LOL, you want that little man in central defense to contend with Lukaku? Blind has proven his ineptitude at CB in recent matches enough as it is...if he were in there today Lukaku would leave cleat marks up and down his back.
I'm pretty happy with this lineup, LVG finally sees that Memphis and Blind needed to be dropped.
I got 8. I convinced myself that he would pick a side as near to the Arsenal game as possible and told them to put things right. Thank god he didn't. We don't know what state of mind Blind and Memphis were in after Netherlands debacle.7/11

Really really hope it's Rooney out wide. Cannot justify playing Martial on the wing when his performances up front have made us look far more threatening. Even against Arsenal he fashioned that chance with the neat turn against Mertesacker and could or should have scored.14/15 - 3-0 L

All about opinions, but I think Blind has been very, very good at CB. I don't mind Jones coming in, but to say that Blind is inept is going a bit far. Him and Smalling were our best players for most of our early matches (along with Darmian and Shaw).
This is probably a good game to drop him though, Jones will deal with Lukaku better.
If that happens god only knows what the side against City will look like, we are running out of options.14/15 - 3-0 L

Agreed. I think people are far too harsh on almost all of our defenders on here.
That'd be awful. Then again we would be accommodating our captain where he likes to be.Best team currently possible on the pitch. I'd be surprised to see that, Van Gaal has shown that when players are on form he doesn't change them, i.e Blind staying at centre back when Shaw went off injured.Is Valencia injured?
Came back late from international duty, so didn't have enough time to train and prepare for this game.This team, with Shaw and without Rooney would be mint on paper in a 4-3-3.

I think Blinds little dip has largely been due to the changes at LB. Looked quite comfortable with Shaw on the left. Agree with Memphis, reminds me of Richardson, Obertan, Wilson, Greening and Co at the moment. Seems to think he has already made it. Expected a lot more from him.What kits are we playing with?
