I see Zidane has returned his love letters, wonder when they'll announce the engagement.

Pogba's head, as we have come to see more often than not, is not in the right place. The fact that he's still our best player is a testament to his ability and a criticism of our poor recruitment.

I can see him causing drama this summer, continuing to be inconsistent next season and then going off next summer.

Most frustrating when he does not put in a shift.

The Watford MFs who have not got half his ability, but they worked harder than him today.

Maybe because Pogba never played at his best with a #10 in front of him whether here or in Italy.

The awful performances by Herrera and Matic also don't help him.

But we must stop the excuses. Sell him for 20 millions to Madrid or Juventus before they change their mind !

Any fan dares to criticize Pogba for a bad game and it's apparently 'vultures'. Now you create this hyperbole of people thinking he is a bad player. Pogba is a very good player, but he isn't what a lot of people make him out to be...a god like figure that is beyond reproach.

He is a difficult player to fit into a team, and no player unless they are GOAT level is irreplaceable. De Bruyne missed half a season through injury, and in that time lost his place to Bernardo Silva. He was one of the best midfielders in the world last season and now he's fighting for his place.

It can also be argued that Pogba puts in these performances because he's the big fish at this club. He knows we are up shit's creek without him, so why not get in better players so we can bench him when he is not playing well.

200m you can't be serious
I rate him but 100-120 seems a fair price.
For his actual ability sure. But after Messi and Ronaldo he is basically the most famous footballer in the world. His image he has created makes him worth more than his on-field display. Plus we have no reason to give Madrid a good deal.

It’s not always about vultures. Most people want to see him do well and have no personal issue. But while his stats are good he was dreadful under mourinho, incredible for a while under solskjaer and has mostly been as bad as he ever has since PSG home leg, Chelsea cup performance aside.

For a player we pin a huge amount of our hopes on, at a time of rebuilding this summer, we need to seriously ask two questions.
A) is he worth the gamble of having weeks of poor form at a time, seemingly without reason.
B) even if he is, will he just cause a headache with wanting to leave next year instead.

We need consistency, on the field and in the squad. I’m not sure Pogba provides either.

Do they? Don't read very often that he's been brilliant and it's just a dip in form. People seem to forget, all the top, top players play along side equally top players. This isn't Roy of the Rovers and doesn't matter how good you are, you can't play well when teams know if we close down Pogba, you loss 50% of our creativity. Chelsea have Hazard, a player who would walk into pretty much into every team but it's probably won't be enough to make top 4.

I can't remember many games where others have played well and he hasn't like today. Don't believe he's been inconsistent since Ole took over, and actually I think he looked better with Scott, Pereira or Fred around him. The issue of not being here is just the same rhetoric that's always applied to him because some if they are honest like with Rom, haven't never really taken to him. It doesn't take much for people to want him to leave.

He mostly just kept the ball today and to be fair he did win the ball a couple of times to help Ander and the defense. He did have that nice left footed ball to put Rashford away. But he's capable of a lot more than that.

Doucoure was the better version of him going forward today at least.

Coutinho was worth what 105m? Neymar at 200m, a few seasons ago. We should be getting at least 175m for Pogba imo.

Looks like the motivation he got from sticking the knife into Jose has worn off. He’s simply not got the united DNA. If we can cash in on him and build a decent midfield we should.

There's a big difference to criticising his performance then the immediate well people go to that we need to sell him. Since Ole came in, he's been brilliant and yes that's fallen off a little but so has the team in general. Like I said, Pogs and Rom in general do have the vultures always circling because it doesn't take much for people to want to sell them. Where would the team be without their impact since Ole took over....

Don't act like we never booed him.
At least in Madrid with world class players everywhere and with an ambitious board, he has no excuses if he isn't great week in week out.

Even Messi may struggles here tbf.

