no fan of Trump - but can't help but feel in recent days he has given a good account of himself. he is like a 5,000 piece jigsaw and it' like you have found that 1 piece where everything now fits in place.

I'm sure the biggest Trump critic out there is pi55ed at his recent success.

Yeah you're a free thinker all right.

I'll give you one response: you have to be really dumb to think Trump is responsible for the economy at this early stage.

Straight to insults.

How progressive!

When did I say Trump was solely responsible for the economy, he and Obama did good work from an economic perspective.

If Trump found the cure for cancer, most of the posters here would take the side of the tumour.

If Trump found the cure for cancer I would hail him as a hero, a living legend, a great man to be remembered through history alongside Einstein and Newton... While simultaneously calling for his urgent impeachment because he is horrendously unqualified for the position of POTUS, and should stick to the sciences.

It’s a sad day when the personal dislike of an individual prejudices the view of a superb accomplishment, which, supporters and non-supporters of Trump alike ought to be celebrating.

Though we reserve the right to cynicism and trepidation, one must hold their hands up and willingly concede that something contrary to the expectations of Trump has happened. Where war provocation was predicted with a snigger, the opposite has occurred (thus far).

I called this all happening on here a few months ago. A photo op for all parties and nothing more.

Nothing of genuine significance (for the betterment of America).

Your hatred means you can't give him credit for anything.

I did not like Obama but I can give him credit for the things he did well.

He was a great statesman and orator and did good work recovering the economy from recession.

From a Conservative stand point all the things I listed about Trump are great for America.

More like if he met with a crazy doctor and got him to agree that we should work towards curing cancer, something he had already agreed to years ago.

Details matter, not just headlines and photo ops.

On the contrary:

  1. Economy is in fantastic shape.
  2. Lowest Black/Latino American unemployment in many years.
  3. Lowest general unemployment in many years.
  4. Moved embassy to Jersualem.
  5. Restricted illegal immigration by giving ICE more powers.
  6. Judicial appointments in particular Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.
  7. Ended Iran deal.
  8. Negotiated peace with North Korea.
  9. Tax reform.
  10. Isis destroyed.
  11. Individual mandate repealed.
  12. Deregulation.
  13. Withdrew from Paris Accord.
  14. Negotiated release of three American hostages back from North Korea.
  15. Cracked down on Sanctuary cities.
  16. Cut federal funding for Abortion.
  17. Stood up to a corrupt and biased media.

The unemployment figures, whilst factually the lowest, don't tell half the story. All that has happened is the continuing of a trend since 2010-2012.

You should be grateful even if it was just a photo op.
The SK president is very much in favour of reconciliation with the North. I think everyone will come out of it looking good, and will likely be a PR stunt for all involved. SK brokered the deal, their president can spin it as SK being tougher on American influence in the peninsula, Trump will get a concession of some sort, NK will get some sort of sanctions ease, or a reversal of sanctions pending specific conditions projected years in the future (when Trump isn't going to be president), China will take credit for doing background work, and while none of it might mean anything in terms of material changes, it could be a good political move for all involved.

Could even be Trump's Iran moment, only without any binding treaty, or that might be what he's thinking. Judging by the polls, and forecasts for the midterms, he needs something to divert attention from the Russia investigation.

It's a political stunt. Nothing material will change.

I would not celebrate this if James Madison were somehow revived and representing the US on this. I would treat it with the same caution I do now, due to the history of NK as it relates to these deals.

2 dictators meet for a nice mutual wank and some good PR.

Meanwhile one burns bridges and creates rifts with traditional allies all over the world, while polarizing his own country. The other can now continue subjugating his people to starvation and human rights abuses with the blessing of America.

Yeah, let's bust out the Nobel Peace prize.

He could have all the details ever about anything and everything and you'd still hate him.
I don't understand what it is with Trump supporters and fallacies. He doesn't have all the details on everything ever, if he did, he would be a much better president. The reason he doesn't is the reason he's not and the reason he's not is why people dislike him. It's not the orange hair and tiny hands, those are just a bonus. People dislike him for his incoherent policy, blatant lies (because he's a liar, you can not in any way deny that) and ridiculous demeanor.

