Ronaldo seems to be angry at the government, I don't see why he would need to pressure Madrid for 16m spread out over 10 years or however long his time frame will be.

I agree with you. I preface this with "I don't think he will leave", however those that want to dismiss this as a genuine story and thus a possibility of occurring are being way too smug.

Now I may be a bit jaded because let's face it the rumors of Ronaldo returning to Manchester United started within in months of his leaving us in the first place and he still isn't here yet. I have my doubts that in any of the cases were we actually in with a good chance of bringing him back.

We'd pay for it with shirt sales in the first few days, except for the fact that is not the way our shirt deal works and even Real Madrid was not truthful when they said they paid for Ronaldo with increased shirt sales.
Well exactly why you get a top tax firm to do it for you. Who's doing his taxes? His mum? Surely there are hundreds if businesses, footballers, etc who also have to comply with the tax regs? I can't believe the excuse but its too difficult.
If the club pays his fines/back taxes does he then have to pay tax on that as it would be considered income for him?
