Tbh it has every chance of being a better pairing than MDL-Licha
If he goes back to this then he’s saying De Ligt isn’t good enough which is a huge worry. He needs to be getting the most out of his signings. Maguire was out the door last year as he’s not good enough for us and Evans is a 5th choice, last saloon, CB. They both have mistakes in them say as the others.

De Ligt hasn't reached Maguire's levels in his first few outings in the PL so far, and Evans is physically better suited to be a wide defender out of possession, than Martínez is.
If Lindelöf wasn't out injured I'd reckon it would be Maguire-Lindelöf again

Yeah totally agree. I'd be optimistic if it were at OT because I'm sure our fans would be right behind us knowing how much Ten Hag and the team are under pressure. Being at Villa Park it genuinely just feels like an opportunity for a team in much better form to stick the knife in.
