According to this bloke, we are getting “schooled” today by Palace & Glasner.

PL Predictions: Glasner & Palace to school Ten Hag
    https://www.skysports.com/share/13218079

A team that haven’t won a league fixture yet and only narrowly scraped past QPR in
Didn't Glasner and Palace last week need a 90th min penalty to steal a point off of Steve Cooper and promoted Leicester?

He brings up last season, admits we had a weakend side but then acts like it didn't matter. As if a back 4 including Evans, Casemiro and Wan-Bissaka is the same level as Martinez, de Ligt and Mazraoui

We'll have a stronger side out than the 4-0 but difficult to see us getting the win here.

Absolutely not, 3 points or bust.

It’s palace for crying out loud.
Yeah it’s only “Palace for crying out loud”

Obviously Utd should be beating Palace all day long….

    Utd 0 - Palace 1
    Palace 4 - Utd 0

    It won’t be easy

Of course it is. That's a fact.

Unsure that plays into the game today though. It's the kind of game one suspects they'll be well up for
When you consider who we have lost against, and who we have beaten our first four games have been very uninspiring

We probably will beat Palace but could feck it up too.

The question for me is who will play in the forward line: Rashford, Amad and Garnacho in form and ZZ offers link up play. Someone will be on the bench.

    Tough result to call.

Palace at home create a difficult atmosphere - and they've also got a solid, competitive team of late. So a tricky fixture for anyone going there.

But our squad is looking good - albeit a bit early for some of the injury returnees / new arrivals who will still need a bit of time to be at their best.

One of those games that's a real 50-50 and could easily go either way. I'd probably go for a draw, but we don't do many draws under ETH so I'd say I'll expect it to be a draw until late on and then as the game becomes stretched and end to end one of the teams will probably sneak a late winner. Hopefully it's our turn to be on the right end of it.

Woke up this morning with the fear we might get brought down to Earth after the week we had. I hope we just perform to the level we can but we’ve been here a few times where good results/ better performances are then met with garbage ones.

We should win but the last few years has left me jaded.

On another note when trying to pick the line up dilemma. How do you drop one of Garnacho, Rashford and Amad. The other two were great this week and Amad has been great so far this season.

Does Zirk make way and you play all 3?

Does Mainoo or Erik miss out or will it be one of Ugarte or Cas.

Feel like he’d go Ugarte, Cas, Bruno for today.

    Onana
    Maz-DeLigt-Martinez-Dalot
    Ugarte
    Cas——-Bruno
    Amad-Rashford-Garnacho
Honestly can’t decide as we finally have options having not been in a position like this for almost a decade. Great place to be. Hopefully Rasmus gets a few minutes as well.

Horrible match. I feel like away at Palace is the most hostile atmosphere we encounter in the league every season.
Really? Can list a few more places that are far more hostile. Newcastle, City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton come to mind immediately.
In fact, i'd say its one of the least hostile venues we go to. We just never turn up on the pitch at Palace. That's the problem. So all the games we play are always nerve-wracking/depressing.

Don’t argue with that, still won’t settle for a draw.

You say that like he didn't have to play a squad he wouldn't even play against a league one side in the league cup

    Amad for Antony
    Bruno for Mount
    Ugarte for Eriksen
    Mazraoui for Wan-Bissaka
    Martinez for Evans
    de Ligt for Casemiro

Not saying we can just show up and expect to win and we'll have to play well but we will be fielding a much better squad
That starting 11 doesn’t justify a 4-0 defeat no matter how you dress it up .

Some of these players were not completely fit: Ten Hag mentioned this in his press conference; he was struggling to get 11 players on the pitch and some of them were 20% match fit (whatever that means).

Today we are in a much better spot, with a mostly fit squad and two quality choices for most positions.

    Yes, they were 2-0 down.

Yes he’s going on about last season game but also doesn’t mention that we got a goal disallowed in that game which was very harsh which would have made it 1-1 and we don’t know what would have happened after that if that goal does and should have stood & also they don’t have Michael Olise there anymore who they are missing heavily this season as he scored two goals in that game. But he’s clearly left those two bits of information out when going on about last seasons game out as it doesn’t fit his agenda.

I remember Merson’s predictions used to be baffling but this random fella that Sky have plucked out of thin air takes it to a whole new level.

Palace have been our bogey team so I'm dreading this fixture a bit. But we need a victory here and I have no doubt we've got a better team than them. Just hope we show up.

    Awesome thinking..
We could win but we could loose.
Someone will be on the bench.
    Make me laugh.

I've seen people go some way to shift goal posts and frame things in a favourable light for Ten Hag but wow.

That first 11 alone has what 450 million pounds worth of players signed under Ten Hag (probably more than Palace have spent in a decade) plus Dalot, Mainoo and Garnacho.

Interesting to see what the front 3 is today. All of Rashford, Amad and Garnacho have started the season well. Harsh on any of them to be benched really.

They murdered us last year because Maguire and Evans couldn't cope with speed. We should do a lot better now. A win would go a long way to convincing me ETH knows what he's doing this year.

And just saying its 450mil of Ten Hag's signings when you see a defence made up of a 5th choice CB next to a CM with Wan bissaka at left back is also shifting to goal posts to add an extra negative light on him. The truth is somewhere in the middle, I don't think anyone was expecting that team with that many injuries to rock up and beat palace, I also don't think we should have capitulated and lost 4 0. A loss or draw there with that team is understandable though.

    It really isn't.

Dalot and Wan Bissaka as the full backs mean we had no chance of beating Crystal Palace?

We had a makeshift centre back pairing. That's happened plenty of times down the years. That is no excuse to get humiliated 4-0 go Crystal Palace. Crystal Palace by the way, not a top side. A side with 33 year old Nathanial Clyne in a back 3.

How much time did you spent thinking about that post ?

Vs a side with Evans and Casemiro at CB, Wan Bissaka at left back and Eriksen/Kobbie in midfield. Now the team shouldn't have lost 4 0 but I doubt anybody was expecting that team to get a win away at an improved Palace lets be honest. If they did it would have been a fantastic result in the context of those injuries. Again a draw or a loss there would not have been surprising, a win or heavy defeat would have been surprising, which is what it ended up being. This isn't prime United under Fergie that we are talking about.

Benching Rashford after the game midweek would be bizarre management.

I don't see it as bizarre. People have demanded that ETH rotate. We have a match in Europa Wed. and it's not like he would be benching him for someone that has been shite. Garnacho has as much claim to a starting spot as Rashford.

Were the lineups supposed to be released earlier this season, or did I imagine that?

    Edit: yes!

What an attacking line up! Wow rashfords been dropped despite showing good form. Worried about the weak midfield though.