But still funny to see how even in his bad days he's better than Herrera.
It's not all that funny because he is supposed to be a few tiers above Herrera in his ability to play football matches.
Feck me, wondered how long it would take for the vultures to start circling again. Been brilliant for most of the games since Ole took over, his performance levels have dropped but that could be said of most of the players too. We need to stop this nonsense because a player as a few bad games. Seen the same nonsense said about Rashford and similar about Martial.

How many goals and assists this season...?
Personally I don't think his performances have all been brilliant. He delivers a goal or assist during meh performances which makes him a very good player and one you must play. He has been on and off since his time here and the off days are too common for a high level player, which has reared its head again since PSG. That said, it's not just Paul. All our players have this inconsistency which is what separates us from our strong sides in the past. The Beckham's Keane's Scholes' etc would atleast deliver a 7/10 in most games so you know the bear minimum to expect. With these current players, with each individual you can get an 8/10 one week a 6/10 next, then 5/10 then 7/10 then 6/10 then 5/10 then another 8/10. With Liverpool attackers e.g. they will get a bear minimum level from their attackers and no one in our side offers that.

Agree. The funny thing is the narrative is Pogba is shite, sell him for 150m....what a fecking contradiction. How can he bit so shit but worth so much money?

No it isn't, stop lying. Virtually no one thinks Pogba is a shite player. There are however many that think he is overrated. I personally think he is a very good player. Maybe, just maybe this narrative is a creation of your imagination.

He is at around equal number of bad and good games under Ole too. Only problem is that good games where games where we could win without him too.

Maybe it's me but can't think of any other midfield player worth 150m in today's market playing in such an average team. Whether Ole was here at the start of the season or not, we would be where we currently are. You answered your own question cause compare that midfield to this one. How easy is it to produce 7/10 performances with Becks, Keane, Scholes or Giggs along you.

How was Coutinho worth 100m?

Pogba isnt shite but he's not all he's cracked up to be either.

He was brilliant when ole came but maybe now his heads been turned by Madrid.

I don't get why some posters jump to defend him every time he gets criticized for a poor performance. Not to mention etiquettes like vultures and Jose lovers.

I'm the first to defend him, but he was beyond awful today. The rumours are annoying, but if he keeps playing like this then it will have the fans turning against him and causing us issues. Needs to put his head down and get back on form, we need him, if even he wants to leave.

Reinforcing my opinion that the team would improve by selling Pogba and investing in a direct replacement and a Matic replacement. He seems prone to arrogance/complacency. He'll fit in at Madrid perfectly.

No player is great every single game. However top players tend to bring everyone up a level when it matters.

I think Barcelona in under two weeks will be a crystallising moment. In that game no-one is expecting Herrera to dominate Rakitic, or Lindelof to dominate Suarez, or Matic to dominate Coutinho, or Rashford to dominate Pique. We'd be absolutely ecstatic with our good players cancelling out their very good ones. However what any fan of Pogba should be expecting is our top players to take advantage of the situation. We should expect De Gea to make a few saves that other keepers wouldn't and Pogba to either score or create a few golden opportunities that the Sissoko's of this world simply wouldn't be capable of.

Hopefully we're pleasantly surprised. If not there are several great players who would love the finances and opportunity that would come with holding such a position.

Ousmane Dembele went to Barca for 120m so yes, the lad you replied to is serious. If they want him they can have him for around 200m.

You guys realise that he played two games in the international break? You do realise that Watford are an excellent side and our whole team had an off day? You do realise we still won the game despite all that? You do realise that players like De Bruyne, Hazard, VVD, and all the other best players in Europe have plenty of 'off days' (except Leo, of course)? Please have some cold water and go for a walk.

The truth is, if we’re ever going to get back to where we were, we can’t afford to have our best players be so inconsistent. Dacoure probably has half his talent but there’s no doubt that over a a full season he would probably put in more consistent performances. They may never reach the highs of Pogba at his best but a manager needs to know roughly what he’s gonna get on the pitch when he selects a player.

Pogba has everything to be one of the best in the world except, sadly, the mentality.

Why?? Guy has scored double figures in an advanced role, now Ole wants to revert back to Jose tactics. Ludicrous
