Not sure what his wages would be if he took a pay cut though as I've read that the amount they want him on would be more than a 50% cut which is illegal in SpainUnless this whole thing is a ploy from Barcelona to prove to FDJ that he is expendable, so he'd better take a pay reduction down to a mere €150k per week....?!?!

I agree. It's all about how much money they can save for themselves. It's the same with any business, get the best you can for the least possible and rely on loyalty and the sorts to achieve that.

I was against the concept at first, but the more the negative stories come out about him not wanting to come, the more im starting to feel that we wouldn't have come this far if he just told ETH that from the start. Or at any point.
I really don't think we would you know. It would be pointless and time consuming for all involved. EtH definitely wants him and de Jong must be intrigued and happy to come or we'd definitely have walked away.
If it turned out he never had any intention of coming, then the whole club needs to be held accountable. I just don't think EtH would risk pissing the board off in his first window
