In the latest episode of the United Hour Podcast, Nik (@Rood) and Jamie (@Vault Dweller) are here to talk about United's dreadful home defeat at the hands of Big Ange's Tottenham Hotspur. Should this have been the end of Ten Hag? How long does he actually have left? And does Nik finally want ETH out?!
Yeah, it's in a league of its own for dialogue. Some of the monologues are incredibly poetic.

Just finished Stranger things last week. What a fecking show. Just perfection. Each season kept getting better and better. Season 4 was awesome.
I'm British, and I got the humour. I just found Gervais's act (which has looked more and more like it's actually just him playing himself as the years have gone on) to wear thin very quickly. There's nothing redeemable about him.
What the US version did very well is to recognise that it needed to diverge from a slavish copy and give their lead character one or two traits that made him a tiny bit sympathetic and relatable rather than in just a 'yeah, I know a prick like that at my work' sort of way.

Loved season 1... haven't seen the rest. Are they worth watching?
Not a patch on season 1. Barely worth the watch.

Don‘t do it. I didn‘t find S2 as abysmal as most but it‘s got nothing on S1 - it‘s rather comical even. S3 I have seen only two episodes, think it‘s likely better than S2 but well…guess I‘ll finish it at some point.
Yeah think I'll leave it as a stand alone series then.

It seems like the kind of thing you'd really enjoy. Its not spartacus but its similarly fun. A great show in general anyway

South Park is a huge part of my youth. I still remember making friends over watching it. As a bit of an outkast, beeing able to actually hang and have something to talk about with the ”cool” kids was huge to me.
Was printing out pictures of Eric and the boys to hang on my wall (with another Eric of course) and had South Park theamed bedsheets.
It was a trip away from a sometimes sad childhood, and a show that forever will bring me good memories. Even if i dont enjoy the show as much now as i did then, i still watch the new episodes from time to time.

The writing, atmosphere, prestige HBO production values and Woody Harrelson in his element all add up to an all-time great miniseries, but McConaughey's career-best turn as Rust Cohle is what propels it to the top for me. Mesmerising from the first scene, he brings the obsessive, nihilistic Cohle to life, and the pay off is a tour de force of a performance.

As far as I'm concerned, it's 3 different shows that happen to have the same title. The 2nd was bang average and I didn't finish the 3rd. I'll be watching the 4th this month (starring Jodie Foster) with tempered expectations.

oh, didn‘t know there was a fourth coming up.
That continuous shot where he goes undercover alongside those neonazis hitting a stash house was breathtaking. I also like how it nonchalantly tapped into Lovecraftian cosmic horror within the last ep - although I have to be honest and say that I needed a while till I accepted and embraced that part.

Extremely overrated, now and always.

Could maybe split the more recent years into smaller groups. As that’s what most of us have lived through.
Decades are nice, but do songs instead of albums.
The trailer for the 4th looks pretty good. It's the first season with no involvement from creator Nic Pizzolatto.
I think that scene in the last episode was supposed to be his visions coming to a head rather than something actually supernatural, but I did read recently that the last episode was originally meant to have Rust vanish after that scene, never to be seen again, suggesting there were supernatural forces at work. I think they made the right choice in the end; the final scene got some stick at the time but the more I watch it the more I like it.
Love this show, the 80’s vibe, the story, and the fact that it’s the first real show I’ve properly watched with my eldest means it holds a very special place for me.No. 16 - Stranger Things

Yeah liked it and all. S2 was shite but overall it was a cracking series. Aside from the 80s setting, I loved the whole Big Trouble in Little China and similar 80s films' vibe.

One of the few highly esteemed shows that I couldn't get in to. Some episodes were fine, but never clicked for me.
