The whole Benzema sidekick angle falls on its arse though. If you no longer have Cristiano's goals you can't afford Benzema's productivity as a #9.
Benzema could still be the lead striker, he's good enough to score plenty. They'll sign Mbappe anyway and he will probably become the lead.

It will just require a different approach.

I just hope we don't get tangled in it like that Ramos saga.

That was rather embarrassing.

Poor Graham Hunter was led on and then made to look like a fool.

''Sergio Ramos wants to leave, and he only wants to join United''
Not the first time that happened. Remember the Thiago episode? Best not to trust old Graham...not his fault but he's obviously used by others to push an angle.

Yawn. . . Not another "look at me" Ronaldo incident stating that he wants to leave RM.

Reasons usually because he wants money - either in terms of a better contract or someone to pay his tax bill. If this is over tax, WTF has it to do with RM?

I'm afraid Ronaldo won't be going anywhere. In the highly unlikely event that he did leave, I could not see him returning to United. . . More like Bayern.

Forget Perisic. Get a DM and Ronaldo. Ronaldo is not Rooney, he will do well for another 4 years. And Ron will make everyone better around him. Summer window at 300 mil? Worth it!

If Madrid have any part in it either its an almighty mess up or dodgy dealings on Madrids part when it comes to his image rights or something like that, or he is looking for the same sort of backing Messi got recently from Barcelona.

Imagine actually having a player capable of doing this (possibly my all time fav United goal)

meh ... maybe in football manager

Ando's best assist ever!

Lets bring Ando and Nani back -- lets put the band back together!

Sometimes it's just better to step back and use common sense.

Such a move isn't happening.

For someone that supposedly loves United so much, it's surprising how easily the Ronaldo entourage are willing to use United's name whenever they want to push an agenda.

With BBC/Times/Sky all saying something at roughly the same time, his agent has obviously briefed the press about all this. However i will only consider this a legit "saga" if ronaldo or mendes say something publicly. Right now this seems like nothing more than a hissy fit because the club aren't backing him enough in the tax shenanigans/debacle.

Actually in this instance he's not mentioned United so maybe this ones genuine? :) I tend to agree with you, but I think the biggest issues has been the weather. He's disrespected united fans AND madrid fans lol but I think in hindsight he will appreciate United fans more. We'll never really know.

The same way we kissed goodbye to Mata once Mou signed? Oh wait wasnt he like our top 3 goalscorers? But if Ronaldo does indeed want to, the French league isnt good enough for him. If he wants a challenge, we are the only other team he would move to. Im sure they would put aside their differences and work together.

Nothing like the Mata story, Mata and Mouirnho never fell out.

Mourinho and Ronaldo did.

There were some disparaging remarks about Ronaldo from Mouinrho (something to do with Ronaldo becoming Portugal manager in the EUROs final) that made me feel the Ronnie/Jose spat is a lot more than just a spat.

Hopefully they can make up and Ron can be tempted back the Theatre of Dreams.

But like almost everyone else, I'm pretty sure Ronaldo's troubles will ease off and he will end up staying in Madrid.

He wouldn't play for Jose, and Jose wouldn't want him.
FFS if Ronaldo wants to come back? Keep De Gea, put Ronaldo into the lineup and I will bring a title home nevermind Jose.

He signed a new deal in november. This is all about the tax situation. He's seemingly freaked the feck out over that and has gone nuclear on the club. Madrid will back him/pay for it. However i can't see this being about a contract.

Maybe Ron feels Mbappe will take a spotlight away a bit and wants to move on. Possible.

They can solve their problems with each other here. Life always gives another chance to solve your problems.

Makes him look guilty I feel. I mean how hard is it for him to get his taxes straight? All he needs to do is pay a weeks wages to the best tax company in Spain to look after his finances for a year. Probably half a weeks wages. Why throw is toys out the pram? All he needs to say is wow this is odd. Here's my tax firms number.

How is that a fix, are United the village idiots?
In a world where the cafe is happy to spend 90m on Morata and 50m on Perisic, 150m on Ronaldo doesnt seem bad at all. He can improve those two positions single handedly.

I just hope the distraction doesn't enable Chelsea to sign Morata...

Anyway I have a feeling we'll wake next morning with news of Madrid paying all his taxes and him being happy again.
