This strongly reminds me of that subreddit where people are absolutely certain a stock squeeze is coming and they will be millionaires any time now. Threads upon threads of analyses, who-sait-what, etc. They've been at it for... 2 years I think? It's always next week though.

I promise I wasn't excited even in the begining, which was 50 days and some mocking on us ago.
Even his manager and EtH had to admit that he never lived to the expectations he set few years ago.
Let's say if he 's the best in the role EtH has in mind - there is always 2nd best, 3rd best in the world, etc.
How many times option B turned out the better solution in the end?
It' time to face reality and stop wasting our time on this.
Call the manager of the next in line and so be it.

Disgusted with some of what I am reading here. No wonder we have been so poor since SAF left with the feeble levels of muppetry put forth by our so called supporters. How can we expect the team to achieve anything when we cannot even survive a transfer saga when we are still a month away from the deadline? I don't think any manager or group of players could put us back on top when the support is so weak and frankly Spursy. You must believe! We will sign FDJ, we will crush Liverpool 5-0 at Anfield and Arsenal will be relegated.

Preach brother! Preach!

There is still lots of time to go, de Jong will be ours, you just have to have faith and believe.
It may happen tomorrow, it may happen next week, it may happen next month, but it's going to happen!

Reports say he doesnt like the City, that he prefers either London or Munich if that is true i cant believe ETH is still after him.

We must sign players that want to come and enjoy all about United.

And by the way, theres no way Munich is more attractive to live than Manchester.

It's not true... it was reported by Sport and what seems to be a false report from Revelo that said a Chelsea bid was to be made within hours yesterday. All BS

Even as a United fan I'd prefer to live in Munich. It's a fantastic city.

That's my whole point though. We're supposed to be moving away from that and towards having a decent scouting department like other big clubs!
Didn't we sack half our scouting department about 2 months ago? I kind of accepted that were flying blind a bit and just trusting the manager this summer as we've done previously to poor results. I'm hoping for better in winter window and going forward. But i've written off this summer in that regard.

We are wasting our time with this transfer saga. We should be looking for an alternative instead.
Nah if ten Hag is confident, then i'm confident.
Makes no sense for him to continue on if he doesn't think he'll get his man. Of course things could chage, but he think we'll get our guy, and he clearly knows a lot more than we do.

Barcelona's plan is simple: sign every player they want, promise them insane, economics-destroying wages, run up more debt they can never repay, then... get the entire region to breakaway and declare their independence from Spain. From there, the new gov't will erase all of Barcelona's debt and bring Messi back as the first Presidente of the new republic. There will be free beer and tapas for all citizens.

The Covid-19 was a reference to the salary cap. The English clubs did not have to adjust their allowed salaries depending on their short term income which Barcelona had to do. There is no argument over the fact that Barcelona by far has mismanaged their finances the most.

I'm an economist and I cannot see that your prophecy about Barcas future death is especially well grounded. You are basically saying that LaPorta doesn't know what he is doing and that it is easy for you to tell. Well let's see how it turns out the next decade to come. There are no such thing as zero risk at elite football level but It feels a lot better spending 120m on Raphinha and Lewandowski than 400m on Coutinho, Dembélé and Griezmann.

Lewandowski can have three years in him on absolute top level and Barca must be in the competition of titles every year in order to make money. Just reaching the quarterfinals in CL two years in a row is worth as much as the buy of Lewandowski and then his wage is 200K less a week than a 37-year old Ronaldo.

Lewandowski was a perfect buy and Barca already have 9 players (7 from La Masia) under 22 years of age that could be starting players

Araujo 23 (50m market value)
Erik Garcia 21 (20 m market value)
Serginho Dest 21 (20 m market value)
Pedri 19 (80 m market value)
Gavi 17 (60 m market value)
Nico 22 (20 m market value)
Ansu Fati 19 (60 m market value)
Ferran Torres 22 (45 m market value)
Riqui Puiq 22

Add to that a handful of top class players around 25 years of age with market values hoovering round 30m-60m.
If De Jong can stay it is even better.
Well, then you might want to look at the real threat: the fact the contractions were necessary for La Liga not to fold. Barca cited this possibility as a reason for the Super League BEFORE Covid.
Why would he all of a sudden be happy to leave Barca if Chelsea come in for him? Don't see any reason he should prefer joining them over us.
Even the spanish journos saying he doesn't want to leave, say he is in daily contact with ETH. It's quite likely that if he would decide to leave, we are in pole position.
Champions league, London, our owners are not the Glazers (and I did mention before Boehly is VERY popular/influential with agents and endorsers). He may like the midfield partners he’d have at Chelsea? A manager with a better and more proven CV?

I still think, somehow, we are being used as leverage. Maybe he DOESNT want to come here and Barca are leveraging that as the alternative if he doesn’t accept the United transfer?

You guys have history and accumulated following over us now. But that matters less and less each year in modern sports.

Newbies coming here in transfer thread and shitting bricks.

Guys, these threads are not for faint hearted. Requires endurance, perseverance, patience to survive.

I was one of those muppets who still thought Sancho might sign for us in the summer of 2020 right up until deadline day. You better believe I'm still on this train.

Wish we’d give up on De Jong and try and consider other options. This guys hugely overrated and doesn’t even want to be here either.

I just see another Di Maria or to a lesser degree Pogba situation unfolding from all of this.

We’re Man United. We shouldn’t be signing players who don’t want to be here. feck De Jong off please.
