thanks, buddy. That's great info. Cheers!

The lack of direction from the manager and the way we're playing we'll lose against a fourth division team.

I was trying to be positive for this one since they managed to lose to Bodö/glimt, but you took that positivity away with this post. They are superstrong at home and we are useless away.
Feels like they can bully us old school with wedgies, head in the toilet and all that jazz.

A man united fan shouldn't have to force themselves to watch their team.
All the pre season bluster has blown away. All the positivity lasted about 1 and half month.

It's just not a Man United team. There is no blood sweat tears from this guy's. We look weak . And we don't fight for the badge. And guess that stems from the manager. You don't mind losing when you have left everything on the field but We haven't done that and that's why it's a hard watch.

These two words get said a lot just before we put in a shit performance. I think the Tottenham matchday thread had a solid page where every post featured them.

We're going to win comfortably. 4 - 0ish and it'll kickstart an unbeaten run like none ever seen.

This is true, but I am sick of watching shite.
That is, sadly, part of being a fan.

It’s a rough patch for us but that rough patch has included 3 domestic cup finals and 2 wins along with European football. United have still had a much better 10 years than 99% of clubs, we are financially strong enough to return to where we want to be but you shouldn’t stop watching/caring just because we aren’t as dominant as we once were. Well…you can…there was that guy on here who announced he was leaving the caf essentially because he wanted to always win and had lost patience though. Not sure he understood how competitive sport works.