That's the difference between the way Obama was treated by the right and Trump is treated by the left.

In Obama's case it's because he was black. In Trump's case it's because he's a dimwitted cnut who spends his day spouting poorly constructed kindergarten level insults at people that criticize him.

I'm not saying Obama is the greatest president in history (he's not), but there's a very large amount of people (who are now crying salty tears at the mean mean main stream media) who saw the colour of Obama's skin or heard his middle name was Hussein and thought to there selfs; GAHHH terrorist, he sucks, he must not be American.

Yea obvious waste of time. No info no nothing. Something any president could be capable of and achieve right? Right.

Yes, literally any American President could have achieved this with NK. NK’s consistent position has for decades been that they wanted unilateral talks with America so they’d appear like a major player. Did you know that Obama actually said he would consider meeting NK during his campaign? Do you know how conservatives reacted to that?

Yeah you're a free thinker all right.

Ya ya all Obama’s
Shall we give Obama credit for NK summit too? Why not?!

I am not American, so don’t really care re pro-Trump vs anti-Trump (prefer to see things as they are)....but love how the world is always in ‘shock’ at outcomes like Brexit, Trump, Modi, etc.

The meltdown in here when he gets re-elected in 2020 is gonna be amazing!

Obama is disliked because his actions never lived up to his promises.

He was all style and no substance.

Why are all Trump supporters such obvious idiots? It’s weird. I’ve spent a fair bit of time arguing with Corbynites in another thread and at least they can form a coherent argument. With the Trumpists it’s just shit memes and straw men. Almost a parody of their dear leader.

Has anyone gone through the actual details of the agreement? Trump has sold Japan and SK out.
NK have given vague statements but no definite concessions.
  • North Korea has not revealed the extent of their nuclear capabilities.
  • North Korea has not given a timeframe for denuclearisation. It could be next month or next twenty years.
  • North Korea has not given any commitment to allow the IAEA or any oversight on its nuclear disarmament. There is literarily no way to verify anything.
  • How can you negotiate when you have no idea what you're basing negotiations on?
Look at the statement released by South Korean officials have made. Sceptical is the word.
Trump has ended military exercises and got nothing in return.
Kim has played this brilliantly. He knows Trump is only interested in the show and not any substance.

Alternatively, maybe no previous president met with NK as equals because they refused to give legitimacy to a murderous regime?

Meanwhile the Infinitely Wise Supreme Leader Trump is out here talking about building condos on North Korean beaches.

If I'm NK, what's stopping me from renting a little space on the South China sea that China is populating and keeping my nukes there?

Because they fall in line with their idiot idol and think facts and truth don't mean anything.

Obama stated he would meet with any world leader without preconditions if it could lead to peace.
Fox and the Republicans destroyed him for it but there you go

I'm too lazy to adres this entire list, but come on man. He Tweets his love and respect for FOX news daily. You cannot honestly believe Trump stands up to corrupt and biased media. He stands up to media that is critical of him. This is just so fecking obvious to anyone with even a modicum of objectivity. Hell, my little sister can see through his obvious tactic regarding the media and she's fecking 3.

I'm lying I don't have a sister, but jesus H Christ. You can simply not be serious. You cannot. Na-ah. Nope. Feck off.

No. Because it's Trump. And many here are very disappointed that he hasn't tanked the US economy as they had hoped.
Such rubbish hyperbole. The economy is cyclical so we will generally have a downturn (and upturn) regardless of who is in power.

And let's wait and see how Trump's administration weathers a full business cycle and also where the US economy nets out after Trump's strong arm trade diplomacy, before praising his economic nous.

Why have you been crying so much that Trump did something positive? Literally have been just lashing out in anger this entire time. It’s quite hilarious actually.

You wouldn't praise it anyway.

Cocaine's a hell of a drug.
I’d stop doing it if I was you.

On a serious note, surely you’re more grown up than simply throwing insults at a politician you don’t agree with? Some things Obama did very well, and now Trump is making moves. Same for Corbyn, May, even David Cameron - why is it so hard to be a non-child when it comes to politics?

Self-selection bias.
