I’m sorry but if you make 4 signings in a summer after a terrible season and 3 of them can’t get in the team then you’ve got a problem.
And the bench has 3 more of his signings. 6 players you signed are on the bench. There are more of his signings on the bench than in the team.

    “Theres a plan” he says.

No pace or mobility in that midfield, no defensive minded midfielder, and Evans & Maguire in central defence.

Ten Hag will either turn out to be a genius or we'll get absolutely dicked today.

I think Maguire and Evans can do a job but it doesn't say much for De Ligt and Martinez. Though the latter especially needed to be dropped

Olen started doing this at the end of his tenure. Absolute wildcard line ups.

Man's gone in the week for sure when INEOS see £150m of their money sat on the bench

Is ETH a closet scouser, he has a bench of his signings, most are expensive shit too.

Next manager needs years to clean this squad of absolute crap.

The summer's must sign, the leader extraordinaré and the top 3 CB's in the world benched for Harry and Sally at Villa Park....you couldn't make this shit up.

Why is Bruno playing? Isnt he suspended after the red card against Spurs?

This club, not solely the manager, are still a complete joke.

Look at the money we've spent in recent years and look at the state of that team! Maguire and Evans as our CB pairing and Eriksen in midfield with Rashford and a completely out of form Bruno also out there.

Is Ten Hag trying to make a statement with that midfield? "I needed technical midfielders and you gave me two destroyers in Casemiro and Ugarte". You're getting sacked anyway so you do you.

The problem with that argument is that we know he has a veto, so had to agree with every signing made.

The downside of that is that he doesn't get to wash his hands of the results.

We're lulling Villa and everyone else (including ourselves) into a false sense of security. Love it.

Your plan can't fail if you don't have one. Erik Ten-Thousand-IQ-Hag.

Our fans are something else. Unbelievable.
Maguire was utter shit for two years now and cost us points and points.
But all what it was needed is one header and fans forgot everything.
Same story is with other players. All what is needed is one good game.
I said all summer he wasn't the right CB signing and got abused for it. At best marginally better but for me not at all. Nothing to do with his header in the last game.

Wild. Well that CB pairing is certainly a choice. Then protecting their lack of pace with that midfield.

We could lose this by 4. Easily.

This isn't the future at all. It's not playing to the style we WANT to be playing. It's reactive and stupid and will mean he hopefully has plenty of free time next week. Maybe he is a genius.
We'll probably win easily and nobody will really understand how

Oh nice we have the what's a 'real fan' brigade in here too.

I don't understand why we can't just try and go back to basics and make ourselves difficult to beat. Play a midfield of Ugarte, Casemiro and Mainoo. Try to keep things tight. Build a foundation.

Is he looking to get himself sacked? Evans and Maguire? I know we have been rubbish but Rogers, Watkins, Duran will all walk though that pairing.

His bench says it all really, 50m martinez, 50m de ligt, 80m antony, 50m ugarte and 70m casemiro, bayinder 15m and zirkzee 40m. That's his team, his bench that cost over 300m!

Lineup has 5 of his own signings and 2 he promoted from youth. His 5 signings costing 130m plus and also includes Rashford (big name) bruno (big name and signing), Maguire 70m, and two of the world's up and coming youngsters, Mainoo and Garnacho.

There are no more excuses left he has to deliver. This is 100% his team, some been around 2 years, most he coached before and in reality, his "style of play" should have been around for 2 years.

That cnut needs sacked for this alone. I don’t care if we win, you can’t spend all the money and bench nearly all of your signings.

Bench is definitely pretty telling today.

    Casemiro
    Diallo
    Martínez
    Lindelöf
    Ugarte
    Zirkzee
    de Ligt
    Antony

I can't believe a draw saves his job. A point means we stay in 14th place, 10 points off the top and (best case scenario) 6 points off 4th. After 7 games!
A point away to Villa will be a good result, however I don’t think we will get a draw. I just don’t know what is happening at our club.

I just don’t understand how it’s 2024 and your midfield is Bruno, Eriksen and Mainoo, away from home at a top side.

Maguire and Evans will perform great against that big tall guy upfront and all those lofted balls Villa will send towards him....

Oh sorry it's not 1997 version of Villa.....we're fecked!

This is the managerial equivalent of the "Death Rattle".

We saw it with Jose when he started randomly leaving players out and sticking Matic and Herrera at CB.

It's basically the manager going "my tactics are faultless, I'm a genius, so it can ONLY be the players - so watch me change them"....followed by a hammering or two and then finally, them being put out of their misery

This is definitely a politics lineup, not a Best XI lineup.

This is almost certainly his last game in charge I imagine.

So his tenure ends with most of his signings benched because they either they've declined, not ready or not good enough

his a fraud, barely improved any players apart from the youth and that's just because they upcoming full of confidence and very eager.

The problem with that argument is that we know he has a veto, so had to agree with every signing made.

The downside of that is that he doesn't get to wash his hands of the results.
Do we know he has a veto? Where from?
