I'm gonna become a Zlatan fanboy on this forum and big him up as the BPITW and throw the Messi-Ronaldo debate off it's balance.

Is there any player today better than Zlatan? Sure Falcao is great and then there's Ronaldo and Messi but Zlatan has brought the business in 5 different leagues, Europe and is constantly one of the best players in international football, something Messi can't say. I reckon the Messi influence pushed him out of Barca. He was scared that there was a bigger cock in the dressing room (every meaning of that word) and had removed.

Yeah but he has the champions league jinx on him..

Great player, I hate him, and he's easily not even in the top five players at the moment IMO.

Ah, and he was kicked out of Barcelona because he can't pass.

You do have to love this forum. It only took about 8 years of dissappointing performances in the champions league for people to quiet down about him being best player in the world. And then one performance in one friendly match puts him back on top of the pile.

No he isn't. Get serious.

5 leagues? Yeah, because the Swedish, Dutch and Swedish League count. Come on.

Zlatan - 39 goals in 85 caps. Messi - 31 in 75 caps.

How many CL knockout ties has Ibrahimovic fired blanks in again? As opposed to Messi who's scored in two finals.

I can see tonight has caused some kind of spastic effect on the world, where all of a sudden, because of one bicycle kick, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is now the greatest player ever. All over facebook and twitter too.

There's plenty of folk in this thread who've maintained the opposite: that his finishing's not good enough, he consistently fails in the big games and so forth. Yet you reckon Caf consensus had him as the best player in the world?

How on earth is the technique better than Ibras? Some people are so incredibly biased these days it's ridiculous  I've never understood why English people have always hated ibra and continued to underrate him when the rest of the world to see he has been one of the best strikers out there for the past 6ish years.

Rooney's goal was harder to score. It even took a deflection and he had to adjust his body to it.

I'm not English nor am I the biggest Rooney fan. You on the other hand are Bosnian, so I don't know how you can be anything close to neutral.

You're gonna tell me Ibra's was a better goal than Rooney's?

i wish zlatan had played for us. i was saying this back when he signed for juve. he was made to play at OT week in week out.

unlike berbatov, the classic big fish small pond player, zlatan has the bollocks and the arrogance required. he's a hell of a lot closer to cantona-esque than berbatov.

Really nice goal, but I think people are getting ahead of themselves a bit in saying it is the best ever. Hart messed up for it and I get the feeling Zlatan just threw a boot at it on the chance that he could get it on target as the keeper was stranded. It worked, so credit to him though.

I've always liked Rooney more then ibra and since I'm a united fan, I'd tend to be more biased towards Rooney. Obviously the circumstances are completely different but while it might be easier to actually hit the ball with a bicycle kick in Ibras goal then Rooneys, it's much further out, has perfect connection and is at a harder angle to score from (and because its an over head kick, the angle really does make a difference). Not trying to take anything away from Wayne's goal mind you and I like it more, but from a purely technical viewpoint, Ibras was harder to score with.

I've always been in the camp that he's over hyped, a player who whenever I've seen has often been a bit dull, certainly in the Champions League and internationally. That goal last night though v England was special, fair play to him. Hart made another real balls up there, great finish on the fly from Ibra.

Top 10 player for sure but too inconsistent in the past IMO. He's a bit of a black box, you never know what is coming plus he doesnt seem to be a big game player

Fantastic performance bit it came in a friendly. Shame he hasn't performed like that when it really matters.

 The bitterness of some to even recognize a truly outstanding goal.I could imagine the response if Rooney had scored it.

Referring to me? I think it's a great goal. I didn't watch the game, in the match reports it was described as with much hype, you know where were you at the time of Zlatan goal sort of narrative.

I saw it today and yes it's good but to call it best goal ever seen live (Gerrard) is bit to much imo.

Ibra is a beast. Would have loved to have him here. He would have bullied all the opposing centre backs.

Ferguson would have him on the bench with Rooney and Wellbeck starting ala Berbatov last year.

No. Berbatov is not even close Ibra's level.

Like saying SAF wouldn't play Ronaldo because now he is not playing Nani.

Listen I've seen enough games involving Ibrahimovic where he has been pants. So let's stop creaming ourselves because he took the piss out of English backline that was playing together for the first time.

The point I am making is Berbatov is a class act who Ferguson overlooked because he doesn't run around alot. You get the same from Ibrahimovic.

Ferguson really fecked up with Berbatov having him on the bench for most of last year and the team devoid of creating chances.

Ibra was consistently one of the best (Top 5) best players in Serie A, many times was the best player there. Scores a ton of goals. The only downhill is that he wasn't good in UCL.

Pretty much comparing Berbatov to one of the best strikers of the last decade is ridiculous.

Shame he didn't have the cojones required for Barca.

To individual to truly work at Barca, same problem they're having with Sanchez in my opinion.

Well but that's not what happened, is it?

Barca or more specifically Pep didn't want a player whose ego was bigger then the entire club he played for and I can't say I fault him for it.

No matter how brilliant Ibrahimovic can be at times I can't say I would have relished seeing him play for us.

Especially not considering who his agent is and that he fecks off to a new club every 2-3 years.

What an absolute beast of a player. He is the Swedish national team just like Maradona was Argentina. Barcelona must be kicking themselves in the matches they find it hard to score.

I can't believe some people trying to say this isn't better than Rooney's goal...

When you take everything into consideration Rooney's goal was better IMO. It was the winning goal in a competetive match against local rivals as well as being a fabulous strike etc etc.

Just simply comparing strike for strike Zlatan's was better. But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter.

The team devoid of making chances? We got 89 points?

And are you really suggesting that Sir Alex is so blinkered that he would not recognise the class of someone like Ibra because he doesn't run around a lot?

When you are comparing goals, i don't think anyone looks at the situation, or the opposition or anything. Rooney's goal was more important, but Zlantan's was the better one.
